Is eating buds straight as effective as cooking with them?
I've been smoking weed almost every day for the past 2 years, but not excessively, maybe about a bowl or two per day in an average-sized glass pipe. I've noticed that every now and then, I get a little short of breath. I don't smoke tobacco so that's not causing it. Anyways, I've decided to stop smoking weed and eat it instead. I'm too lazy to cook with my weed though. Is eating the buds raw an effective way to get high, or will I just be wasting my buds? Do people make brownies and cookies with their weed simply because it's a more pleasant way to eat weed, or does it do something that helps the body take in the THC? I'm looking at my buds right now and I want to get high without hurting my lungs or stinking up the oven with a weed smell that I'm sure the family won't appreciate. Is it effective for me to just eat the buds as they are?

wont get you high, your body can't metabolize THC on its own.
when you cook it, it gets dissolved into fat/oils which your body can dissolve.

Easy answer... hell no. Just go for a tour and smoke a joint.

Cooking won't make your stove smell at all. Eating the weed will get you high, but it takes a loooot, like, a hell of alot. So much, you'd be wasting incredible amounts of money on just getting high once or twice a week. If your that worried about your lungs, like anyone on this site who knows will tell you, get a vaporise. Does absolute jack to damage your throat, and there's virtually no smell what so ever.
This has been repeated so many times, lol
You can get good quality, to great quality vaporizers online, or you can make a cheap ass one out of a light bulb. While a light bulb vape will work very effectively, they're a pain in the ass. You have to hold a lighter under it for a long time, your fingers start to burn, and the hit's aren't that big.
Peace n' good luck, :rastasmoke:
Edit: Eating weed straight is looked upon as one of the dumbest things you can do as a stoner. You may as well stick it in your ass and hope to get high

Oops lol, I meant eating it straight without cooking it. I can see how you read it that way.
And YO! Did you microwave the leary biscuits? or oven? I really want to see if they can be made in the microwave. I would make them every day.... three times a day.

Two options: Get a vaporizer (a handheld one might even be okay for you, since you don't smoke that much) or make quick easy recipes, like firecrackers. Refer to the recipes forum, theres a thread there with a very good description of how to make them.

No it has to be cooked in smothing fatty in order to get you high. Plus you will blow through more weed than you would if you smoked it. Plus with eating (cooked weed) the high lasts a lot longer than smoking. Expect to be high for about 5 hours after eating it. It just isn't practical unless you only plan on getting high every now and than.
