just in case people dont see it up in the stickies...so there are no excuses....

hi guys....i know a lot of you only come to the lounge, but there is more to the site than that..as mods, we have a lot to do here, and constantly moving threads around, this shouldnt be so time consuming..we have places for certain subjects, and it is that way for a reason..it really wouldnt take that much more time for posts to go where they belong, when you are posting..and i dont want to see anyone telling me that "noone goes there", cause maybe if posts were in the right place people would go to that section, like a chain reaction..it isnt rocket science.....if you are going away and want to know where the best cannabis friendly spots are, go to the travel section..if you are new in an area go to that local forum..you want to post your new music? awesome, we would love to hear it, but drop it off at the music spot we have here for that...see where i am going with this?

it is such a big deal because there are often over 1000 new posts a day..each post has to be read, for every section, everyday..they are split up into section as it goes much quicker that way..at least that is how i look at it.....also, it is easier for navigation of the board..could you imagine growing questions and grow logs and politics and sexuality all here, on the main board? lastly, it is just how we like it, and it isnt that hard to accomodate, is it? i know this sounds shitty, and i dont mean it that way, but instead of just being able to cruise through the boards i have to spend 30 min or more, as soon as i log on, just on one page of the boards, moving everything, when it could have been done correctly in the first place...i hope this explains it some, and i didnt come across too bitchy...

I agree Princess. I always try to hit the right forums. But I put my recent poll here...I did it on purpose. Just so at least everyone can get to vote. Then maybe move it (or just keep it lol)? Because obviously more people come here...and it's a pretty interesting question...I'd just like to see some nice poll results.

there is a redirect for every post moved...and this is a terriffic example of what i was talking about...if we utilized all the functions of the boards here, we would be visiting other sections....i am hoping that having people post in the correct places will encourage people to look beyond the main board here and read in these other sections...we are so lucky to have such a great board system in place here with all the different sections and subsections, and the administrator/s and the mods really have spent, and will continue to spend, a whole lot of time to continue to make these some of the best boards there are out there...

i hope i am making sense...

there is no such thing as silence when TO is on your team, and they hired an OC before the HC. although there is speculation that garrett could be promoted to HC. isnt that wonderful?

miami let garrett into talks with dallas until thursday, which is when he had to notify them of a contract change...thursday came and went,no sign of garrett in miami...this is a bad sign......

people seem to think because he played for dallas and had a decent football career, he would make a good coach....i prefer coaches without the actual experience, they have more passion in my opinion..playing and coaching are two entirely different animals....

I agree with ya 100%. We currently have over 40 forums and over 70 sub-forums. We realize that some areas get more traffic but you won't find the best grow info unless you visit cultivation,etc.......

We have all these separate forums for a reason. If it were just changed over to a big lounge, could you imagine all the b.s. you'd have to go through in order to find your topic of interest?

Another issue is politics and sexuallity, these forums are a bit less moderated and there are things stated in these forums that would result in bans in the others.

We understand with newer members that aren't used to the board but for some of you old timers.....come on now, give us a bit of a break.:D

LMAO! Job? That's something you get paid for.....this is volunteer work to benifit the community. I learned the correct way to grow here so I consider this my way of giving back.

Now if you feel that 30 min. out of our lives doesn't really matter, it's also up to us whether or not to leave redirects. Karma works both ways.:rasta:

I'm a lounge lizzard mehself...

I understand this topic and I try to abide,,,I always have since my first few topic moves... I will always respond to all topics in the lounge and if I am into the topic i will follow it,,,but that is if i am into it... I also spread hints like "this will probably be moved"...

In the end for me,,,I will always be a lounge Lizzard because I come here solely for enjoyment...

Ya got a couple extra brats on that grill for me? LOL

We know this is the favorite hangout and all but it just makes our lives here a bit easier. The main topics are politics and sexuallity just because of the nature of them forums. ALL other help is definately appreciated though. :D

hey pablo.....i guess i could just delete them when they are in the wrong places, which is definately acceptable, but i dont do that...one day why dont you try to read every single new post on the whole board and see how much time it takes you, and then think about doing that a few times a day..as mods, we have a life, and this is something we do to contribute to the site, on our own accord....in reality, it is a lot about time management...you really dont have to be such a smart ass....

Use of the word Job for a Mod is just the mentality that most share... I would assume I would be getting a paycheck to keep a bunch stoners in line...

for the most part, anything i post is lounge worthy... it may somehow tie into another section... but it's more just friendly chat, which is why it ends up here.. so one question is, is there a problem with that?

next thing is, there have abeen a couple of instances when i needed answers on something very quickly... (heart problems, and when i was about to lose it) which i posted in the lounge, i know you don't wanna hear it :p but you can post something in other forums and not expect an answer for days... that kinda is a problem. but i guess there's really nothing that can be done about that...

i hear you but that is why i did this...hopefully we can get everyone to start utilizing the full scope of the boards...

yeah...i noticed that this morning which is why i moved it to here as well...i figured the sticky would be good for future reference....neither is actually helping though...oh well.....i tried.. :D

I think I do my best to keep my threads in the right area...but I honestly don't think the usage of the forums will change much no matter how acurate people post in right areas. The lounge is the starting point of the web site, and most people branch off a bit but they allways come back to the lounge! cause its the more populuar place, and has the most activity :) I'd like to say more I really would but I'm too stoned lol

The funny thing with me...the first year or two I came to this site...I never even viewed the lounge...always Rec. (I was in HS...so smoking was a hobby back then). Actually I never even posted for years probably.

Nowadays I check around the boards..like music and rec. and experiences. I'm all set with discussing birth control, why kids can't get laid, and penis size. That's a pretty random forum anyway IMO. The 'other substances' one made more sense (but the reason they took it away makes sense too).

I'm a little older now and don't spark as much as I used to...so instead of discussing how I got so high last night, or the bong I bought, or whatever..I just come here and discuss relevant topics that I'm more associated with.

Anyway...sorry about putting that poll here. But also, thanks Princess for giving me a chance with it. It's doing pretty good..which I knew it would. Obviously it's up to you guys...so if you wish...do what you do. But people seem to like it here...a lot of views and replys.

again...that is my point...it did well in the main lounge, everyone goes here...my attempt was to start to direct traffic towards other areas so everyone utilizes these as well..in doing so, it saves me and other mods time and allows members to really use these boards they way us, the mods, and administration, envisions......:D

Shut down the lounge one day...that would be interesting to see lol. And maybe nuke that friggin' sex forum...haha...I read the thread titles and I'm like 'wtf'...I'll discuss that shit with friends..Most forums redirect to marijuana in some way or another..but that one's crazily random LOL.

i was having a thought near that... i mean the lounge is already pretty much the designated congregation point... maybe institute only allowing so many people in at a time? i dunno :p but if alll us posters weren't allowed in atm, we'd probably go find another forum to browse for awhile until we could get in the lounge i just don't really go many other places (i only go to experiences, recreational and sexuality really... maybe notice a topic in one of the other places once in awhile) becasue there's not much 'action' there...

And it's plainly obvious that those that post a lot in Rec. and Exp. are of the younger crowd. Like I said, when I was younger...I was at those ones and never here...And I see a shitload of usernames that I've never seen in the lounge. But good discussion about good topics with good people is an attraction the lounge brings.
