BAD ADVICE !

We have all had a time when we needed the advice of someone we trust or who we believed knew better than us. Most of the time that persons superior knowledge will shine through and things will turn out well. :D

BUT !

There are the other times too,, you know the ones.
The mate who suggests you tell your boss exactly what you think of him only to discover the reason he called you to his office was to offer you a promotion :(

The friend who suggests you cheat on your gf/bf , then you realise they only did it because the liked your bf/gf :mad: LOL

What's the worst piece of advice you have ever recieved and given out ?

Worst advice given to me was "You can easily smuggle drugs through France, avoid Belgium though".

The worst advice I have given was telling a friend that he was smart enough to fix his own bike with a manual and a bit of hard work,, resulted in a very mangled GSX 600. :o

i don't really give advice very much, except on here... and i try to be very careful with what i say on here, incase they actually take the advice... i don't take advice either... i'll hear the advice and reasons behind it.. but i make up my own mind.. my decision making is usually like 90% mine, 10% advice and that's being generous.... pretty much all of my stupid mistakes are of my own thinking/mind. i tend to ignore my instinct, and i tend to ignore plain logic (not always but it happens... like i'll go to buy a sack, see some sketchy ass stuff or get a bad feeling about it, and do it anyways.. i've lost money that way, and i've been really ripped off that way...

After reading your post, i sat here and thought, "yeah of course i've been given bad advice before, it's logical that i have and probably have dished out some bad advice myself" but with deeper thought and reflection, i honestly can't recall anytime my friends or family have ever gave bad advice. it could be the society i've grown up in (we don't back stab each other in australia), or it could be that my friends and family just care too much to make the mistake of giving bad advice. i consider myself fairly lucky.

Worst advice ever: You can get rid of Syphilis by dipping you dick in bleach. Haha not seriously but there was some idiot on these very forums who asked about dipping his dick in bleach.

Worst advice i've given? Too many to even comprehend.

Like the time i said it would be very simple to get everyone back to camp after we hiked off on some trail. We ended up lost for 6 hours, it started raining at hour 1 and stopped raining like 20 min after we got back. It started out raining but progressed to god like damnation with ice falling from the sky so hard and abundantly that we could not see more than 20 feet in any direction. We found some logger to drive us back to camp. which was like 5 miles away and we had to take the road which means like 7 miles. and so we rode in the back of his pick up truck, while he was going 50 mph through the most insane rainstorm ever, with tree branches hitting me in the head and my hands turning blue.......towards the end i was pretty fucking delirious.

Did i mention i was in a wife beater and shorts? :upsidedow

This also was the best advice I have given.

You had to be there to understand.

I guess for me it would be when someone(ANYONE) responds to a sensitive situation with, "thats life" or "everyone has to".

Thats not something anyone should say to someone who opened up to them. FUCK THAT

More like 100 years ago.It hasnt been all THAT long since it was colonized as a PENAL colony.In the 1800's NOT the 1600's

The worst advice I ever gave someone was to stop smoking weed, however, this was before my recent education.

umm.... my cusian told me that if i took bleech and took the tip of a Q-tip, diped it in blech and the swallowed the tip of the Q-tip that i would be able to pass the pisstest(maybe it was me that was asking about dipping the old dick into bleach... i dont rember)

best advise from anyone... is when i asked about the bleach stuff(on here of corce)... and every one said the words "no... dont do that... your a fucking moron... just drink plenty of water"
