Idiots who ruin it for the rest of us

So, I caught the beginning to CNN Newsroom about 39 minutes ago, and guess what glorious headline they open up with. "Toddler Smokes Pot." They were still editing the video, apparently, but they showed some of it and the gist of it is this: A 17 year old and an 18 year old are smoking what is clearly a blunt. There is a 2 year old and a 5 year old with them. 17 year old and 18 year old get 2 year old and 5 year old to take a few hits and shoot a video of them doing it. Said video is now in the hands of CNN. Said video will undoubtedly be replayed ad nauseum on the channel as well as other news shows, not to mention the internet. We all know how this going to be spun. This'll be the story about the dangers of marijuana. The drug will be the focus, and not the immense, unfathomable stupidity of the teenagers who thought this was a funny thing to do. You don't give a toddler a blunt because you're high. You give a toddler a blunt because you're an idiot. Chances are if they weren't smoking, they'd be doing some other dumb, reckless thing with these kids. *sigh* There are just some people who should never smoke. Brace yourselves responsible smokers cuz this might set something off in the airwaves for the next series of days.

makes me wanna slap somebody. and people that fall into the cliche, why? you're just making people look down on you and promoting a general bad rep for cannabis... not that i don't have any tie die's or anything :D

Yep, I was right. The first thing I see when I turn on CNN...the video. Turns out it was confiscated during a robbery investigation. The teenagers face felony charges and the kids have been picked up by child services. And what was some the commentary during the playing of the video? The effects THC has on the body. The short term memory reduction, other effects on the brain, and all that. Long term? Cell damage in the body as a whole.:wtf: Not that I expect CNN or any mainstream "news" outlet to devote time to discussing the positive aspects of MJ as well as the negative, especially in regards to a story like this. When drugs and children are in the same story, you can forget about it. The focus probably shouldn't be on that anyway in this particular story. It should be on the recklessness and the idiocy of the people looking after these kids. The mere fact they were already under investigation for robbery says a lot. Innocent until proven guilty I know, but if making a videotape of themselves giving a toddler a few hits off a blunt isn't an indication of their character, I don't know what is.

Yeah I already saw this video on the local news. It does make us look bad. Did you see the video of the "giggling bank robbers" who were stoned and robbing a bank? Apparently they knew the teller and it was some big setup. Unfortunately it will make stoners look like robbers to the common ignoramus.

see these peeople dont realise what they doing (not that they would care fi they did realise :S) they simply dont classify themselves as cannabis smokers in any way, they just see it as a reckless COOL thing to do cause all the COOL kids do it, it all makes me so fucking mad especially when i seem to be surrounded by these fucking morons... :mad:

Yeah, I'm all for legalization, or at the very least decriminalization. Unfortunately, it's not the access to the drug that's the problem in this kind of situation. It's the motivations and the intelligence(or lack of it) of the people who have it. For instance, there was a story a couple of months ago about a young couple that sent their baby to the hospital cuz they fed it with a bottle that had gin inside of it instead of milk. Legal substance, dumb-ass people. And stupidity isn't something that can be regulated.

I wish I had older brothers to introduce me to pot when I was 2. Imagine how laid back I would be right now.

I grew up in a family where my father was a stoner until he realized that I was catching on to his habits so he stopped. I don't plan on every stopping smoking just quiting to get a better job and such. I would never consider giving my son anything to smoke. Atleast not until he is able to know what the hell is going on. I would prefer my son smoke with me if he decides to smoke instead out on the road where he can get into shitloads of trouble. When he is older I'm all for it but come on 2 and 5 . Whoever saw the video shows those kids know how to toke. There mom said she had no idea but did you see the age of her she was like 12. The childrens grandparents want the the grandchildren now. I don't think they need to get them because somewhere along the lifeline they fawked up and made there kids think it would be cool or funny to get kids high that still shit in diapers.
In closing thank you alot fuckheads for giving us yet another bad name.

first let me say that i am not against pot in anway. I think it should most deffanately be legailized and know that there are no long lasting affects on the body and that cannabis is the greatest thing ever created in the world besides sliced bread

I totally dissagree with you Orange Floyd. i think two years old is too young for someone to be starting smoking. The people that do those things to younger children are just stupid. I have a younger sister that means the world to me and i dont want her to smoke pot for the mere fact that i dont think she should, not yet atleast. She's 9 and i want her to be introduced to the cannabis community until shes atleast 14 or 13. I just dont think thatgood for her at all.

2 and 5 year olds should be playing with trucks and dolls, not blunts and bongs. Whats to stop there uncle from giving them a few lines? I don't agree with you who say "whats the big deal", however.. We load our kids up with riddlin and send them to school where there loaded up on sugar from the vending machines and inhaling lead and asbestos particles.

I've worked doing CCTV in public schools in MD, VA, and DC.. Trust me when I say lead and asbestos are still there live and well.

Peoples minds develope at different speeds. I'd say age 17-18 would be acceptable. However some people may be ready beforehand but I wouldn't advise it.

Parents give their children drinks of alcohol all of the time. In fact, when I was growing up I was offered a sip of alcohol from my older brother. Did that make the news? Nope.
