i know a guy who puts ply wood up accross branches in tall ponderosa pine trees and puts his plants in the trees so they dont get found i dunno seems like alot of work to me lol
good luck-Bomb
I've heard people talk about doing this, but I don't think any of them actually tried it, lol! It's far easier to plant in a small clearing of woods, then to climb a fucking tree and go to work! A few briars don't hurt too much, but fall out af that tree, and your boo boo will be a big one. :D

This was pretty recent and I'm surprised the mods haven't brought it over here yet.
i bet that was from the water having nowhere to drain out... im gonna stick a plant real high in a tree, it should get more sun then, im just wondering if i should... i dont wanna go climbing trees when im high lolQuote:

Ha ha ha. Nasty hairy hippy chicks! That was probably the funniest part of that flick.
I think my buddy bcchronic here has a CC with an article on growing in trees. Anyone want I should scan it and post it here as a jpeg? I'll try and get him to bring it over.
Alright well if no one objects then here it is.
The part that's cut off in the first pic are just 2 labels. One for the main water tube and one for the nipples on the end of it.
There is a book totally devoted to growing in trees.
Invisible Marijuana and Psychedelic Mushroom Gardens by Robert
Bunch.
Check Amazon as it is out of print.
this is some heavy guerrilla brass tacks shit :)
First, If you try growing in trees, I hope that you have the very best of results possible. However, it really sounds like a hell of a lot of effort per plant to me. Take it from someone who has tried just about every kind of spot for more than 10 yrs now, the best spots are in thick brush. Thick brush, thorns, vines, blackberries, etc. Stuff thats thick and nasty and that nobody is going to go walking through it for no apparant reason. Places that are snake magnets, insect infestations, poisen ivy, etc. Places that you can go in and clear out a small patch and do it without being seen from outside of it. Your best friends are a shovel, a pair of sharp pruning shears, a small hand type tree saw, and most important a pair of thorn proof chaps. Clear out and dig up a patch big enough for like 1-3 plants. Stay away from swampy areas too, its nothing but mold problems at the end of it all. I hope you have good results wherever you decide to plant.
wow cool topic, if i move to a house with trees in the back yard, ill try this, but ill probably just mount big pots up in the foliage
waaay to much effort i tink! not worth it! :) plus if u fell out the tree stoned and some 1 walks past by chance its more than slightly obvious lol
It's a nice dream but nearly impossible to do just for the water transportation alone. I'm sure that 2 week old plant that died went from lack of water rather than too much as dead wood is very porous. You guys just can't stick a plant in the ground and expect it to grow on its own. It'd be nice but it just doesn't work like that. It takes a lot of thought and planning (reality-type planning over the pipe dream kind) to bring in a crop, not to mention time, sweat and a few bucks always helps too...
i grow in pine trees, and i've been doing it for six years. there are 2 gallon hanging bags you can buy that have five holes for plants to grow out of, i tape em all closed but the top one. fill it with fox farm ocean and take em to the top. i put two plants in each tree and i mostly use feminzed seeds for this. put a bucket at the top with two hoses runnin down to your plant bags, if it dosen't rain for a week or so just go water em, other than that the bucket will catch rain water.
you may think this is alot of work, but it's not, i check my plants prolly four times a summer on average, and i've never seen a deer climbing a tree.
i've lost more pot to deer than i have to assholes
