My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
The title of this project is, KLG210507. This in my head stands for KL 2nd grow, seedlings sprouted on the 5th of Jan and I would like to show off my progress as well as have a place to ask a few questions that Iā??m going to be having.
So here are pics from the last month of this kids life :D (bare with me while I upload them all)

The middle one and the one closest to you in the picture is also now dead as of a few days ago... it remained very tiny its leaves turned yellow and curled up.

[attachment=o116048]
This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken... and I've taken well near 20,000 pictures in my life time within the last few years its kinda sick.

At this point I asked for help on the basic growing boards, I came to the conclusion that I needed to make the grow room warmer, I also began adding some more water when I did in fact water them the soil dried out too quickly.
This is what they looked like.

You will notice that they perked up in the next set of pictures only 3 days later.

Currently the way my little operation is set up... very basic I know. I have some cans of spray paint as you may have saw and I'm hoping to eventually make some sort of box with it and obviously paint it white, hopefully by the time flowering starts.... I pulled the lights back a little bit as to take a better picture.
There are also two fans running one mainly towards the canopy in an effort to push away some of the excess heat from the fans, and the other oscillating fan for general wind stem strengthening and air circulation.

And lastly from the same set as those above...
The 5th node is just about to push out and then that means pretty soon it'll be time to flower as I've seen Garden Knowm recommend that people NOT using HID's should do as such. I would also like to attempt topping on this plant and perhaps using the tops as some sort of start to attempt cloning as well I have some root hormones that I picked up. But I was thinking of doing this to the 6th node set any comment on this?
[attachment=o116113]
[attachment=o116114]
[attachment=o116115]
[attachment=o116116]
This is also where my first question comes in.
[attachment=o116117]
As you may be able to notice the last set of leaves is turning a bit brown and wilting downwards. So far these are the only ones, and this is a sign of a Nute burning as best I can tell after consulting the Bible. I will admit I crushed up a few and I don't mean a lot, of those MG slow release tablets and put them at the base of the last transplant. What should I do take out the plant and attempt to removed any excess residue?

are those floro light??
your plant looks great, start LSTing her now to get the best out of her, and flower very soon.
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
CFL's yes indeed About 150 watts total. LSTing yeah... more bud sites and better light to the bud sights assuming it turns out into a chica I've read the tutorials on it and I guess I'm still hesitant but gotta learn how to do it sometime.
(Let me also just say I haven't smoked in like 3 days bla bla boiled the rez outta my pieces and "I'm fucked" as Ricky would say <3 Its like my g/f and I broke up yesterday to so my brain is in a bad place.

My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
nah dont afraid man just loop something 1 node before the top and bring her down, make sure she was watered before so she is pliable.
its easy and simple, i was afraid myself but now i abuse them and they still love me.

My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
I tried a nute flush on my plant sadly enough so I figured she'd be ready to bend ! After lsting the next, the plant really started to grow and there was a double in new leaf growth thanks to there being more light. Its more of a bush right now than anything haha I changed the light setup to better accommodate this new means of growth where more light in specific areas that are just starting to grow out. Tomorrow the 5th will mark this plants 1st month of life. So in a months time I'm happy. and added another one the best I could with the limited fixtures I have till payday ya know! Two fans are circulating the air very nicely.
I'm wondering if the picture of a close up is telling me this plant is a Male, I'm just not gonna get my hopes up assuming its a female in any case!
Any who so I hope you can tell how much bushier it got from the space in time. And the bend in the plant.

I'm gonna put them to rest for 6 hours ;) Took a few pics... You can notice the difference in a 24 hour time period. The little leaves that were just coming out now have pretty much created a wall.

[attachment=o117137]
The only thing is the other side of the plan that wasn't being LST'd is sorta small. I picked up another 42watt cfl which I was thinking of placing on the side that hasn't been growing for the day to try and even it out.
[attachment=o117136]
I think whats paying off for me is getting those lights as closely as I can its nuts. Its a month old now to :jointsmile:

I mean I might be crazy but I put them into a solid 18/6 for the last 5 days and now they're starting to Pre-Flower... the plants a little over a month old now I don't know what to do :( My options, continue to let it veg and try and clip some clones. And when I put it into 12/12 for flowering do I need to have the flowering light bulbs right away or can I get away with having only 2 42w 2000k bulbs (warm temp flowering bulbs) and having the cool lights for continue general growth, or do they all need to be for Flowering/
[attachment=o117992]
[attachment=o117993]
[attachment=o117994]
You can see that there was a little bit of uneven growth in the back of this one.
The following two pictures are one side of the plant, and the other side so each picture is a different spot. The leaves aren't very thick and full not even the well developed, though the bigger bottom fan leaves do look nice I suppose its normal for them to be so much whisperer at the top.
Any comments or advice would be appreciated I get discouraged posting when people don't reply once a while, especially now some help would be appreciated.... :)

Don't worry, when things look fine people just pass threads on by, think of it as a memoir to look back on once you've smoked her.
The plant you showed is definitely a female, is preflowering, but is just fine as is. I believe it can be kept in a vegetative state for quite some time while preflowering by sticking to that 18/6 light cycle.
I'm getting ready to switch to 12/12 in a few days, as I'm a week ahead of you.

Anyway, all looks well. Keep at it!

My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
What about the lighting question, or do people just not switch bulbs usually and throwing in a 2000k bulb will just make the plant that much stronger? Then I dunno where to try and clip a clone from, like where on the plant would it be a good idea.. its very bushy on the one side and not as full on the other side, so maybe there and then that'll let some extra light in. Or I guess I could clip flowering clones and get some sticks of bud haha
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
Shes looking great. The point of LST-ing is that the underside wont have much growth at all. All the branches that would have grown on the other side will now grow upwards. You need to get her to the point where shes completely doubled over, so that the bend is in fact slightly higher than what would have been the top of the plant.
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
To clone, you cant just use one of the branches that just has a big old fan leaf at the end, you need to pick a healthy branch that has secondary branches growing out of it.
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
give it lots of fosforus high nutes and those buds will get fat in a couple of weeks

My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
Hey KL! Good job man. If you're flowering, get some more light in there.

Odd how I get two posts out of the blue!
At least it gives me a reason to post again.
This plant has been in Flowering for only 2 days so far but by the end of the week I can't wait to see the next stage of the plants life. I also went and picked up some potting soil and threw some perlite mixed that up and re-potted the plant, when I took the other one out of its old container the roots would have run out of room to grow soon they were peaking into the aquarium stones I place at the bottom of my pots so I just loosed up the root ball a little bit and watered her and took some pics before she was put down for her 12 hours nap. 7pm-7-am is darkness and of course the opposite for light time. I wanted to mimic the way it was outdoors currently here in MN.

I saw you post that Phosperus advice in the other forum too, would a commercial 15-50-15 bloom formula work well, or do I need to go after something else to accomplish this?
Hopefully with the 5 lights I have going on it now, it'll be alright to flower with. A mix of 2000k and 6000k bulbs
THanks for the help@1

I'm lazy and bored. I've been on here all day, posting my ass off.
Your bloom formula is good, the high phosphorus will cause some stretching though.

My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
nice nice my log must have been on a back page. Since I hadn't posted in it in 11 days.
I understand the value of adding nutes, especially now during flower, however
I'm always worried about adding more nutes after the 1st time I burned them they lower leaves always had issues... but the top seems to be doing fine minus a single finger on a leaf burn. I saw it at Menards, it was just a Schultz brand bloom formula for plants, 15-50-15 as I said. Man wouldn't it be nice to have some sort of hydro store close by! So hopefully then that solution will work out and when I water them in a few days I could then begin to feed them assuming this information I've just provided changes anything.
I have about 4.5 ft of room vertically, and if I took out the shelf near 6.5ft of room so at least I should be able to contain the beastly bush within my closet even with only 2.3 for width.
[attachment=o120390]
I almost forgot to mention that just today I started using Co2, but only through vinegar and baking soda, unlike your nice little setup which I think I could easily make someday down the road. My closet that this is growing in, in the apartment I rent, doesn't exactly fit together as it should. So there is always a slight gap between the closet at some point so I'm gonna have to see if I see any results or not, because if not perhaps its just to ventilated to utilize I figure. 9 hours till it wakes up.

If you've got a gap, how's your lightproofing? Get some weatherstripping from Home Depot or something, the wide kind, and seal that up.
Right now I"m using vinegar and baking soda cause I'm out of yeast:) Gotta take my lazy behind to the store. Oh, and I'm using Schultz also, 10-52-10. You'll be fine. Just watch your N. You only use a quarter tsp. per gallon of that stuff anyway.
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
your being afraid to bend her over, just like your GF tells you to "do it right or dont do it at all" now go bend her over some more while you still have plenty of time before she goes into major flower stretch.
she looks awesome though keep it up.

Hey, KL4D4. Looking good, man. Keep posting! We're watching. :wtf:
How do you post your pics like you are doing IN the body of the message (as opposed to just attatching them)?? Are you linking them from somewhere? Thanks in advance.

I switched the side of the plant when I went into flowering with the doors on along with some ply wood to give it a further barrier, painted white no less. I don't believe that there is light reaching the plant I've tested this over and over again, when I have the lights on and the doors "shut" you get a beam of lighting coming out maybe an inch wide. at the back end farthest away from the plant. I can post pics if you'd really like.

Well when you do the post reply and upload them, just go back to the paper clip button at the top that attaches them in the first place and the drop down menu will say "Insert All" in regards to the attachments after they have been uploaded. Other wise you can manually put them how you'd like by rearranging them It's a simple tag like [Attach222}
Well maybe I'll try to find the 10-52 instead of the 15-52
Hmm I suppose the lsting makes sense I was just gonna say eff it and let the plant grow as it wanted, but don't want it to stretch too much either :( Most of the Leaves minus the top are all grown out to one side at least... I'm just curious to see how the plants going to end up, I look at some peoples pictures on this site of their lsting and I guess I'm usually just scratching my head...

I measured the plant this morning I want to say it was 19" though 17" sounds better, the bia is really taking off
Invision dose this look better as far as what I should be doing with the LSTing. you can see in the pics the way the plant has been growing upwards.

[attachment=o120504]
Here is the gap around my space if you will... I can close the middle one off if I haggle with the doors enough,but its morning so I'm not worrying about the spaces. You can also see the back light gap with the reflection against the wall its a very small slit. The reason I shifted the side the plant resided on was because the light from the ceiling lamp, and the windows can't directly touch the plant because of the doors and plywood on top of that, I suppose we'll see what happens though huh!

My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
its great:) what lights and how much of those lights exactly do you have could you say?
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
CFL's 2- 42 watts (2000K, flowering bulbs ),3- 26 watts 6000k one on each side I still have 2 6000k and 2 2000k extra lights that I could put in there if I had enough light sockets one of my lamps broke ;/
I also have two fans running one to blow the heat off the majority of the bulbs and a small oscillating fan for general air flow.
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
I would still seal that up hon.
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
Not to sound like a dick, but at this point I shouldn't even have spent the 3$ out of the $4.50 I have to my name on nutes, maybe once I get some money I'll look into buying the tape, but at this point it won't happen maybe I can get some cloth or something and just stuff it shut? Theres a long story involving a felony charge behind it... I really need to get a job it'd help out my family (mom and I) a lot. but thats neither here nor there..
The plant grew up words a lot already today it was scary from the pictures this morning at like 11 til now at 630. I got those nutes though so I'm just not sure when to use them, do you do it only once and then let the plant use up all of the stuff in the soil? So the next time I water in a day or two should I add the solution to the water and let it go?
[attachment=o120551]

My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
Yeah, stuff it with those grocery store plastic bags, or hang a blanket or something.
You sound like you're going through a rough patch. I wasn't trying to bust your balls. I didn't realize you were in a tight spot, I'm just trying to help.
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
Eh its not you its me. I apologize.
But as far as applying the nutes?
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
Apply according to the package directions for HOUSE plants. It should be something small, like a quarter teaspoon to a gallon of water. Add in a tablespoon of molasses as well if you have any. Mix it up good. As far as how often to feed, only you will know that. I feed every other or every third watering. Watch your plants. They'll tell you what they need.:)
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
you wont have light problems those bulbs and that setup is perfect and yea add very little nutes it may look unharmful but what ever it sais in the back does it. i was adding ph dropper in the water the other day.. it has sulfuric acid in it and never use that crap not even if u ph is pure alkaline its very harmful and burns leaves after using it i could feel little bees stinging my hands i washed them but at night i saw one part of my flesh on a finger had melted off haha sounds gross but its very very small u can see some pink from under the skin :D
-
My grow log: Heres looking at you kid
there ya go thats better make her feel the pain of the LST she will thank you later and give nice buds, keep the ties on her once flower is set in and keep training her until she fully stops growing.
looking good
