Specs: Personal Medicine Grow to combat Bipolar I.
The contestants: 5 sour diesel x pure kush (+1 sd x pk runt), 5 Resevoir Seeds Kali Mist (both strains from clone)
The method: Ebb and Flow, Using GH Flora series, 3-2-1,2-2-2,0-1-2 (lucas during flower), 400W HPS
The time: 11 days into 12/12. Starting to show white hairs.
Key: The taller plants are the sd x pk, the shorter are the Kali Mist. I have set them up in a terrace (see last pic).
Nice, I have bi-polar(NOS). I am a rapid cycler. Just wondering how these strains help?
I have actually not smoked these strains yet. However, many different strains of cannabis help with my bp disorder. When I know that I am about to go into a manic phase, I try to get ahold of an indica to help chill me out and get some sleep. Sativas (like Kali mist for ex) I use for getting things done and concentration when the depressive fog rolls in. I have tried many different prescription drugs - all of which gave me horrible side effects. I'll stick with natures cure fo sheezy.
Are you able to grow without worrying about getting busted because you use it for medical reasons? If so how do you get set up that way? Is it only certain states? Just wondering?
Oh, yeah I use weed the same way. i was just wondering if you thought these strains were especially good. The meds are really dreadful.Quote:

Honestly, I feel a little weird about posting my e-mail address on here b/c I have a university e-mail address that includes my name. I should probably open an account at yahoo or google sometime soon. However, the SD x PK cut is talked about on icmag - it is a swerve/CD cut. If you want to ask any questions please just post them here until I get a yahoo account.
I got my cut from CD, awesome, this plants a stretcher, just be warned (unless of course your not concerned about space)
Yeah - the sour x pure kush stretches too much for my liking. I am only growing under a 400 so I dont like to do tall stretchy plants - not enough light penetration. The kali mist, which I thought would be the tall ones - are actually a lot shorter and bushier. The plants are so different that it is hard to get even light on the canopy - the sdpk is about a foot taller now and both are still in stretch! Next crop will be one or the other - depending on which product I like better. If I do the sdpk I will have to grow many and flower when they are about 6 inches - bud on stick style. The sdpk would be a good short sogger - it has a nice thick sog stem. The kali mist that I have forms a nice bush on its own and doesnt need to be topped - however it would not be a good sogger. Aight then.
I think the kali mist has an indica phenotype, somewhere there was a discussion on it.

These pics are from day 13 of flower (day 20 of 12/12). The clones that were labeled Kali Mist (by the guy I got them from) look very indicaish to me. Maybe its an indica pheno? Kali Mist from serious is 70sat/30indica. I will show better pics of these ladies soon I swear. I was in a hurry so I just snapped a quick few. My crazy ass schedule keeps me from spending as much time in that room as I would like. The top three are all Kali Mist. The bottom is a cool pic I took of c. elegans under the microscope. The blown up version looks cool. Looks like next grow will be either Dannyboy, Satori, Kalichakra, or Hashberry.
Nice buds, are your temps low enough to go purple? This plant went crazy purple on me and my lows at night are like ~45 ish at the lowest. Oh yeah and im harvesting in about 5 or so days! the buds didnt get too big but very resinous with an awesome cherry flavor and lemony sweet diesel scent.
I dont think it'll be cold enough for them to turn purple in my room. My room gets down to about 60 at night and a high of 72 during the day. They are looking beautiful though - frost all over the leaves. The SDkush are starting to develop a small cola but I think the yield will not be that high. Oddly, the small Kali Mists will probably yield way more - and they are about a foot shorter! I have two lights in there now - a 250HPS is sitting over the shorter plants (KM) and the 400 is over the taller ones. Growing these two together was a logistical error. Only one strain in a table from now on! They changed a lot in the past couple of days - pics soon!

Small - KM smells sweet and spicy. The SDPK smells pretty much like lemony diesel fuel . Enjoy!

Top left and center are Kali Mist, top right is a side shot of my kali mist harem, bottom left shows you why not to grow 2 different strains in an ebb and flow table (and how to fix it if you do), bottom right is sour diesel x pure kush. Does anyone know how to use kool bloom with the lucas method using GH? I was also thinking about trying some Humbolts County's Own Gravity hardner. Any info on how to use it? I cant afford an EC meter now so please just give ml/gallon - thanks.
Just had to add one more pic - this one is Kali Mist - notice the trichromes filling out the undersides of the leaves on only day 27 flowering. I recommend these genetics to anyone! A nice squat crystally sativa. Yummy!

Flowering time is 8 - 10 weeks for both strains. Hopefully they will both act right and be done around the same time!
Nice...I see rockwool and hydro ton but no lines. What method are you using? Are you in Ca as well? With the lucas I believe you just add in additives like normal...looks good.
I am using ebb and flow. By lines do you mean drip lines? Yes - I am in CA. There's a lot of us Cali growers on here huh? I guess we like to grow it up on the west coast. Your grow looks good too!
Sweet grow it's always nice to see crystals forming way out on the end of leaves ;-) I'm 2 weeks into flowering and I just saw my first pistil so I'd say yours are smokin

dude that plant is looking beautiful, and I am quite tempted to try it out myself. I'd definitely have to scrog it to fit in my cabinet, but do you think it would take well to that?

These pics are all of the sour diesel kush cross at day 38 flowering. The pistils are starting to turn a nice dark orange accompanied by a purplish hue to the buds. The last pic shows a profile of the plant - the buds look good but not a big yielder for its height. The cross leans more to the diesel side - by that I mean lanky and reeking of lemons and fuel.
These are all Kali Mist at day 38 flowering. The plant by the door pic is the exact same plant shown in earlier photos in this thread - I put the pic in for reference.
Cornelius - I am growing these from clones I picked up near LA - I flowered them when they were short and they did not stretch much - you might find this pheno in a pack of seeds but if you live in socal you could probably find this clone...I dont know if I can put that info on here or not. I dont know how they would do in scrog - but they would be good in sog for sure.

In one of your posts you said you were at day 13 flower day 20 of 12/12 was it 13 days from when you could see pistils or something?
And what size light are you using...I'm not sure if you posted it somewhere but I was wondering how many watts was givin you those results

ASD - I am using two lights. A 400W is sitting over the taller plants and a 250 is sitting over the shorter plants. The lighting in there is kindof a pain in the ass b/c the strains have about a foot of height difference - there is a pic earlier in this thread. I like to count flowering when I first see pistils - not when I go to 12/12. The reason is - I have found that some strains take longer to show pistils than others. Some strains take a couple days - others take a few weeks. For some reason, these two strains started flowering about the same time - about one week after 12/12 - so I just started counting flowering then. I have found that counting the days of flowering when I first see pistils helps me get a better estimate of how many days the plant has actually been producing flowers - which in turn gives me a better sense of when they will need to be chopped.
Ahhh cool that's what I was figuring actually just wanted to make sure I understood you correctly...I'm at 22 in 12/12 and I guess about 10 days after showing pistils...I'm using just one 400 watter and have the same problem one plant is like 33inches tall and the other is only like 18-20 so I have the light at an angle facing the corner covered in mylar to try and help but ehh...next grow will be much better as the clones I choose to go with should all be about the same height...

Im thinking they need about 1 more week of nutes and then a five day flush. Just started some Humbolts Own Gravity flower hardener on them and have been using liquid Kool Bloom for the last 10 days or so. The trichs are clouding up really nicely - the diesel is finishing a bit quicker than the Kali Mist. Looks like they will both be in the harvest window at the 8 week mark. The leaves are fading nicely - many of the diesel leaves have turned purple. The first two pics are Kali Mist and the last is pure diesel kush. The full size pics look way better than the thumbs. They are riveling the sparkle of diamonds with all those crystals...I hope all the trichs kick up yer final weight...those pics are ideally what I'm shooting for my girls to look like...I'm finally seeing some whiteness spreading to the leaves on the main buds...I'm thinking about the same flush time as well I don't know from experience but it doesn't seem like a much longer flush would help any what ppm did you get up to?

I believe that if your are using a flushing product usually the flush is about 3-5 days and I would say dont flush with pure water - you will kill many of the cells by unfavorable osmosis conditions within the plant. During flush, you mainly want to get the ass tasting nitrogen out of the plant.
I have a cool idea for you that you might like to check out on your first grow - it will really help you in your future exploration of cannabis---you should cut off some small buds really early - just one or two-and smoke them. I usually use the microwave to dry them and see where they are at. I think its important to a cannabis grower to know what a 35 day bud tastes like and feels like vs. a 45 day bud or a 54 day bud. Now that you have the opportunity with you own buds, try some not so done shit just for the purpose of really getting to know the plant. It will make you more knowledgeable about the effects of your weed and weed in general. I actually have - I know this is nerdy-a weed smoking by strand journal where the effects are listed down for many of the strains that I have tried.
