I am SO exicted- we just received the approval from the US govt to adopt! Now all we have to do is wait for the orphanage to be accredited..if they aren't able to do that soon, we might have to get an agency, which would cost many more dollars and months, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!
We started this particular adoption saga last April- maybe by that month this year our kids will be with us!

That's wonderful news! I'm so glad for you, Liberiamom, and can't wait to begin hearing the stories about your new family when the girls get to come home with you and your husband. My fingers are crossed, too, that the accreditation will be forthcoming!
wow thats really great! a guy my dad works with is trying to adopt twins and it seems like they've been waiting forever. I hope the rest of the process goes smoothly and quickly for you

Hi BlueCat- We had already gathered all our documents for the previous china adoption attempt, so we had our complete dossier when we found out about the Liberian orphanage.The home study took about four months, but the I -600 was approved within a month of sending it! We are doing this on our own without an agency, but if the orphanage we are working with doesn't get accredited, we might end up needing to go through an agency, but I hope not!Quote:

Thanks liberiamom! I am very interested. The msn email is my regular email too. We were checking out adoptions through the Marshall Islands but there is so much conflicting information..
how old are the kids you're planning to adopt? Its 2 girls right?
We're not sure yet- in the pictures they look about 7 or 8. As of now, we don't know much about them, but hope to hear back from the orphanage director soon with their names and ages etc.Quote:
