If you can pretty well determine that she's not related to you, I wouldn't worry about it. Same-last name couples are not all that uncommon.

Well, what I'm wondering is if she were the product of one of those long-lost sisters of your father, wouldn't the girl have a different last name anyway because she'd have taken her name from whoever the sisters married?
