Um.....don't hold the pipe upside down.
if you put the screen in your pipe and the bowl is up gravity should do a WONDERFUL job of keeping the screen in there. sorry to be a smart ass but come on.
if you're still having problems maybe push the screen down into the bowl with a pen or pencil so that it conforms to the shape of the bowl.

It may be too big for the pipe. You may need to cut it a little bit so you can get it farther down? I have only used a screen a few times. But I had to make mine smaller the one time I put one in. I find a nice sized nug at the bottom works much better than a screen.
Use a big chunk of green for the screen.
then when you get to the end you will still suck the ash through, thats why i use screens.Quote:

well i mean it stays in fine while smoking but like when i had a metal pipe, it stayed in and you would really have to make an effort to take it out but with a glass pipe, if i put it in my pocket, it will come out. i want something that will stay in.
after you smoke at least 1 or two bowls it should be in there for good, just dont scrape the bowl every time you're done smoking and it will stay in there.
i dont see what the problem is, mine has fallen out in my pocket before but its just a screen i have a bag of around 1000 of them that i got for like $5 on ebay.
but if your bowl has some resin in it the screen will stay put.
i know this is a little off topic, srry, but ive always wondered r those screens toxic when burned and inhaled\?
they sell glass screens for glass pipes at the head shop......but i cant think of anyone I know who uses screens on glass....
I hardly ever get ash in my mouth using that method. It's really simple. When you know it is almost gone, you just inhale slower and not as hard.Quote:

Yeah, head shops sell little glass spurs that are designed to act as screens in glass pipes.
I use one in my bubbler with finely broken up buds. Hits soo nice. metal +glass = noQuote:
