getting mail, and just knowing it's a bill before you even look at the envelope...
opening the letter to find it's a bill collector and they're actually bitching at you.. lol...
and realizing now matter how hard you struggle, if you even tried to pay it off, you'd be up to your eyes in debt even years and years later...
 between me and my wife we owe damn near 100,000 in medical bills... well... we don't need credit anyways... if we don't have cash money for something, we don't get it... soo....
nah-nan nah-na stupid bill collectors :p

Right!
That's quite the tab...good luck to those guys. Damn..I don't even pay my $50 phone bill half the time haha.
Man...I just saw that movie "John Q" today...(I dunno if you saw it)...but Denzel's kid needs a heart transplant...but it cost $250,000 ($75,000 down payment! just cuz something was fucked up with his insurance)...and they have like $1000 in the bank. So basically the hospital just gives up on this 10 year old kid...and says...there's nothing we can do...he's just gonna die. I was getting so pissed at this movie lol. But that's when Denzel's like fuck this shit..it's time to take over. Actually it was a very sad, touching, powerful flick (as I mentioned in my thread). Fuck hospitals...and medicare and all that shit...even the main doctor is like...if the patient doesn't have insurance...we keep quiet and don't run all the tests we should. Like what? errrr...the nerve.

Oh man that sucks! Hopefully things will get better, although you seem to have a pretty solid outlook on it.
Are the medical bills an American thing? I hear Canadians bitching about money all the time but thanks to our health care the reason behind the bitching is almost never medical expenses.
School is what currently has me watching my cash :(

that's why you don't tell them shit about finances until they've done the work.... and if they ask, lie.... then afterwards tell them lol...
and yeah, they're not getting their money, period. if they want it so bad, they can talk to the damn person's insurance that hit my wife... they're the ones not wanting to pay... well the whole bill... split limit coverage or some shit, the absolute limit (if she woulda been killed!) is 20,000.... her bills alone are 70-80,000...

i guess so... i heard canada gives away health insurance in a stand up once.. here you have to pay a company for insurance, just incase you get hurt... otherwise you're going to be screwed...
that's what sucks... seriously you get in an accident and all of a sudden you owe 10's of thousands of dollars... and these mother fuckers obviously think we sleep on a matress of money or some shit... and just dont' wanna give it out... lol?

Those hospital collectors are ruthless bastards! They call at all hours and harass.
I owe about $2,200 to the hospital. I pay every month, if not every week. Some here and some there and I've never missed paying. Well, the calls were all the time. Got to the point that I wouldn't answer any calls coming up as "out of area". I knew it would be them.
I came close to hiring an attorney because of the harassment.
Well, last week I finally got called by someone that LISTENED to me. He said I sounded like I was telling the truth and that I did have evidence to prove that I make payments all the time.
See, as long as I make good faith payments, they are simply not allowed to put me in collections.
If they don't straighten it up very soon, I plan to sue them big time. They are causing much stress and literally making me sick and several times I've needed the ER but haven't gone because I'm afraid to be harassed even more.:( So, as it stands, I think I will get a lawyer, ask for a bunch of money and the lawyer can get his/her 1/3rd. And then the hospital can kiss my hoohoo.

lol i've gone to the hospital for serious injuries 1 time in my life (although i have atleast... 9) and for a serious medical condition 1 time, even tho i've had far more than that (well maybe not, but they had the signs of something that could be serious, and definately something someone would need ot have checked out).... yeah i don't go to hospitals because of the money and shit involved, aside from the stitches.. no stitches for me! ever again! ... but that has little on why i could be dying (wrist slashed) and refused to go.... more damn debt for me ~sarcastic~ woohooo!
yeah, buddy! i can't wait for more debt!

Stiches aren't that bad compared to the staples I needed when I fell and split my head open. Also, lol, I'm 20 years older then you and well,, as ya get older, more things start to fall apart.
What pisses me off is our insurance paid over 90% of the bill and I'm being harassed relentlessly for the rest EVEN THO I send payments weekly.
There are harassment laws in place and this hospitals people far exceeded any decent level of harassment. I'll be making some calls Monday to put a stop to this already. Geez, it's only a couple of thousand and more then half of it is already paid. Dumdbsh!ts

Luckily my wife has great insurance through the school district, so I am straight on that. If not we would be paying many, many bills. Cause I sometimes get injured.
Here is some good news though. Medical bills don't hurt your credit as bad as you think.

stitches over staples... well i've never had staples but wrap yourself around this then even try to say anything about me getting stitches :p
when i was 5 years old, we had a severly mean-evil ass cat... it would chase my friends around like a pitbull, and let me tell you, only a person or two ever let it catch them... the ruthlessness that i speak of, didn't come from it's chasing, it came from what it would do to em (i had someone once jump up on a fridge just to get away from it) well... one day it snapped, and jumped on my head... at 5 years old, i have a full grown cat, clawing my neck and back, ripping me apart.... 100 or so stitches... at 5 YEARS OLD! there was no anesthetic, there was no comfort, they had to literally stitch me up like a ragdoll cuz i was bleeding so bad, they were scared of me dying (i forget the actual word, what is when you bleed to death?) not to mention i was bleeding so bad, even if they tried to give me anesthetic, i woulda bled most of it out anyways....
now, i understand why.. but back then i saw a bunch of doctors sticking multiple needles in me, stitching me up... and it traumatized me... and to tell you the truth, even tho i've never had staples... i woulda rathered the staples... i'm sure that doesn't involve them pulling some needle and 'thread' through your skin, and more of a 'staple type machine' that does it all in one quick 'swoosh'...
and the injuries i speak of above, are ones that are stitch worthy... not just 'oww i scraped my knee' we're talking, knife in my leg, half my thumb cut open, foot cut wide open, wrist slashed to the vien (unnintentional)... ect ect... nothing 'small'... shit i really shoulda gone to the hospital over...

YEOUCH Slip! I'm sure that was awful and by far much worse then what happened to me. As a 5 year old, I'm sure you were traumatised big time.:(
I'm not sure if the staples were available 16 years ago. Wow, you sound like you got shredded! Last stiches I got was 3 years ago when I sliced open my hand with a knife on my birthday dinner.
Here, next hit is for you!:bonghit: :pipe: :rastabong:

You're right. Most creditors just skip over the medical stuff. They mostly want to see that regular bills are paid on time. Mortgage, car, credit cards, utilities...

of course it sucked :o but that was a long time ago... i kinda forgot about it now.... except i love to bring it up to those who think they've experienced traumatizing pain :p i'm sure there have been far worse then me, but it's still hard to beat... and i did get 'sliced to threads'

Don't know your income but if it's low and your that far in the shitter you may want to consider filing for bankruptcy. It's not as bad as having that kind of debt hanging over your head. My ex-wife ran our credit cards up over $83,000 without my knowledge, found that out at the divorce!
I was able to keep my car, Harley, household goods.......didn't really have to part with any of my toys.....except for the ex.:D
Have a good one!

aside from medical bills, we owe NOTHING, if that helps P4B... i'm sure we could even afford (technically) to sit there and work out some payment plan.... but lol... we won't (honestly) maybe i'm wrong for thinkin it, but saving someones life (and livlihood) should be free.... shit, if the they wanna get honest, i and the wife would probably be more than happy to pay costs... but no one's gonna profit off the pain (except for me :D)
