Moms Going Crazy

so basically, im late to school every day and the school gets me in trouble for that wich pisses my mom off...then today i decided to tell my mom that im sick wich usually works very easily bc my mom is at work and cant prove me wrong...the problem is this time my mom snapped, she started going crazy bc my grades suck and im almost failing a lot of classes and refused to call school, i finally convinced her to call school, but now shes saying she wants me 2 see the school psychologist and set up a meeting with the principle...and she said when she gets home were gunna have a long talk, she thinks im depressed and stuff even though im the happiest guy i know...so basically my moms flipping out n wants to kill me when i get home, what do u guys think i should do to make things better?

Put yourself in your mom's position... can you imagine how hard it is to deal with a teenager who can't be bothered getting to school on time everyday, while she's at work and can't be holding your hand and making sure you're being a responsible young adult? Is she a single parent? If so, that's even worse... that means she's working to support you guys, and all she asks of you in return is to man up a little bit and fulfill what few obligations you have as a teenager. When you grow up, have a real job, a real family, a real mortgage to take care of, going to school won't seem so bad. So you asked what you can do to make it better... how about making sure you get to school on time every day for the rest of the school year so your mom doesn't have to worry about it all the time? I'm sure she's at her wit's end, hence the suggestion to see the school psychologist. She thinks you're depressed because you seem incapable of completing everyday activities and you're failing classes! Get with the program, dude.

ya, stop being lazy about school. Finish that first then be a lazy stoner if you want, BUT you wont amount to crap if you don't finish school.

maybe you should just get to school on time and avoid all this headache...?

I was in your situation once, except my mother never intervened, and my school didn't bother to call her, they called me when i was in trouble? my year level co-ordinators would call my mobile when i wasn't at school to talk about my behaviour. go figure.

lol trust im a little fucker when to getting up for school in the morning lol, i woke up at 9:20 this morning and my mock GCSE's started at 9 lo, but im doing alright with my grades a-c's

Late for school every day, cutting out faking sick, grades suck, failing classes. Your mother isn't the one with problems here. How's she doing at HER job? School is your job.

Get up on time, and go to school. Your mom is doing nothing wrong as she's just concerned. Come on, if you were a parent, and your child was failing most of his classes, not going to school on time, and pretending to be sick, not going to school at all, what would you think?

Not hard to figure out why your mom is getting mad, so I suggest you apologize, go to school on time, and bring your grades up. Your mom and no one else will do that for you, so do it.

Do this by going to school, and getting good grades so that some place will hire you when you're done. Jeez, they make it so easy nowadays. All you gotta do is show up and not be a dick and you'll pass. I guess you're having trouble with both those conditions.

Purp haze...your going to find that primary education handy one day. Put in your time and get something out of it. Public education as a good deal for the money.

I just want to say this. When I was 16, I quit school. I didn't get along with the kids, the teachers, and I can tell you this, it was the biggest mistake I ever made. For one, I didn't graduate until I was 22. I was too old to go to public school so I had to go to a college, at $400 per course. What, it's like $125 these days for all your books and classes in school?

It cost me a ton of cash in the end, from my own pocket. You quit school, don't expect mom and dad to pay for your future schooling so you get somehwere. I worked shitty jobs for 6yrs. You can't get any other jobs other than hard, grunt work for shitty pay. Breaking your back for $10/hr while others have cushy jobs with an education for triple that.

Not to forget when an employer asks if I have a diploma, and I give him an equiv. to. Then the questions come out, "why didn't you finish high school, etc?" then they think you may have some issues because it took you until age 22 to do it.

What I'm saying is, I hated high school, and I wish I would have just put up with it and finished. Take it from someone who messed up but managed to recoupe, don't quit school! H.S is only 3 or 4 years of your life. It will pay off in the end.

im not that bad...im not failing out i get like bs and cs and the occasional d, but what pisses off my mom is that i can be a straight a student...but i definitely plan on going 2 college and all that

That's kinda weird man, because I'm in B.C. and upgrading my highschool biology and math through the college right now, I'm 21, and all they needed was a $30 registration fee for the whole thing. You can't just "get through" anything and expect more than lame results, you have to WANT to succeed at what you're doing. If you really want to get somewhere in life, simply devote yourself to that goal and embrace what you inevitably have to do with all your being. So long as you keep pushing the direction of your life down the right path, and never stop pushing, you can suceed. The journey is what really matters, not the goal at the end.

im not allowed in school until im done talking with my shrink, which will be when im off of probation.
i direct my own learning, i learn what i want to learn, not what some bullshit school teaches with their biased fucking education.

You know i use to be like you...but i finally realized that if my ass dont grow up and start doing things for myself and my future im gonna be a low life good for nothing loser. and my family is pretty much broken - my brother dropped out, tried ot get his GED twice but was too lazy to go 3 days a week for school...night school.. and my dad works at mcdonalds. my mom..still unemployed(dont see her much, and my bro 'lives with her' but not really)
and i want to be the first in my family to be succesful. but anyways a couple months ago i was faking sick whever i could, failing all my classes. just coming into class and doing nothing.
now im doing much better...and lol somewhat i feel smarter ;)
see hear i worked at mc'daonalds my self for about a year. sooo..jobs suck. (least fast food) and im influenced to go to medical school and stuff... anyways.

Belive me it does catch up with you when you leave and you cant get a decent job and the money sucks.. Damn man, if you plan on going to college you'd better start getting your shit together now. College has a way of weeding out the fuck-ups really fast. Nobody's going to hold your hand, bring you to class, and let your mommy know if you don't show up. I had proffs that would lock the door after class started so if you were late that was it. There were a few who even did it for finals and, when the final counted for 50-100% of the grade, if you were late you were fucked. The way they see it is that there are plenty of people there that want to learn and they won't tolerate distractions from those that don't.

Seriously dude, high school isn't shit. 10 years from now you're going to look back and realize just how easy it is compared to real life. Your Mom knows this and just wants to make sure you're prepared. Cut her some slack and listen to what she has to say.
