The Home Box XL!!!
Check this thing out... I was at the fertilizer shop this weekend helping the owner set this puppy up as a display... it's unbelieveable... better than either of us had expected!
It is 4x4x8, comes with hangers for lights and carbon scrubber, a second inner floor, goes up in minutes but you need 2 people, breaks down so fast too... you could just roll up your grow into a duffle bag!
The exits for wires and ducting are well done with canvas sleeves.
The tent is made of think nylon canvas with shiny white inner walls.
It is AMAZING and sells for less than US $300.
I want one!!!!

Stinky!!!, I have one. Its awesome, you should get one, easy to move in a hurry. I just had to cut more holes for the 6" ducting that my 1KHPS uses. Notice i said 1KHPS in there. If you get one tho, I'd go with 2 600 cool tubes. And I say that from experience using one. ;)
no pics here either...

I will be ordering one if I ever get back in business.
But the way things are... I'm still so freaked out... DAMN that snitch ex of mine.
I can NOT attach pics in the growroom setup threads today!!! HUH!?
But yeah... 1K HPS is totally doable in that thing.
I was daydreaming about having 6 of these in my basement... growing a 6-week ready to rock strain... DROOL!!!!

Stinky, i noticed they are using plastic frame pieces (corners), the hydro hut uses metal corners, probably a little more sturdy. Did you say itcomes with filter... for that price?
What the hell did you just do wherer the hell am i

No it just comes wiht the filter hangers.
You have to get all the toys seperately.
You could really trick one of those things out for like $1200- high-end everything.

Thats pretty much what we did here, (-) the electronic ballast...hopefully soon. Someone was telling me they are unreliable as of now??? any thruth to this.
Also about these things, Light can get in through the side vents along the bottom. So i put a piece of cardboard against them to block the light.

yeah, how high up dopes the insert go up? does it cover the vent in the inside, or maybe they've made the flaps bigger now.

It goes up about 6 inches and the flap sort of tucks into it. The flap is only about 2-3 inches wide.
I like the fact that if your tent gets dirt in it, you can just remove the inner floor and shake it out. Nice feature.

I'd have to go in there and see how high my insert goes up I have to wait until "Day". I dont belkieve the flaps are big enuf. Lame, looks like version 2.0 is out and I'm stuck with v1.0

You're outdated! You're obsolete! You're still using a commodore 64, admit it.

how does the passive intake work with flaps? how does it prevent light from getting in?
also, how long did it take to setup? thanks!
-

It took me a little bit, cuz I didn't read the directions. If i did, 10 minutes. You just set up the frame, a cube, and then pull the tent over it. Easy. I have a piece of cardboard over the outside and then a flap on the inside, it stops the light.
\A friend here had the same issue w/his HH, and he did hte same.

The flaps are very low in the tent, and angled down.
You basically do a blower and run negative pressure at the exhaust, exhausting at the top.
It took me and the shop guy about 20-30 minutes to set up, and that includes hanging the light and C scrubber. I expect that if you set it up and take it down, the next setup will go faster because the problems we had were that it wasn't stretched yet and fit so snugly that we DID have to wrestle it a little.

It WAS a pain getting the bottom insert around the corners.

phuuuftt on you.
see i did it that way at first, but i didn't like it. It was too loose and didn't let me slide the pots around...the material would just bunch up and what not, even tie-strapped using the little holes to the corners to no avail. I just pull out the ol shop vac to clean it out.

Thanks for answering my questions guys!
One more:
Do you guys think on a smaller HydroHut, like the 3x3 mini version, ventilation would be a problem for larger lights? For example, would a 400w HPS be alright with just a passive intake and a 4" 175 cfm exhaust fan without a cooltube? Or is a cooltube pretty much a necessity for one of these things? Thanks again! Rep points added where needed. :)

hey, I use a 1KHPS in a air cooled HOOD, not a tube, so i think you can just get away with anything you want. As long as its sealed from the hut, i think you be fine.

Actually I would not be terribly surprised if you could get away with just the exhaust fan and passive intake with a 400. At worst, you would have to add an air-cooled hood, but meh, that's not too huge an additional expense if you already have an inline fan.
If I were you I'd spring for the 4x4x8 though. Honestly. It's AMAZING... and the footprint is only a little bigger but the capacity goes from 9 of those Perfect Pots that dusto uses, to 16 of them, and you can cram a lot more light in there too!

What if it's not sealed? Bad idea?

I really don't know. I've never worked with one. I've never taken the glass off of mine. I have 2 inline fane one for exhause and one for the lamp. I dont know how much heat the glass saves.
Stinky?

I think you could even get away with a single fan... run the exhaust intake through your scrubber if you have one... then the hood... then out... keeping the temperature inside the hood only slightly elevated over the ambient temps inside the tent, and sending the lamp heat directly out... Just a thought... I used to control my temps with a window a/c... kinda primitive...hahaha

Thats what i have now fo the summer when it gets how here. What do you do when it gets hot there? AC?
Yeah, i always thought about that but i push air thru the hood to keep out any smell from the exhaust. If I pull air thru the hood, there are small holes and what not the scent will be pulled thru. Close, those holes and seal the light, that would be a pain.
Plus I need two fans once i start some crude CO2. That way my light can still cool while my exhaust is off.
