Chitosan helpful in removing fat where THC is stored?
Chitosan is a powder that comes from the exoskeletons of crustaceans. It is used to rapidly absorb fat and oil and is used to purify water and more recently, in weight loss supplements. I've heard of it before and recently a buddy of mine was claiming it helps him rapidly lose weight with no changes to his diet. So I wondered if this could possibly be applied to removing the fat where THC has already been stored or what? I don't know check out this site and give me your opinion... I think it may be something EXTREMELY helpful to the pothead community assuming that it works at all. I don't know what do you think?

Chitosan helpful in removing fat where THC is stored?
Since you asked so nicely. I.M. High I will give it a shot. First of all the claims made by Chitosan seem to be an exaggeration. It claims to bind to fat in the GI tract to prevent absorbtion. The link made it sound like this was a significant amount of fat it can bind to. I found other studies that showed that even with large doses of chitosan, it only could bind 1-3 (9-27 calories) grams of fat which is nothing. Pretty ineffective. Even if it was effective problem is THC metabolites are not stored in your stomach. There is some found in the intestines but that is another story and I am not going to get into that. Chitosan is not going to enter your bloodstream untouched and go around grabbing up fat molecules and THC metabolites that may be found with those fat molecules. It certainly isn't going to help with THC metabolites found in fat tissue. Verdict on chitosan, not helpful.
Soluble fiber such as that found in Metamucil can help with the THC metabolites found in the intestines and can help a little. I will get into that one day in greater detail.
