nope. but i've had a friend who has had it. she was miserable.
Thnx for the help. i dont really care that it hurts...the pain doesnt really bother me. its the fact that the pain is repetitive...its annoying the hell out of me
Ewww Dirty person alert!
I knew a girl in high school that got that. She is deaf now...it only took like 2 months too.
i had mono, for six weeks i could walk farther than fifty feet without having to lay down right there and sleep in a fetal possition
I had it in high school. It was the worst. Terrible, ulcerated, blistered sore throat, so bad I could hardly swallow. Awful fatigue. Fever. Enlarged lymph nodes. And I had an enlarged spleen. It lasted about five weeks and then I got better. It was a drag because I couldn't play any sports while I was sick, and it happened when I was on the girls' basketball team. Like any virus, it just has to run its course. And for the rest of your life, your bloodwork will reflect that you've had exposure to the Epstein-Barr Virus, which is the one that causes mono. Be sure and rest and take it easy like you're supposed to till your symptoms ease. Feel better soon!

You, sir, don't have the foggiest notion of what you're talking about. As Sam pointed out, you can indeed become deaf from nearly any type of infection, and mono's a particularly good virus to do that because it infects the throat, ears, eustachian tubes, and all the supporting glands and nerves that supply that area. Deafness doesn't happen very often nowadays as a result of mono, but it can. And it doesn't have a thing in the world to do with immune response. Rather with the severity of the infection. (Measles, mumps and chickenpox are other viral infections that have the potential to cause deafness as well.)Quote:

well. I think its gone now
Never had it before and hope I never get it.
First time I had mono was in 8th grade. I basically slept all day and played counter-strike when I was awake. Swollen splien and such was no fun.
Second time I got mono, it was a new mono kinda like the flu, how it changes... Well I managed to get more than just mono, but epsteinbar and tuberculosis too! So 6 months of taking Izoniozid or something like that, I had no active TB in my system, after 3 more months, no dormant TB left in me. I ended up missing 2 days of school during the whole thing.
