Would it be possible to get a darker background... I like the little pot leaves and all but I hate staring at a bright white screen for an hour or more. Turning the contrast down doesn't really help.
I just linked over to another forum and noticed how much easier on the eyes it was. Does anyone else feel darker colors would help? Maybe it is just personal prefrence.

i was bitching about this site a while back. i wanted the logo changed and a few other things. Physcoforbud changed my mind by saying this'' would you go over to your buddy's house where you can smoke for free and hangout and ask him to repaint his walls a different color for you?'' I think not.
I researched this subject a lot and my finds are light backs and dark letters are easier on the eyes for most,,,that is why it is most common among major sites on the internet...
I like it the way it is... I would like to go paint Slip's place tho,,,I would donate the paint too...

anyway, um, I'm guessing you have an LCD screen, I've noticed they can be a bit bright, I'm on a CRT still but I actually find the lighter backgrounds more pleasing to the eye. If you really want a dark background you can check out xbox365.com, I've been complaining about their dark background for years lol

OK I changed out my monitors with LCD's and what I noticed is the dark background and light fonts are less annoying to me now,,,the light font used to get more lost in the background... The light backgrounds are now brighter,,,not irritating but,,, less appealing to me than on the old Hitachi 21" CRT...
here's a thought...someone could figure out how to make an option on a users CP that would allow each user to choose their own background setup off of a list of pre-set ones. there could be this one (default) and a dark one to choose from....any takers?
ya know snook that's exactly what I was thinkin having a default setup with the option to change a few key points of the color scheme would rock but if the screen is too bright on your eyes you could just turn on another light in the room so the pupil isn't gaping 1 ft from the screen :D
I like that, but the problem I still see is Sundance (I imagine that is who would have to do it) would still have to design a new color scheme. I'm not web savy, so I have no idea how easy or complicated it would be to accomplish that.Quote:

There is another skin,,,it's called "Weedbase"...
I'm not sure if that "Weedbase" option is for everyone though. It might just be for mods/cafe members. I don't remember it being there before I was a mod at least.
Check the very bottom left corner of the page, it should say "Quick Style Chooser," and you can choose between the two. I must admit that one is a lot less harsh on the eyes, too.
But I still don't think everyone has that option...I might be wrong though. :jointsmile:

yeah i agree, now that there's no membership program in place... i'd say you might as well make the changable theme for everyone...
it's not fair just hte mods get it :p (and the few left who have a cafe membership)
The background isn't white; it's #EFFFEF. White is obviously #FFFFFF. (Also, there should be an option for everyone to change their skin. Don't discriminate.)
