my grow log

well this is my 3rd grow now,and i'm going to be doing a little experimenting

my main plant is a clone from my last grow,it has been topped(thanks to the cat)and i've just begun lst,it's about 3 weeks rooted now,is in a 4 gallon pot under a 400w dual spectrum hps

i'm also sprouting a few more bagseeds,one of which i intend vegging for 4 weeks under cfls in a new veg box i've built,i need to see if i can flower 1 in a 5 litre pot,if this works,i'll be starting a sea of green harvesting every 2 weeks,using my current closet as a flower room

anyway here's some pics of things as they are now

well she's been tied down a week now and there's loads of new growth so i've decided to switch her 12/12 so she doesn't outgrow her pot,she's about 10" tall with loads of tops

i took a couple of cuttings which i intend growing in 5 litre pots and adding to the growroom after 2 weeks veg to see if the 5 litre is big enough for my sog i'm setting up

the seeds i'm sprouting,some will go straight into 12/12,others i'll give short veg periods of different lengths and add to flower room at different times while i find out what will be the best veg/flower periods for the small pots i'm experimenting with

by the summer i hope to have a sea of green up and running and harvesting every week or 2

had another change in plans

main plant was looking like it was going to take over my grow room so i put a screen on her,just to contain her a bit and get all the buds into the lights

but after considering the way this strain grows,very branchy and loads of shoots,i'm going to try and make it a scrog,i know it's a litttle late as i've started 12/12 already,but i think there's a good chance of nearly filling the screen,i've already pulled 30+ shoots back under the screen,just hope i'm doing it right as i've never tried this before and all i've found on it so far is bits and pieces from peoples posts

Don't take it personally. The Cultivation Section SUCKS recently. :( Boo. But it's gettng better.

well i've been training her a bit,didn't have long,about 6 days then the buds started appearing,but managed to get everything back under the screen and spread out a little,got loads of holes with buds in now,might get a few more in

below the screen i also have a good potential clone base going,as there's many shoots that wont reach the screen,perfect for the sog

i also added 1 seedling into the flowering room and 1 rooted clone for the start of the sog experiment

i've got a few more clones rooting,and the seedling i put straight in on 12/12 is growing it's 3rd set of proper leaves

i believed this scrog was going to be really stressful on the plant,but have found that it never really stopped growing,or showed any other signs of stress during training,maybe it was because of the earlier lst i did,just found i never had to be forceful in moving the buds into better sites,anyway she's getting clear of the screen now,light to some bud sites is blocked by leaves from others,but i'm working those leaves back below the screen and bending them out the way etc,don't want to remove any unless totally neccesary

24 days of 12/12
so the seedling turned out to be a bloke,took 2 weeks of 12/12 from sprouting to showing sex,clone is having a stretch and there'll be more joining it soon

screen is looking good now,plants tops are well clear of the screen now and it's still stretching,buds seem to be filling out well and the trichs are looking good,only thing i've noticed is on what would be one of the 2 main tops of the plant is yellowing a little,gave a shot of nitrogen to see if it helps,i'm also having a bit of trouble keeping that top down and it's a bit higher than the rest

apart from that all seems well

Exellent man. .24 days 12/12 and it look right on track i found when you start a scrog in flower that the stress leads to a pottasium problem but it never gets worst than the yellowing of a few leaves. If you watch the ppm, lowering a little untill the 5th week 12/12 then give it the recomended ppm it sorts its self out .This problem can be hard to diagnose in flower with the nitrogen getting used up but this has happened to me the 2 times i have started a scrog in flower.You can also flush and continue the nutes ppm as normal. If you are finding this yellowing a prob.I dont know if it affect the over all yeild cause i was aware of it.but nice grow atsar and this scrog will look good at harvest time. well done.be safe the postman.

Well done atsar, its really nice to see a scrog on here. Wanta try one in the future. Less plants more tops what more would I need, besides a longer veg. Thanks mMuummmamulletman.

when i fed her last i mixed 2 ferts together 35-10-10 and 10-30-30 so if it is K then it'll have gotten some as well as a little N boost,i don't have a tds/ec meter so am unable to test feeds and run off,i've had to play it by eye and touch wood haven't had any problems in previous grows,yellowing actually seems to be improving since feeding so fingers crossed,though if it gets worse i will flush

mulletman,thanks as well,you know what though,after the 2 weeks it took to root that plant,i only actually vegged it for 26 days under a 16/8 schedule,so longer veg periods might not be needed

i've really no idea,the weed i got it in was really sticky and had to be really picked out,the plant i grew from it,the buds were really sticky too and it could be easily compressed into blocks,has a really fruity flavour and pretty dense buds,fully flowers in 7-8 weeks

well,the yellowing top seems to be improving now,she's a thirsty girl,3 litres of water every 2 days,with nutes every 3rd watering,she's still stretching and fattening up too

my only concern is i need to leave my plants for a couple of days,hope they don't get too dry

nice, thats one fine lady u got there i counted like 20+ bud sites. as for the big one, would that be on of the mains or did it jus pop out of nowhere??lookin nice though bro stay posted!!

thanks Tendril.traY,yeah,it's one of the 2 main tops,the one furthest right in the pic,though recently most of the others have began catching up

well i've been 12/12 for 38 days now and things still seem good

there's been a few leaves dropping below the screen and some crisping up and dying,i reckon they've served their purpose

above the screen she looks great,bit of yellowing of the leaves and some purple leaf stems but nothing too drastic,i believe n deficiency is common late in flowering anyway,going to start flushing her at the beginning of week 6 until harvest(roughly week 8)

the buds are fattening up nice,hairs are starting to turn brown and she looks really frosty,and the smell is just simply amazing,will start checking the trich colours in around 2 weeks time

so here's how she's looking now

Day 46 of 12/12 and everything still seems well,have stopped feeding her nutes now but did give her some molasses,gonna give her some more at next watering,looks like she's fattening out a bit,more hairs are turning brown now and she's really frosty looking,

clone is in full flower now though did get a little nute burned,got another little clone in there a few days ago,don't think i'll have too much longer to wait now

just wondering how tall is that plant? i'm thinking of growing and have a relatively small "cab" i can grow in, might be 20" or so tall.

cheers postman and hydro,i'm really pleased with this one,and it will be a good measure of what training method is better,lst or scrog,the plant i took the cutting from was vegged for the same amount of time as this one was,and as it's a clone should be genetically the same,last one i lst'ed and it gave 132 grams dry weed,so see what happens there,

hempplaya,the plant is around 24 inches tall including pot,14 inches from soil to tops,and it's 18 inches by 14 inches wide(the screen)

i dont think there is any burn or def. of anything it looks to me that you have a early producer. which is good imo. yea the N is all suckd up not needed. do u have a co2 setup if not it helps tightn the sbuds. u can make one search for diy co2. ithink it uses a 2 liter or smaller, yeast, sugar and chemical reaction lolbut cheap easy and all the stuff is in ur cubord. mayb

that's what i was thinking trenditray,the plant i took clone from was only flowered 7 weeks as there was an unidentifiable problem with it which had begun spreading into the buds,so i chopped rather than risk,but it seemed pretty much done by then,the other plant i left for an extra week,just looked smelled tasted and smoked the same as the early cut one,i've been using molasses lately though haven't replaced my mixture for co2 for a while,will change it tomorrow

stopped the nutes about a week ago now,did expect her to get yellow towards the end of flower,don't think there is any nute burn on it or deficiencies(apart from the n)though my taller clone has experienced a little nute burn,that's what i get for using the same strength of nutes on it as i did on the scrog

yeah it's my 1st scrog,in fact it's only my 3rd grow,this time last year i'd never attempted growing weed,glad i did though

well it's day 53/54 of flower now and i've still managed not to chop her

leaves are really yellow and dropping now and hairs are about 30% brown,looked like the buds were thinning out on top,but it seems it's new growth,it's on the sides of the buds too,making them fatten out more,and filling the gaps between the buds

i know she's gonna be ready soon but i want to get this 1 right,i'm gonna post regular pics of the trichs daily and you's can tell me when the time is right

Hey, atsar. How are things? Looks good from here, man. That scrog looks excellent...the buds look good (still look like they have a bit to go), but what strikes me the most is the perfectly even way that your fan leaves are fading.

So, this is a bagseed strain? How long did it take last time? You said this was your 3rd grow, right? How long did it take to flower before? If you are planning to chop soon, I'd say that you flushed PERFECTLY because it looks to me like your plants are really using up every last drop of chorophyll that they have in them there leaves. Anyway, man, looking sweet. Looking forward to the chop and harvest pics. Keep it up! :thumbsup:

Hey, man...are you considering getting some purchased genetics (specific strain) anytime soon? I don't see that you have a veg log, so I wonder what you have in the works for the next cycle. Some WR or NL or other scrog-loving strain would be AWESOME for your next scrog grow, man. Let us know! :)
