joints with no roaches..?

i see instructions on how to roll joints (i've never rolled one) and some of them don't seem to have a "roach" (as in a rolled up business card / cardboard, etc.)

they just say like "twist both ends of the joint so that weed isn't sucked into ur mouth as u inhale"

...so... how does that work? i just put my lips on the part where there IS actually weed? then just not finish it once it gets too close to my lips?
i'm guessing that's the leftover-type roaches that u guys save up to smoke again..

and i don't think ur supposed to use a filter/roach/rolled-up cardboard to make the joint that way...

how do u make the smoking end? do u twist it, then snip it with scissors and create a lil opening to inhale ???

Yeah, you got it.

One end you don't quite twist all the way shut, but close it and make sure theres a little hole in it. You can test to see if it will work by sucking on the end before you light it. It should almost crinkle like inhaling from a paper bag, and you will just be able to tell.

Once it gets too close to your lips, you put it out, and you can smoke the roach in a bowl (grav bongs are perfect) or simply save your roaches till you have enough to roll another joint, or smoke them however you want.

I never roll with roaches. I find that when I do, a small amount of weed still gets pulled into the filter and I'd rather just smoke the roach.

Your probably better off just rolling with a roach, I never cared too much for joints without them, because the end can get pretty clogged with resin, and if Your smoking with people who tend to fishlip their joints you could end up with a sopping wet resiny joint which is no fun for anyone.

But too each their own, If you make a good enough opening to inhale and don't fishlip your joints it shouldn't make too much of a difference, plus you can smoke the remains and get really blitzed.

^ fishlip? anyways, i'ma try rollin joints both ways and found out for myself which one works better for me :)

ALWAYS use roaches. only like 3 people where i live do and it sucks. i hate burnin my fingers tryin to get the last 1/8 inch of weed in a joint

I don't like roaches. I'd rather just slap the weed in and roll it up. Then again, I don't smoke with people who lip joints. That's some sick shit. And I usually throw the roach in a pipe. I think roaches are more popular in the UK, similar to rolling with tobacco, right?

I've never seen anyone not using a roach in Quebec, and most people roll with tobacco, at least a little

I rarely use a roach. usually when I'm rolling a blunt, and even then it's just big enough to hold the weed in. and never with mixed tobacco, i've only see that done once, like 5 years ago.

Well, you have to put your lips on it, but you can do it in a way that doesn't wet the joint. Imagine curling your lips over your teeth so that only dry lip is touching the joint. You don't do it that extreme, but that is the idea.

Oh no, sorry about the confusion. When people say "lipping" it, they usually mean when someone slobbers all over the joint or blunt.

haven't tried blunts yet, but i don't want to. wanna stay away from nicotine.

Well, I just started rolling joints, I think i'm alot better now. I used to roll without a roach, and busted a lung because I made it way to tight.

With a roach you can suck alot more shit in. If any weed is trapped just unroll it and scrape.

Ah dude, don't even worry about that. There's really not that much nicotine in the tobacco leaf. At least, not enough to create an addiction from smoking a few blunts every now and then. Just be sure to dump out all the tobacco if that's what you're worried about. If anything, you'll become addicted to blunts, which can't be a bad thing, eh? Seriously. Blunts are great.
