DEMS BURN A 'KIDLESS' RICE
By GEOFF EARLE
January 12, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - Condoleezza Rice came under a shocking Democratic attack yesterday - as a childless
woman who canā??t understand the sacrifices made by families of U.S. troops in Iraq. In a bitter personal
assault on the secretary of state during her appearance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, anti-war Sen. Barbara Boxer fumed that Rice didn't com prehend the "price" of the war.
"You're not going to pay a particular price, as I under stand it, with an immediate family," Boxer (D- Calif.) ranted.
"Who pays the price?" she repeatedly demanded during Rice's Capitol Hill grilling.
"I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young . . . So who pays the price? Not me, not you."
Boxer continued:
"You can't begin to imagine how you celebrate any holiday or birthday. There's an absence. It's not like the person's never been there. They always were there, and now they're not, and you're looking at an empty hole."
The unflappable Rice responded at the packed hearing that she well understood the sacrifice of service members and families.
"I visit them. I know what they're going through," said Rice, who has never been married and has no children.
"I talk to their families. I see it. I could never and I can never do anything to replace any of those lost men and women in uniform, or the diplomats, some of whom . . ."
At that point, Boxer cut her off.
"Madam Secretary, please," Boxer said. "I know you feel terrible about it. That's not the point. I was making the case as to who pays the price for your decisions."
Boxer's over-the-top broadside stunned lawmakers and congressional aides.
"We were all just shocked. It was pretty sickening," one GOP staffer said. "I guarantee there were Democrats in there thinking, 'Shut the f- - - up. Just shut up. Stop going overboard.' "
^^^^ thats what i think all the time also.....^^^^^^
Just STFU

condi rice would rather see you and i in jail.
I am no democrat but i did meet Barbara Boxer when she visited one of our medicinal cannabis facilities here in San Francisco.
One thing i've noticed with every beautful rose is that they are accompanied by many many thorns.
I dont trust republicans or democrats.

Diama you are a smart one..... I hope you can see that even if barbra was right she had no right to attack Condie for not having kids.....
way over the top.......
Remeber those recruiters are people...they make mistakes.
i think barbara boxer is a complete idiot with no genuine concern for me, you, or the majority of our fellow Americans.Quote:

Why condi doesnt have kids in no ones business.
Her being attacked for not having kids was an ignorant thing to do, but like i said, bb is a complete selfcentered idiot whom i have no trust in at all.
i tend to diagree with the republicans and democrats 99.9% of the time.
I also agree that recruiter are people who make mistakes. Dealing drugs out of your recruiting vehicle to kids you are trying to enlist was no mistake. It was an intentional act based on greed arrogance.
There are a few i do trust...
Ron Paul ( r-texas)
Dennis Kucinich (d-ohio)
Barney Frank (d-mass)

She can never know what it is like to have lost a loved one in battle because of a decision that she made. This so called surge bullshit is senseless. 132,000 troops are there..what does 20,000 more do besides create a higher fatality ratio. Too many times to I hear this fucking word sacrifice within the past week and I'm fed up with it. There's been enough sacrifice with no positive and justifyable results.
And another thing...with terrorism and sectarian violence at all time high, tell me what the hell we have done in fighting terrorism, huh? Bush's phony bologny has earned him mark as the worst president in history. Weapons of mass destruction...oh wait, it's about oil prices...Since we invaded Iraq, gas prices have been the highest they ever fucking have been! Wow, we've really accomplished a lot. I would spit on bush if I wouldn't get arrested for it.
we went to Iraq for oil but the prices are as high as ever....
did you hear that each Iraqi will get money from the sale of the iraqi oil.....
that was happening under saddam allready though............... NOT
there isnt reconstruction in IRAQ....there is Construction...it wasnt even there to start with.

Sitting Bull Now there's a true statement if ever were. Some are better at it than others. The neocons seem to have the edge right now, I'd rather see monkeys running the government, at least you could give them a treat to make them behave!
"Augmentation" thats the word Condi used to discribe sending more troops..any1 want to look up that word to find the real meaning, it has to do with breast implants... it funny how they used these words to make sense of things...

Ya lets pull everybody out! Fuck Iraq. Let the radical Shiites, Bathists, and Al-Quada have the oil revenues. I'm SURE in the future they'll thank us just as they did during 9-11. OOOOPS.........that wasn't lovely radical Muslims but our own cruel U.S. government.
Pull out now and your grandchildren will be over there but it WILL NOT be quite as pretty a situation. Why the hell do ya's think that Iran has 12 million people in the Basij? They're sure the hell not designated to run across mine field to help plant rose gardens. Iran would LOVE for us to pull out. Pulling out early.......sounds like the Catholic way of not having kids.:smokin:
Have a good one!
great idea !!! let them do what they want with their oil.Quote:

I do believe you know less about words and meaning than any other living being on the planet. Look up "augmentation" or just the word "augment." It means to increase, enlarge or amplify. Only one of its uses is in reference to cosmetic surgery enhancements, and that's a very recent usage, one that's far newer than the word itself, which has been used to describe military amplifications for centuries.Quote:

i know you dont care but i have sisters, uncles, aunts that are in the medical field(even military) and they have used that word to describe what they were doing.. i do consult them about my well being..Like 3 weeks ago i was diagnose with Rheumatic Arthritis(would not make this shit up)cause the pain is a killer, well if it wasnt for them telling me what it may be and forcing me to go see a doctor i may not know what the hell it was(cause i dont like Hospital), thank goodness for cannabis cause it helps so much , advil sucks ass,,,,Hey and im in my 30s already have Arthritis......
it funny how they used these words to make sense of things Is what i was tryin to say----- thanks for being there for me....But i thought we were on the same side of this Iraqnam thing
Bong, the Iraq Study Group recommends getting out of Iraq, not to include more troops. The majority of Americans and people worldwide are against this war. They used Saddam as a scare tactic when in fact he had nothing after the Gulf War compared to what they had when the US fought them in 91'.Quote:

Liberals have slide so far left they are...Socialist.....
I'm surely sorry to hear about your RA diagnosis, eg420ne. That's an awful thing. I think other than disagreeing about the word "augment" being a medical term, we are on the same side. Sorry you're in so much pain! Are you going to try one of the new "chemo" drugs that helps suppress that immune response? I have a friend whose 8-year-old son has RA, except his is systemic, and the inflammation seems to affect his liver and his heart the most but also his joints, too. It's bad mojo. One of those chemo drugs (I can't remember which one, but I think it might be Humira?) helped him a lot. My heart goes out to you. Take care. (And don't go getting anything "augmented" if you begin hanging around medical folks!)
