got arrested

Sup, so a few buds and I were were on lunch for school at Chipotle and I was low on cash and they didn't feel like loaning me money, so i went back to my car and smoked like a half bowl real quick in this parking lot near Chipotle. Not the smartest idea, but I was having a bad day and I tried to be as discreet as possible. I got out after a couple minutes, went and got a couple things off the dollar menu at McDonalds, then met up with my friends in Chipotle. We start heading back to school and I see the flashing lights in the mirror...

Fuck.

So at first I'm desperately hoping its a routine traffic stop. It isn't. The thing that sucks, is that my friends didn't know I had just smoked, so they weren't freaking. I'm pretty cool now as well, my high is killed. They tell us to get out and unfortunately, I have an airsoft gun in my door from the last weekend when were dicking around. The cops flip and back up and tell us to put our hands up. They take the gun and shit and confiscate it. They tell us that 2 people had called 911 saying that someone in a car matching mine "had drugs on their lap." I deny it, and don't let them search the car. They play the scare tactics for 20 minutes or so, claiming they can search it if they really want to. At this point another cop has shown up for pretty much no reason, he sat there and made stupid ass jokes.

They say a drug dog is on the way. The third squad car with a drug dog shows up. I still wont let them search. The dog guy gets the dog all riled up running around in circles, etc. Then walks up next to my car and points at a couple places on the car which the dog proceeds to sniff vaguely. He walks over and says "the reaction of the dog has given enough reasonable cause to search the car." In my car I had a small guitar pedal box with a pipe and about a quarter of weed. They find it pretty quick and handcuff me and my friends. After 30 minutes or so of bullshit individual questioning, they believe me and let my innocent friends walk back to school... I, however, am taken to Juvenile Intake Assessment Center.

I check out a couple of hours later after getting fingerprinted and mugshotted. I'm yet to get my court date for diversion in the mail, and I have to go to 12 weeks of rehab counselling and then up to 6 months of 'continued care.' Luckily, it's out-patient, but it's got UAs and all the bullshit that comes with it. It's 3 nights a week, from 6 to 9, eliminating 9 hours a week. BULLSHIT.

I hate this. All because I smoked a little weed?!

Moral of the story: if you can help it, don't smoke in your car in a parking lot in the middle of the day; 2 assholes might call you in.

dude, i'm real sorry to hear that. that's so retarded that two people who you don't know and weren't harming in any way decided their time was best spent ratting someone out. that's bullshit.
but on the upside, at least you were smart and didn't consent to a search. and like oyu said, at least you learned a lesson.

The second my Prob. officer found out I paid all my shit my probation meetings ended, no more drug tests. No more anything I just have to wait a couple months and im set.

The same exact thing happened to a guy that I work with, airsoft and all. and all they did was called his dad. hes 19, they saw him holding the bb, a bong in the back seat, and a few grams in the ashtray. I don't get the justice, I don't know what state you are in, but he was stopped in Santa Monica California. I know if it was me in that car holding the airsoft I would of got my ass shot. Cops are really bias in my area, and being a American Mexican I did not want to have to do it, but I'm pulling the RACE CARD.

That sucks... i can't belive you got called in... and twice? thats mad weird... me and my friends smoke in the car all the time... one time a friend and i smoked a blunt in the drive thru line in Wendy's... we were litterally hitting the shit at the window and all the people around us just laughed and cracked jokes!

And another time me and my GF were smoking on the highway and we missed our exit but we enjoyed driving so we kept on going, and a state cop pulled up behind us, we got a little scared cause we wer carrying A LOT on us at the time but then he just got annoyed that we were driving 45MPH (minimum speed on the highway) so he just passed us.

Has anyone else heard if they say there getting a dog to search your car, at that point you can legally leave before it comes. I watched that "Know your rights" video someone posted a while back.

:( I hate hearing so many stories about people getting arrested, especially kids, it puts a crutch on you for getting a job with that on your record, your family all look down upon you in shame and think you have some huge problem, you have to pay court fees and waste countless time in rehab or doing other services, it's horrible. I assure you that their werent 2 calls and dont be surprised if none were made. The cops arent dumb. They try to scare u telling u alot of things and their are all lies trying to shit your pants. Well in my area their are like that.

dude you must live near me lol, the cops have lied to me on more then one occasion to try to get me to admit somthing, well i was lying to them too but still, fuck them they like seriously made up lies, the trick is to not give into their bullshit scare tactics, and be dicks to them too, they fuckin hate that cause there not used to people actually standing up to them, they think they can just scare kids into confessing, and if your a dick to them they will start trying even harder to scare you into it by getting like really pissed off and shit, make sure not to give in here either no matter how much they threaten you or scream its just a bullshit act to scare you into it, just don't give in cause eventually they will have to give up cause they realize either 1. they cant actually get you becasue all the stuff they were saying to scare you was a lie and they realize your not giving in so they will leave, or they finally realize that even if they still have a chance its not worth the effort for the minor thing you have done, well thats just my experience with the ones around here tho.

To be honest, several cops don't give a shit about weed. They probably went so harsh because of how resistent you were.

If you had been straight up, mentioned you had weed as soon as he asked, then told him you were the only one that had smoked it, he would have probably been much cooler about letting them go and giving you some slack.

if someone called in saying they saw a person inside a car using drugs, thats already enough probable cause to search the car (since you did your drugs inside the car)

thus they would have found it eventually...since thats where you obviously had the stuff

but at least you tried your best to bluff them out lol

Bro, the way I see it is that you handled it well and stuck to your guns. You convinced the cops that your friends had nothing to do with it, which a lot of people would just be dicks and not say shit. Also you didn't buckle under pressure.

I got arrested for some fuckin shake on my shirt. .O3 of a gram. That's some bullshit.

Me and my friend had just lit up a blunt and a cop pulled behind us....now, it was 3 AM on a dirt road, and it's rare to just see a cop on those roads...but we saw him.

So I started eating the blunt and I ate the whole thing before he ever flicked his lights on. It was gone when he pulled us over.

So he pulled my friend out, and he had a felony warrant out for something, then he pulls me out and says he smells weed on us. They searched the car and found nothing because there was nothing. He shines his light on the back of me when he was searching me, and found some little ass shake shit and arrested me for it.

So because of that bullshit, I have to do counseling for a year, and drug tests every 21 days. They charged me with use of marijuana but it's still some bullshit.

That really sucks, sorry to hear about that bullshit..

That's what I pleaded down to.

The original charge was "possession of marijuana." At the court, after talking to my lawyer and him talking to the prosecuting attorney, the plea bargain was that I plead down to "use of marijuana." It's not as stiff of a penalty.

Thanks a lot, dad, but I did mention that I learned my lesson and that it was a dumb idea and I'm posting this more as an example of what not to do, in order to help others.

And to those who were wondering, the dog reacted like any other dog ive ever seen in my life. He smelled the car where the cop pointed, and didn't appear to show much interest in it, even started walking away until the cop pushed him closer to the car and got him riled up. It would be like if i stood next to a car with my dog and started petting him roughly and getting him excited, then forcing him next to the car. As far as I could tell, he didn't detect anything from outside the car.

But, the fact of the matter is, if 2 people called in, thats enough reasonable cause for a search, period, and they would have held me until they got a search warrant. And i know for a face that 2 people called in because when i was in the back of the squad car while my friends were getting interrogated, the computer in the car showed 2 specific 911 reports with details and everything, including the names. I was so mad, I didn't remember them haha.

The law sucks, but it's the law.
