in the second part video, round about 4 min 10 sec, the commentator says, "the smokesman" instead of the "spokesman."
Either that or the weed I smoke is too good at making me hear things! :jointsmile:

anyone notice in the first bit when it almost sounded like the police had some involvement, the policemans comments almost sounded like he was the glass contaminator.
also loving the governments "well its illegal so people shouldnt smoke it anyway"
in the uk three weeks ago i saw three newslflashes about dodgy heroin, warning users to avoid buying any as it is contaminated.
seems weed smokers are not important, i wish i knew if there was more heroin users than cannabis users in the UK?
i still havent actually heard or read anything other than what i have found on the net, despite the nhs reports etc, i do not think it has been widly publisised at all in the UK. one paper (the guardian did, but how many kids read the guardian?)
i doubt i'll see the story in the sun, mirror or other comics which most youngsters who smoke might buy, i am positive there is a blanket ban on reporting about cannabis properly, its mad to think in 2003 the uk had over 6 coffeeshops open and hardly a sniff of news in the papers, i even understand there are STILL coffeeshops in the uk, and the police know? how is this?

Even the TV reporters have got it wrong. It's not comming from Holland at all. It's happening in England.
And i thought reporters wouldnt spread myth... Oh well, those morons dont know what they're talking about. I tried to watch the whole thing but i couldnt watch the police raids.
The government are a joke, they cant run a country. They cant control illegal immigrants, they lost their war against drugs before they started it, they cant control people, they try to control people, our prisons are over flowing, our MP's are all being arrested for this cash for loans thing, they're all corrupt, and they dont care about the country and people they work for.
This glass contaminated weed is NOT a problem. People shouldnt have to worry, but this is the real world. Just dont buy it. So what if you cant smoke for a few weeks? If you dont buy it, it wont get sold.

i am not arguing with you, but i am pretty sure the research about holland, was direct from a french government report, so maybe in france the dutch have done it. no disrespect, but i know much of uk is homegrown, but i still see import for sale every month round my way, so is there a chance its the commercial and then british growers have decided to follow suit? either way its wrong.

Fortunately the American Government is too corrupt to ever actually effectively do anything, and America's too big to stop all the growers I guess.
They havnt even scatched the surface of Englands growing, it's funny because the police were on the TV boasting all about it, yet they've busted a handful of grows, out of the thousands and thousands happening right now across England and the rest of the UK. The war on drugs is a joke, they lost it before they started it, and more and more MP's are finally realising it, but it means nothing untill we are allowed to smoke a plant. People can choose not to drink alcohol or smoke tobacco, and some can, so why cant we choose what we put into our own bodies, especially when it's been proven time and time again that it's safer than their legal drugs, and when it's been proven to have many applications, including MANY medicinal benefits. The government are killing people they are lying, they are corrupt and they are in breech of my human rights.
It's man free will to choose what he puts into his body, and i choose to smoke cannabis every day of the year, every year of my life. Why shouldi risk going to jail for smoking a plant. It's wrong. We're right. They're wrong.

how much glass is really in it though? I mean i know this is a bad thing period but theres glass in menthol cigs and no one seems to mind :/ You would think if it was alot you would be able to see it and tell it wasn't crystals or anything.
This stuff is known as Dutch Brick.
The weed is being tumbled, the resin collected and sold as Dutch Cream and what's left is being coated with the micro glass beads used in sandblasting.
To the inexperienced user it looks like resin tric's, to me it looks criminal.

Police Officers are warning drug takers to exercise caution as a contaminated batch of cannabis hits the streets, containing glass.
While not advocating the illegal pass time, Police is advising smokers of Skunk weed type cannabis to be on their guard for microspcopic glass like beads inside their joints.
Initial reprts suggest that smokers of the herbal substance have suffered sore mouths, ulcers and chesty persistant coughs and a tight chest lasting a few days after use.
While government advice already makes it clear cannabis is a substance harmful to health, the risk of glass contamination adds to the additional layer of damage to peoples health.
At a special briefing held at the Justice Centre , Inspector Chris Walton said so far it is a national issue with confirmed cases in various parts of the country.
However the Evening News has been made aware of suspect of batches of Skunk Weed in the area, with the reason for the contamination not known.
"We are putting out an alert about contaminated skunk type cannabis with glass beads in it" said Inspector walton.
"The department of health has recently recieved information suggesting that batches of herbal and skunk type cannabis have microscopic glass like beads in it or possibly ground glass. Labortary tests confirm cases in parts of the country, but as yet there is no information on other types of cannabis such as resin, symptoms include sore mouth, ulcers, chesty persistent coughs and tight chests and allthough already a harmful substance, the risk of glass contamination makes it worse"
Inspector Walton stressed that people should not be smoking the subtance in the first place, but if they do they should look out for grittiness and beware of their sources. The exact potential health harm from this contamination is not yet fully determined however the inhalation of hot glass into the mouth, throat, or lungs should clearly be avoided. so i sent this letter to my mp:
Mr Olner,
I appreciate you felt there was nothing you could do regarding the cannabis contamination I wrote to you about a couple of weeks ago, but cannot understand how you could not pass this information onto anyone else.
It is due to a huge campaign by organisations such as LCA (now de-registered as a political party, and working as a pressure group) that this news in finally getting into the press.
Today the story was featured in the Evening news, so luckily some people may read this and avoid serious problems, however as our MP, I do feel you have a responsibility to your constituants, I have writen to Liz Lynn MEP about this who has said she would write to you.
I gave you the opportunity to protect people, you decided my comments yet again were unreliable or un-necesary, and did nothing to speed up a press release.
I am pleased Police see this as a serious problem and have made it public knowledge, something Mr Olner, that could have won you many supporters in a new election, had you bothered to take it further.
Once again I feel let down, and feel the government has avoided a problem for too long, one of which I understand the French Government have previously advised the Uk about.
