I think it would be interesting if anyone on here that smoked the ganja was a doctor, then we could get some real medical opinions on the side effects or benefits and what not. Rating: 5

That's Dave Byrd, my very own husband. Who's lying in bed behind me with an ice pack on his nether regions. He had a vasectomy this afternoon, the brave soul. So there's no longer any hope of more baby Birds at this nest . . . .

How old are you guys? Where did you find a doc to do it?

My husband and I would love to have it done, but no doctor we've found will do it. :P

We're older and through with our family, so it was quite easy to get a colleague to do the procedure on him. I'm 45 and Dave just turned 50. One of his urologist buddies that practices at his same hospital here in the Dallas-Plano, Texas area did the procedure. We have a 20-year-old son, and I've been holding onto hope that somehow I'd have another all these years. But I've been told the risk of my getting accidentally pregnant at my age and with the cardio challenges I currently have would be a bad idea. I don't like most of the most practical birth control alternatives like diaphragms and no longer am an ideal candidate for the pill. Dave read the birth control thread in the Women's sub-forum and realized he'd been putting it off for too long, so he went for it.

Matt the Funk, I'm studying psychology myself so if you need any help getting started or just want to talk to a like minded person, I'm available. I'll be starting grad school soon and though I'm not a professional yet, Id like to think I'm a wealth of knowledge on the process. Just thought I'd throw that out there

I'm one of the aforementioned nursing assistants, with two years of nursing school (didn't finish), and I think one member here is a cardiologist?

I'm working on my English degree right now, but I always keep current with medical research.

I find myself wishing you were getting some type of further medical training along with that English degree. You certainly seem astute and interesed enough in the field that you would make a fine RN, nurse-practioner, PA, physician, PT or other allied health professional. My guess is when you leave medical work, you're going to miss it more than you realize.

omg! give him my sympathies lol.... he's a braver man then i am... you'd have to tie me down to have that done.... and you better hope you put me to sleep as well, cuz i'd be doing EVERYTHING i could to get loose...

and there's still hopes... c'mon your learning to be a doctor aren't you? you should definately know they're completely reversible...

that's cool there are so many licensed medical workers. i don't have any certifications or anything but i'd like to say i have a pretty extensive knowledge of nutrition and exercise.
