Has anyone else seen this movie? It's absolutly wonderful! It's the only movie had me leave the theater crying though, to be honest.

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
The way it was put together and pulled off was wonderful, they set the mood so perfectly
what is that movie about anyway?
"Pan's Labyrinth" is the story of a young girl who travels with her pregnant mother to live with her mother's new husband in a rural area up North in Spain, 1944, after Franco's victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Fascist repression towards the end of World War II (1944) is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own.Quote:

One guy gets his head smashed in with a wine bottle, several other's are in short "head shot", one man tortured, another man is sliced up then knife is stuck in his mouth and pulled out the cheek only to be shot in the head later, all graphicly shown. I could tell you some others but it would spoil itQuote:

It was excellent. I really loved it, despite its violence (really cool, but I didn't expect it)
It is seriously and "adult" fairy tell (not the sexy type with the cheezy music =P ) the people behind me had brought kids and freaked when the guy got his face smashed in and left bitching about how it was advertized as a "childrens movie" even though it's rated r >.>
I wanted to see it when it was out, dunno if it's still out. I'll have to DL it or something.
I didnt expect alot of what i saw.. the violence is very real, it'll teach kids that violence isnt all its cracked up to be, it'll set them straight.
i love unpredictable plots.. they're great.
this movie was really intense, id totally watch it again.
Oh man, what a great movie... Although I'm not sure I'd recommend seeing it high, it's pretty intense...
By the way, it's back in theaters in a lot of places because it won the oscar for best cinematography, makeup (which was absolutely phenomenal, I thought), and art direction.
youre gonna wanna see it. especially when the white guy who eats children has eyes in his hands...ah i cant spoil it, you just gotta see it. that part will haunt my dreams forever i swear.
Ah yeah, way darker and more violent than I thought it would be, but I still loved it.
Just wanted to say I saw it. HIGHLY reccomended.
One of the most powerful, poignant and deeply moving films I have ever seen.
SEE IT.
so im seriously the only person who didn't enjoy this movie so far?? WOW.. i thought it sucked ass and i was so bored through the whole movie... SOME PARTS where okay like the guy with the eyes in his hands creeepy or the toad, or the thing she was putting under her mothers bed... BUT i dont know it just didn't catch me..
It was a movie about characters and concepts, not action and visuals, primarily. It takes a sophisticated taste.Quote:
