I have a simple question. Do you know what redundant means? Do not look it up, simply answer the poll. I will explain my reason for posting this after I have gotten a decent idea of wheather the definition is common knowledge or not.

Yes it is common knowledge....
i am now very curious
'Cause I cannot speak, I lost my voice
I'm speechless and redundant
'Cause I love you's not enough
I'm lost for words.
I know where this is going and it is quite redundant too...
I think you are thinking incorrectly...Quote:

I will post why in a second. I'm looking at scholarships I may qualify for right now. Will post the reason in about 30 mins. Can you take the suspense?
Well we waited 3 weeks to see if stinky would find love this weekend I guess we can wait 30 mins for this...
yeah, I do. I thought most people did
Actually I thought the thread was asking if people find smoking weed redundant.
Its often used in french (when writing)
excuse me ,,,I thought it related to the repetitive posts by some...
thats what i thought too

The reason I asked this question is because to day in my Advanced Grammer class we had to give a short presenation on our research papers. The paper had to be on a literary tool or word that has caused a lot of debate or has a lot of usage problems.
For example.
I did mine on double negatives. Others did it on when to use that or which, then or than, ain't, etc...
Well, one girl in my class chose the word redundant. She started her presentation with, "I had absolutely no clue what redundant was before I started doint my research..." This is a college course, with a prerequisite of English 101... Everyone in this class is at least 19, maybe one or two are 18, most are in their 20's.
Here is the kicker... She is an education major... I just wanted to make sure my suspision was correct and that most people are aware of what that word means. It is used a lot, so I don't understand how someone hoping to be a teacher can't pick up a dictionary when she keeps hearing a word and doesn't know what it means.
*end rant*
wow. she doesnt sound like she belongs in that class
We have a local milk store and college kids work there in the summer... Half of them cant figure change without the aid of a register... one tried to charge me 9 dollars for a quart of milk,,,LOLz...
(aside to jagged: have you got my email yet? u should have...let me know. ps. yes, i am stalking you. lol. jk...well sort of)
Lol, sorry I forgot to check that email account. I have several for different things, that one is for this site... I'm not in the habit of checking it. Thanks a bunch. I skimmed through the files a second ago and it looks like there is a plethora of info there. How long did it take you to compile all that? I don't have much to do tomorrow and will read through some of it tomorrow, thanks again Dutch.Quote:

Feeling it would be wrong to leave, he tells her about her mistake and she gets really confused. He said he finally just walked out with the change she gave him. According to him the girl behind the counter couldn't understand her mistake.Quote:

I probably spent at least a week surfing the net for studies...it's harder than it sounds because I only wanted to use studies that did their research well, and were legit. Obviously, the topic was very interesting to me so altho reading studies is hard work, it's fun and very worthwhile!!! My teacher loved it by the way, I got an A. He said my argument was very strong :DQuote:

Yeah, in like 6th grade I learned what redundant meant.
I was walking down the hall with a teacher and she said redundant and I was like "whats that mean" and she told me what it meant.
Don't ask me how I remember...I just remember, and thats how I know what that word means.
It means like repetitive, by the way.
Lol, yup, like skink suggested, this site is a prime example of redundancy. :DQuote:

Oh and Nap, I know how you feel sometimes.
Based on the research alone, it looks like you earned that A. I agree, finding decent sources can be a pain in the ass. Especially if you are having to use a normal search engine like google, the internet is full of lies and false information.Quote:
