Anyone here smart with computers? I have a problem with my computer and i dont know whats wrong with it. Thanks to anyone whos posts:) .
yes we have a few comp nerds :) post your question in the tech forum
yea whats the problem
Uhm distorted image on my moniter. i switched moniters and it was the same so its something wrong with my comp heres a pic. Just to let you all know the way it looks in the pic is the way it looks on my screen(just to anyone who looks at the pic and says what the fuck).
how can you even see what I post?
Looks like a video card prob but,,,to be sure do you have anothe monitor you can hook up or another puter you can hook this one to???
are you using a graphics card? or just the built in one.
Uh my computer came with the radeon 9800 so idunno? And its not a problem with my moniter because i switched moniters and it was the same. And to samewhore i just have to looks really close and stuff :). Thanks to everyone whos posted!
PS I just gave all of you reputation points for the help.
yea ok. if you have the monitor input for the radeon 9800, you should have another one somewhere else on your computer built in. try connecting it to that one and see what happens.
my diagnosis is definetley video card problem i would recommend going to ati.com and emailing customer support
How exactly do i do that?
ok heres the problem. Check connectivity of the ati card. check and make sure that all the little metal progs that stick out in the spot you hook up the moniter cable on the back of the comp.If any are broke or missing thats bad. It might also just be your apperance settings in which case just go to desktop right click on an open area then go to properties from there click on settings and make sure you have a compatible resolution. Also you can check to see if your drivers and firmware are all upto date. just google ati radeon 9800 drivers/firmware and look for the official site.... if its none of these sorry I dunno how to help ya.
oh yea to update drivers you can also go to the "mycomp thing" and right click on the harddrive and go down to properties then go to hardware and find the ati video card in the list on the left and click update drivers.
sorry for double post new bong and I'm really fucking stoned.
who the hell is samewhore?
lol
Looks more like it may have overheated... How much can you do??? do you know how to open the case??? do you know how to update the driver???
did you update the driver recently???
No idea i know last night when it started going all weird it sounded like it was over heated( extremely loud). and the case is pretty big i have like the o3/o4 dell XPS
