its up to you...if you do the most thats going to happen is theyll tell you about its effect on your lungs, your blood pressure...possibly your memory...

yes or no...doesnt matter...its all about whether or not you wanna hear their spin on a habit that can possibly effect your health in certain ways
I guess you should. No point lying to your doctor, unless you can get arrested for admitting you smoke it.
i do my doc never said a thing about it except it might help my anxiety lol

I think honesty is always the best policy on this topic, but a lot of people are afraid of telling the truth about their smoking to doctors. Just be aware that many doctors are just as misinformed as the general public is about the risks and dangers of smoking cannabis. That's why it's incumbent upon us to educate them, too.

My doc is a complete drone to the drug companies and thinks my smoking is causing all my problems, even though i've had them since I was a little kid.
i had deprsion and the doc sayed it would probly help as long as i kept taken anti depresant hehehehe

I told mine...and he was very open...saying stuff like "I'm not even gonna ask you to make a decision....I just want you to do what you think is best"
I told him I don't drink or smoke cigarettes or any hard drugs.
He took my position very respectfully.

yeah i told my doc he told me to quit and that in my next appoinment he wants me clean but there wont be a next appoinment :) ...... im changin docs and ima be 18 so no worries about parents findin out............when I told him he told me about da dumb "gateway to other harder drugs" bullshit..........so I went home and got high
I told my doc. I smoked and he just told me it was bad. My parents know so I didn't care, he didn't tell them anyhow.
My doctor infact, recommends it.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no man, dont do it, lie liek a mother fucker, years ago my dad told his doctor he smoked, he has epilepsy(he has siezures every once and a while) and nto too many places would give hima job and he was a truck driver so he was fucked over but he was out of work for 2 years and they wouldnt give him disability, you can do what ever the fuck you want man i dont give a shit but my advice would be to tell him you dont smoke buds!

When I was telling my doctor about all the things I've tried to help my chronic pain, I said at the end "well.... and I use, cannabis". All he said was "yeah that'll work pretty well" lol:D . I like my doc, he's a really smart guy that's always going to international seminars and the such to expand his knowledge, and he just spent 6 months in the Doctors Without Borders program where they work pretty much for free in foreign countries.
On the issue of telling your doc though, I wouldn't recommend it. I told my doc and one other, and I'm sure that having such a thing on my file is part of why doctors still won't give me oxycontin (rather than lame-ass tramadol), since I'm a "drug user" and would therefor only want oxy to "get high" :rolleyes:
Man get a new doctor, if you been having serious chronic pain you should be referred to palliative care. I don't know your exact pain, but pain control is a fine art form. Doctors don't want to give too much to dope you up, but enough to make you comfortable. I mean you don't want to give a guy oxycontin to a guy for example sprained his ankle. Doctors would prescribe you the necessary drugs if you truly need them. They gave me high doses of fentanyl, pretty much the ultimate opiate out there other than heroin. I gotten prescribed fentanyl methadone, oxycontin, percs, dilaudid, morphine. My admitted pot use had no bearing on what they dispensed to me.Quote:

Its your doctor. You can tell them anything. Like Stinkyattic said, Doctor-patient confidentiality. Just like a shrink. I dont think they can tell anyone even if you tell them they can.
I've learned the value of denying everything.
The doctor won't care, he probably smoked weed throughout college anyways... it won't hurt you in any way if you tell him.
i dont tell , they ask but i just deny. i guess i just dont want it to change the way he treats me or anything. im young so im not as open about it i guess
My mom drug tested me, I told her it would be positive, she still took me in, and it showed up positive! If your parents do take you to the doctor to get drug tested, ask your parents to tell the doctor to not put it on your record and to pay with cash, not with any health insurance. I told my mom that she could punish me however she liked, but there is no reason that she would want a positive drug test to be on my medical record.
My doctor knows that I smoke, and he even recommended it to me under the table for my tourettes and such. I just ask him whenever I get put on any medication if my lifestyle would interfere with the medication. He has only said yes once, and that is when I caught tuberculosis and was Isoniozid which is a very strong medication and he said that smoking when using Iso could cause problems, so I stopped for 6 months.
You could just ask your doctor if there are any substances that would interfere with medications. Try to be broad with the "substances", or go and look it up online to see what medications clash with cannabinoids/THC.
Always always always tell your doctor the truth about anything you put in your body. It could be important info if you ever have an accident or anything and need medical help. Besides, your doctor has an obligation to keep what you tell him confidential forever.:thumbsup:Quote:
