Indica? Sativa? What is this stuff?

Hey! I am new to the whole pot smoking thing. I just bought some bud from a guy I don't really know, so I don't know if he is trusworthy or not.
I haven't smoked it yet and if I got ripped I would like to see if I can return it unsmoked.
He said it was high kb (something like that), and that it was the best he had.
I paid $65 for an eighth.
It has a sweet, pungent smell and has no visible seeds.

Was I ripped? Can you tell if it is indica or sativa? Maybe what strain?
Is it even an eighth?

Help me I am a noob and would like to learn.

ok first off $65 for an 1/8 is fucking ridiculous. I would pay $45 for that tops. But hey dont "return" it... there are no refunds in the world of weed. it looks good but def not worth $65.

looks like you got ripped in a few ways, that bud looks like its way too dried out, try putting it in a bag with a lemon to rehydrate it a little bit.

its hard looking at a picture that has nothing to size it up but from the picture thats def. not an 1/8 (3.6 Gs).

does not sound like you know your size/to weight then, now do you? an eighth is 3.5

maybe indica? test it out and tell us. too bad for 65 an eighth, you're definitely not gonna get your money back. my caretaker lets me return anything that i don't like.

That could easily be an 8th. Im only reguarding the quality of the weed. 65 for that quality of weed is crazy. You've just started though and hopefully learned your lesson. Yeah. That is worth 65 here in LA, depending on the quality. Looks like you might have gotten ripped a little, but pretty much all dealers rip everyone off.

the dealers i go thru sell 8ths like 3.6-8 but its slightly more then 3.5 cuz an o aint 28G's its 28.3somethin somethin LIP scolded us all in another thread for that lmao...

dunno about being ripped off. where i grew up, 60 was normal for an eighth, course everything was the dank. color of the buds is junk, but it looks dense to me, tho. its hard to really know how good weed is unless you handle it in person.

Return it? :p Ha ha! Dealers aren't retail stores bro. Once you exchange money for a bag, deal is done and if you don't like it, you have to either live with it and smoke it, or sell it.

Either way, $65 for an 1/8 is just silly for any kind if pot, so in my opinion, yes, you got ripped off. Hash for that price...ehhhh, maybe, well, maybe, but for weed? Nah.

First of all, that looks like a legit 1/8th. You got ripped off but its no big deal, it happens when youre new. If he tried to sell you the bud "in a rush" meaning in some crowded area where you cant inspect/ weigh out the bud, dont buy it. Tell him to meet you in an area that you can examine the bud in. When youre examining it, pcik up a decently sized bud and see if its fluffly, if it is, thats a good thing. Next, rub it inbetween your fingers, if you get a powdery white substance on them, thats really good. The more of that substance there is, the better the bud is. Make sure there arent any seeds and stems if youre going to pay that price. Oh, and make sure the bud has nice hairs, a dark orange color. And NEVER pay extra for "purple" bud. Alot of times dealers try to sell poorly grown bud for more, by passing it off as "purple haze". Dont buy this bullshit. Until you start smoking more, dont buy purple bud for an increased price. And dont ever let your dealer pressure you, NEVER. If youre a little guy then bring along a knife or something, but never ever let your dealer pressure you.

you cannot say thats not an 8th as theres nothing to compare it to, for all we know those buds could be like 5 inches wide and 9 inches long on a A3 sheet of paper.

dont let anybody know your a noob. Ask around and check the prices berofe you buy weed. Dont buy from the first dealer you find, many want to rip you off. I wouldnt pay more than 5euro/g for what you got. Meaning that your 8th should have costed less than 30$. Watch out next time

1) kongrr said "rub it inbetween your fingers, if you get a powdery white substance on them, thats really good". This is very untrue. Being unexperienced, you may mistake unwanted shit in your weed as trichomes (what kongrr was referring to). Not to mention, this procedure is pointless as the trichomes aren't easily visible when you rub them off a bud.

2) Look at the Cannabis Pictures board, and read what people say about the buds posted. This will give you a good idea of what good bud should look like.

i normally pay 35-45 an 1/8 depending on how good it is

Well, if I can't get I refund I'm going to make an anonymous phone call to the police and tell them he is a drug dealer.
Is this the right course of action or should I just forget about it and not deal with him again?
Or should I buy from him again but this time negotiate a fair/price/quality/quanity?
I would rather just get his ass busted. haha

Well, I think its not untrue. Not too many people try to pass off mids as dank by putting shredded glass or something in it. If they did they wouldnt get too many buyers. The reason I say this is because they dont know who is a newbie and whos not, so word on the streets would spread easily about the dealer not being legit. Not to mention the possibility of the dealer being beat down for making an extra $20. Its just too much trouble. So thats why I say that. And even though they are not easily visible, you can easily feel them stick to your fingers.

No. Just go up to him and tell him what he gave you was shit for that price and if he doesnt give you better prices hes going to get jumped. make sure hes not the type of person that carries a gun though...

Or just find a new dealer. I fucking hate dealers that rip off newbies. I charge the same price for everyone, except close friends.
