    COLD WEATHER

i used to be one a 24 hour Light then i dropped to 20/4 anyhow, the point is my lights provided around the clock temperature control (it would be too cold where i grow otherwise) I switched to 12/12 a week or so ago and it has been very warm. today it is cold ( the dark period is during daylight hours for heating purposes) the temperature in the grow room has dropped from 75 this morning with the lights on to 50 now with 2 hours left. i think 50 degrees is the bottom end temperature before there is a disruption in growth. (i try to not go below 65) anyhow tomorrow is gonna be even colder. how important is a constant temperature to successful growing? it makes sense for the plants to tolerate cool temps during the dark perid, but how cool? also how much will this contribute to hermaphrodite/male dominated plants, (some plants are not showing sex yet) is it worth getting a heater if it is only getting this cold like 1 every 2 weeks?

Thought I read somewhere that 15 degrees drop at night is the norm. No idea on how that slows growth. My rooms drops maybe 10 degrees at night. Can you set up some sort of little heater on a timer?

55 is as low as they should go, and even that's pushing it, I have 1 right now that likes the 60's at night, and 3 that don't care; they're all 30 days from harvest. Get a space heater and run it at night(it'll take a few days to get it set right, don't put it on a timer! thats a fire hazard!), then during the day let the lights bring the temps up gradually (turn off the heater in the day to save $$). I'd try to keep it at 60-65 at night with daytime temps from 75-80.

WELL I GOT A HEATER, AND PLACED IT IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THE P,ANTS
LOW TEMP THIS MORNING WAS 44 DEGREES, ALTHOUGH I BELIEVE IT GOT DOWN TO LIKE 9 DEGREES OUTSIDE. THERE IS SNOW ON THE ROOF, WHICH WILL HELP WITH INSULATION I THINK

Put the heater a few feet away, it'll cook them if it's in the middle!

it seems to be a low intensity sort of heater, and i got a fan on the thing now. i also got a thermometer probe thing sitting in the air right next to the branch closest to the heater, and it has never been above 75 still. one leaf that is real close to the thing is drying out but the rest looks fine.
