my friend bought this little pipe peice made of metal. its pretty sick so i was gunna buy it from him. the only problem is that he smoked crack (ew) and other hardcore shit in it. im not into that stuff so ill only buy it if im absolutley sure i can clean it well. by clean i mean like sanitize. anyone know any good methods??

metal is a waste of money in my mind go for glass :) then clean it with rubbing alcohal and salt.
I agree... But I guess if you need a piece and can only get a metal, its still better than a wooden or corn pipe...
i used to use rubbing alcohol on my glass but it makes it brittle so get a glass pipe put it in a cup filled with water just over the moutpiece of the pipe and set the time for 45 mins does the trick evertime and u get all non contaminated resin that u can filter
here's what you do...break it up into as many peices as it will disassemble and put them in a cup or bowl or something put enough 409 (i use the orange kind but any will work) to cover it....let it sit over night....then take a q-tip and clean it like hell getting everybit you can see. then take another cup and put it halfway with water and a lil dish soap...shake it for about 30 seconds then dump it out and transfer it to antoher cup with just pure water....shaking like hell for 30 seconds (you may repeat this proccess if you feel that the 409 residue is not gone) then let air dry (or use a towel or rag if you need it now)
Use rubbing alcohol (isopropyl). Soak over night, then you can either rinse off the excess or burn it off.
Wooden pipes are good actually. I have one and I enjoy it very much, the smoke is nice and cool and it doesn't burn you.
Rubbing alcohol just started stripping the paint on my piece... didnt do it last time... Just a word of warning...
if yo usoak it in water or rubbing alchohol how can you collect the resin?
you scrape it all you can first smoke the resin then clean it...the purpose of cleaning is because it stinks and lleaves a displeasurable taste in your mouth, or because the cops might be coming and you need yoru peice to be legal
I usually just scape my piece... Only reason I cleaned it out fully today was because I was using it to make a bong, so I figured a new piece should have a bowl thats clean as new...
dont use rubbing alcohol especially on glass it makes it brittle use a cup of water and a microwave im telling u

listen up and listen good from a guy who knows a thing or 2 about glass pipes and cleaning them.
1. buy a glass snotty because everything other then glass sucks
2. heat the bottom of the bowl with a lighter, then scrape it with a penny or paper clip. also try and clean as much as u can out of the chamber with a paper clip or whatever else works.
3. grab a pot, fill it with enough water so ur peice submerges in it. then put the pot with the piece in it on ur stove. set it to a high temp and watch as the water turns colours and resin floats to the top.
4. this part is a bit tricky, once u see ur pipe is pretty much clean, like how u first bought it, turn off ur burners then scoop out ur pipe with a large spoon or sumthing. then ull wanna use sumthing like a coffee filter and pour the resin water through it, all the big res chunks should get stuck and u just gotta scrap them off, put them sumwhere to dry then once their dry u can smoke that shit.
