why do you REALLY keep drinking?

after much thought.... and analyzation... i think it's because:

well, you ever notice when you start drinking (not the first beer or shot... but after a few) you start to actually get thirstier and thirstier? (it's already proven alcohol actually dehydrates you) ...

i think it's because without thinking, you're thirsty so you pick up a drink.... of course, anyone who's drinking that night, rarely says "i've had enough" so they pick up more alcohol.... and to quench the thirst, which only seems to work as the liquid passes your mouth, tounge and throat.. you keep drinking.... as the night progresses without thinking, you drink more and more faster and faster....

Yeah makes sense. Or to just get drunker. Or because, you're drunk and it seems like a good idea. Or sometimes just for no specific reason.

i never drink to pure drunkness wihtout a reason.. and it's always the wrong reasons.... so and so pissed me off.. so and so made me depressed...

i can't drink to drunkness just to enjoy myself (i can drink to a good buzz to enjoy myself with no reason at all, but pure drunkness i have no reason to acheieve without some underlying reason...)

once i fell outta the attic, THE FUCKING ATTIC... landed on a (hardwood) floor dead square on my ass.... do you know what the force of a 130 pound person, falling dead on his ass (ON HIS TAILBONE) directly to wood can cause??? i've never felt so much pain in my life.. and i'm the king of injuries.. i'm the person tha'ts cut their foot an inch deep and nearly 3 wide, to where you could see where my big toe bone connected to my foot (literally) and walked back 30 feet to shore (broke beer bottle in the water or clam shell, not sure which) then another 20 to the truck.. (btw, i never go to hosptials for my injuries cuz of my run in with a cat at 5) .. i'm the dude that was cleaning a catfish and the pliars slip (anyoen who's cleaned cat fish knows well what i'm talking about.. you have to pull the skin off them, it's not like scraping it off on most fish, they don' thave scales, they have skin) and my hand impaled it's self on the top horn of the fishes head... al the way through... well it didn't peice the skin on the other side, but you could plainly see the thorn sticking through... i'm the dude who punched a window and slit his wrist, to a point to where it was no more than 1/16 of an inch of the vien that would hav esurely killed me.. i'm the dude who thought at 10 it'd be a good idea to make nunchucks and used a swiss army knife (it was a big fucker too, not one of those little 10 attatchment fuckers that are an inch long, this thing had nearly 40 attachments and th blades were a little over 2 inches long) and had the knife slip off hte pvc pipe that was resting on his leg resulting in the entire blade (it would have gone further, if there was more blade believe me) goign into his leg... i'm the dude who had a non-lock blade (swiss army type knife, they don't have that lock you have to push in with a thumb to get it to close) close on his pinky while he applied every bit of force he could to whatever he was cutting... i'm the dude who has hit his head so many times he should be mentally retarded and possibly a vegetable... i'm the dude who cut off a good portion of the end of his thumb while trying to make a shot glass outta a pill bottle...

i am the KING of fucking injuries (and that's not even 1/5 of them, and i mean serious injuries, not like when i fell outta the truck going 30 mph, not like falling outta another truck going 15 when i was 4 or younger lol) but i have never FUCKING NEVER felt pain like that in my life...

i MADE MY GRANDMA go buy me a fifth of rum.. (bacardi gold) and i drank that son of a bitch in 20 minutes...

point is, it takes a good deal of stress or pain to get me to drink until complete drunk-tardness...

Slip, my man...holy shit dude. I don't wanna say 'be more careful', because that would make absolutely no fucking sense in those situations..but...I dunno...you must be a strong minded (and physically) dude, that's basically all I got for ya LOL.

I never drink by myself...well...maybe the only one drinking at certain times, but not alone..I guess I mean. So..with friends, you always keep going for that next beer no matter what. And it's fun to be absolutely gone when you're with people (whether you're playing drinking games or just 'lose track' of drinking or time and keep em coming). Although, I have been had a bottle to myself like that and enjoyed myself before. But, yeah I see what you mean...if I was pissed or something, I might pound a few back...but that might get unhealthy at a point. But..pain...like the kind you're talking about...yeah, total drunkeness would be a great option.

Btw, as I read that...I was like 'oooh' after I read an injury. You've been a bit lucky with some of those. Fuck it...be a little more careful haha.

I normally only have one drink. I have been drunk 4 times and it wasn't to enjoyable. That drink will come about once a month on a special smoking ocassion.

shiiiiiiit... lol... that WAS me being careful... i've always know i'm a bit more accident prone and clumsy then everyone else... hell one time i was working with a brand new power saw.. not plugged in... and i'm going to switch the blade with the lil tool they provide.... somehow.. i managed to nearly slice half my entire thumb off with a stationary peice of metal.... took over 4 weeks to heal, to where i could even use the thumb slightly again.... again, the only thing that stopped it (as with many of my injuries) was the bone... i think of bones now, as nothing more than a stop-gaurd...

i've accepted the fact i'm going to be hurt.... i cut open (usually it's just a scrape) a diffrent part of my body every single day.... most of which, aren't anything i really coulda been safer about (that part really gets me LOL i just have shitty luck) that fucking needle in my leg tho (i posted about it just a few weeks back) that wa smy fault.. i was sitting there playing with a needle that's the size of a large sewing needle that's lodged into a small wodden dowel (about the size of a cigarette, it's for pottery makers) and a rubber band... somehow.. after 'shooting' it into my chair so many times, it managed to turn a complete 90 degrees and go straight in my leg... at first i was like "whaa...." then it was like "OH FUCK! THAT GODDAMN HURTS!"

i'm immune to alot of pain now... if you think what you'v eheard here is anything, youd on't even want me to go into all the mishaps with fire.. not all at one time or anything, but i've had every bit of my body burned nearly... like 99%... the only parts i can't look at and say "oh that? i burned that ........) is my ass hole, the spot between my balls and my ass hole, and my balls.... (yes i've burned my dick lmao...)

i'm just accident prone and i've accepted this... i make tim the toolman taylor look liek a fucking amature...

i've also been electricuted numerous times.. (atleast one was a by a 220, which can be lethal...)

Yeah I hear ya. My friend has been drinking 12+ beers everyday from the beginning of the year. Then again, he lives down the hall from his friend, who pushes quite the amount of the opposite of pepsi, which furthers the drinking. It does become a bit of a habit like weed...although obviously a worse one.

the funny thing is... if i had a weed connection, i couldn't give a fuck about alcohol... alcohol is just the available alternative to me... i may be weak, but if i don' thave something, i end up thinking about getting fucked up all day... >.< eventually i start asking to borrow money and what not just to get alcohol, which makes me even sicker with myself... cuz i would never ask to borrow money to keep my weed habbit up... but when it comes to nothing... it's like fuck.. i can't take this.. "can i borrow a few bucks" >.< lately, i've been trying to find something i'm banned from talking about here.. (i wish i wasn't, cuz it'd make things alot easier and less paranoid...)

Yeah, I've had that mentality at times. I don't know why sometimes, just because I like to make everything a bit more interesting I guess. But, yeah..if you are drinking for your reasons above, weed would probably be a better alternative (I know you can't get any, just saying). I'm not 100% sure what you meant in your last sentence, maybe what I camoflauged (lol) in my above post? But yeah I dunno, if you feel it's wrong to feel that way (see..I don't really..I've developed a 'fuck it, no regret' attitude to substances over the years, and if I've felt that 'bad push' I just take a bit of time off)...then maybe just try to find something to keep yourself occupied or something.

Alcohol metabolizes in the body at a real fast rate. In order to maintain a high or buzz from alcohol one has to keep the alcohol/blood ratio up at an intoxiced level. The buzz time on alcoholic drinks is about 1 hour to 1 hour and 1/2..depending on how much alcohol was consumed and the time taken to consum/body weight. However the upwanted after effects/hangover can last for hours.

You gotta drink alot to maintain a buzz is why I believe people drink so much.

Alcoholism...

I was at my dealers place a few days ago, and I watched a guy down about 3/4 of a 40lber of whiskey in about 30 minutes. :eek: This was about noon time, and the guy was getting loaded.

I know when I drank, it was because I loved the taste and feel of it. I find it doesn't deydrate you right after drinking. It has to go through your system first, and the morning after is when I would drink like a gallon of water.

I'm just glad I don't drink anymore. Towards the end of it, my stomach just couldn't consume it anymore. The last time I got drunk, it was only 6 beers, and I ended up in the hospital vomiting and shitting blood. The doctor says, "keep drinking, and be dead in 10 years, or quit, your choice", so I made the obvious choice.

I remeber the days when a case of 12 beers and a mickey of whiskey was just a warm up before I went to the bar. Man, and I save a ton of cash too now.

dehydration comes from ether the same thing that slowly dries up the liquid in your brain cells...
