Grossmont high school in Cali is allowing students with medical marijauna cards to smoke weed at school.

that would be kick ass, I smoke weed to help with clinical depression like those kids, but I'm in Texas. My counciler had tried to convince me that the weed was killing off the part of my brain that controls your self motivation and went so far as to say she had seen a cat scan of the damage herself in a hospital during a study, then I pointed out to her the fact that how the hell was she aloowed to veiw the privet results of a medical study first hand if she doesn't have any for of doctoret, after that I stopped going to her. I wish people would just wake up to the fact that it's harmless and the government would stop lying so I can use my medicine legally, I also use it to help with mood swings and a lil bit for ADHD (only problem with that is I have more trouble keeping my thoughts on one subject when sober and my thoughts are kinda broken up, it's hard to explain)

I agree, I'm a kid..the long-term effects and nasty side effects of prescription pills are something I would rather do without. Marijuana is best...non toxic and non addictive...that's what I'm talking about. I can't take one too many and die. I can smoke just the right amount.

cali has a few nice spots to go on "vacation" for a bit..but i would never want to live there....especially for the sole purpose of being able to smoke weed at a high school; thas just pathetic

Grossmont High School, in California? That was in my district. I highly doubt those conservative school board motherfuckers would do that, so either it's a different Grossmont High or it's a joke. I'm assuming the latter.

lol my headmaster and head of year let me smoke weed all the time, in fact, my head of year preffered me to get stoned before lessons, i was always alot easier to control if i was stoned, and if someone gave me shit i could ignore them, usually i would just get angry, and start gettin myself in shit..

cannabis in schools may sound silly, i mean, you get extended prison sentances for being busted with weed within a certain distance from a school, however, the amount of times ive seen little kids in school doin vodka, coke, lsd and E pills, im sure cannabis would be a change for the better...

i hope those guys in cali get some fuckin spot on grades lol like straight A's...

lets just hope they dont let us down eh?...

where I live...... you know your neighbors and they know you. you help each other out, I shovel snow for free for my elderly neighbors, I tried to live in the city (about pop.80,000 largest in the county) everyone was always gawking at you and was very nosy and didnt care, but now i live in the burbs, and its life as it should be in older america where THE HOOD becomes a neighborhood and a place to live. A place to raise a family in relitive comfort knowing they are safer from gang violence, kidnapping and child preditors.
The odd transition for me was putting a country boy in a bigger city, i hated it and moved back to the country, there is a large appeal in me for space and privacy, i couldnt get that in the city i was suffocating.

Wow, you consider 80,000 in a county a city? Try living in a county with only 26 square miles with 200,000 in it. And I don't consider it a city, I consider it suburbs.

But I agree with you, the country life is refreshing in the way you don't feel like you are suffocating. But I can't live without having a city nearby, I need the nightlife.

i couldnt consider living in NYC or LA. my soul would die. to visit is ok but not live, i think if city people adopted a FEW county values, the city would be a better place, I take time everyday and do something small and kind for a random person, weather its carrying a heavy grocery bag, or letting someone cross in the crosswalk when i drive. a small act of kindness can make it better. you dont have to be a super hero to change the world, just a small act of selfless compassion for your fellow man. It goes against the very grain of human existance to seperate yourselves in society. Humans evolved in to what they are today by looking out for one another like pack animals and we are loosing that in ourselves, and i feel thats why we are loosing our citys.

Sorry dude, but I work on a daily basis with emotionally disturbed and learning disabled kids. I can recall this one kid who was ADHD and would come to school reeking of pot. He did his best work those days. Without it, he was a behavior problem, off task and spoke without thinking. His teacher and I figured "leave well enough alone" and never mentioned it. I can think of several of my current students who might benefit from a toke now and then.

Now being a former "Sandy eggan", I'm glad to see that Grossmont High has loosened up since I lived there. I miss the ocean, the zoo and the museums (even if they were in poor repair)- but the people drove me nuts! We moved after (a) the SWAT team was just around the corner taking out a armed robber, (b) my 3 year old son found a used syringe on the sidewalk, (c) a drunk missed plowing into my house by a few fee- hit a hydrant instead, (d) I could see the craziness getting worse.

When it comes to getting "legal" and all that jazz, I feel that you kids are missing a vital bit of info...most cannabis specialists will NOT give a recommendation to minors without their parent's consent! So what do your parents think about this idea of yours? - Granny:hippy:

I think for kids with legitimate medical issues, it's fine. But for every kid allowed to smoke weed in school? No. A lot of them can't handle that kind of responsibility, and could very well end up abusing it.
