Wow, u really lucked out..
i have to watch out for her
when i drink shots of tequia
sometimes i dip my finger and rub her lips
and she wants a shot to her neck
she drinks the mouthwash
have you seen that flick "leaving las vegas"
where the guy buys all those bottles
thats how i picture her when she gets older
Yeah, my little girl likes her cold medicine. The other night she saw the cabinet open and was like "Daddy, I want some purple yao (Chinese for medicine)" I told her it was only for when she was sick and without missing a beat she looks up at me and gives this fake little cough.
Veggies are a bit tougher. She loves broccoli and a Chinese vegetable called gailan but that's about it. Needless to say I eat a shitload of broccoli and gailan. Fruits are all good though, especially apples and watermelon. She's also a tofu fiend and will gobble it down like there's no tomorrow, especially this one type of super spicy Chinese tofu.
Strangely she's quite picky when it comes to candy. She likes good(as in expensive) dark chocolate but nothing else. Offer her a gummy bear and she'll run away. Weird.
That's great! My kids also like their medicine, and fruits and veggies.
My ds (dear son) takes Claritan for a dust mite allergy, he loves the grape flavor too. He is a huge fan of blueberries, strawberries, and grapes!
My dd (dear daughter) gets excited when she sees the Motrin if she's teething, and our natural remedies aren't cutting it. And her favorite foods also include grapes, strawberries, melon, peas, corn and potatoes.
My dd also loves the smell of pot! :lol
my kids like medicine and veggies too i thought they were the only ones lol

he loved banana's like LOVED them, but he can't have them anymore, they give him hives.... he loves apple juice too... he goes crazy for fruit cocktail... haven't tried him on many fresh fruits yet.... he loves beans too, like the bean and bacon soup... lol he loves mashed taters as well..
as for medicine... depends.. there's one he makes this totally disgusted face at.. then there's all the other ones.. one he's even went "mmmm *nods his head yes*" if he's crying cuz he's miserable, and i go to give him medicine, as soon as he sees it in my hand he runs over to me... or if my grandparents are holding him, and he's crying and screaming, he shuts right up when he sees the stuff.
Whoa...
I think I understand, at least a little bit, why my father has always told me I should have kids eventually...
Just reading you guys talk about it... especially friendowl or slipknot from previous postings...
It's worth every moment of stress or pain in the end isn't it??
it sure is....and i'm the one that went through 27 hrs of hell just to bring slips hellspawn into the world...
after my leg got broken, he'd bring our son in the room...and i'd have been crying, and as soon as my lil boy would smile at me and go "joo joo joo, yeah yeah" it made all the bad shit disappear...at least for awhile :)
You broke your leg during labor? That's hardcore. A misplaced kick at the father perhaps??Quote:

no she broke her leg when some idiot ran into her in a parking lot and pinned her up a against a brick wall, they actually jumped the car up onto the side walk, they were going atleast 30.. they pulled in, and you could tell they were drunk/high (THE FUCKING COPS DIDIN'T EVEN DO A FIELD SOBRIETY TEST!!!! SHE GOT OFF SCOTT-FUCKING-FREE... SHE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A PERMIT MUCH LESS A LISCENSE!!!!) they went to hit the breaks to stop, but slammed on the gas instead.... fuck man, this shit still pisses me straight the fuck off.... i swear to god if i hadn't had to hold my wife and be there for her... i woulda beat both of them (she had her bf in the car as well) unconscience, woke them up and did it all over again... just like you can't describe how deeply rooted your love for your child is.... i can't explain the anger.. rage.. FURY i felt... ok i gotta get my mind on something else....Quote:

My daughter, this really makes me smile, has been eatting fresh fruit salad every day for a week!!! She LOVES cantelope, and honeydew, and pineapple, red grapes!! YUM!! She even askes for seconds. She's 16 months old (as of yesterday)
And of course, lets not leave out our mama milk! She only nurses to go to sleep anymore, but boy does she love it. She's transitioning to 1 nap a day, but still nurses when she'd go down for her 2nd nap. And she just looks up at me and gives me a sleepy little smile in between sips, it's so sweet!
Damn Slip (and BabySnook, of course)!! I kinda figured it wasn't during childbirth, although it woulda made an awesome story if it was, but that's just fucked up. I can certainly imagine the rage you felt. Having to choose between staying with your hurt wife and beating the shit out of the people responsible must have been an unbeliveably hard choice to make. Damn! I just can't imagine.Quote:

Reading this thread makes me so excited about being a parent- although my kids will be a bit older, coming from Africa etc means we will have interesting food issues too- although eating bugs might not be as common among kids from this country! I have heard sad/funny stories about other people whose kids came from a 3rd world country, and they tend to snack on lots of creepy crawly critters! I hope I won't have to fence off the koi pond :)
It's good to hear that many kids actually like veggies and fruit- I really want to provide a healthy diet, since our girls will have to catch up developmentally. I'm also setting up a little gym downstairs, and I am hoping the kids will want to work out when I do- has anyone here ever worked out with their kids?
Hearing about babies makes my heart ache a little, so I have to go pick up my kitty cat sugaray and nuzzle him. We decided on older kids because of our ages and other reasons, but that twinge never goes away. That's okay. I can sublimate it-
I'm so glad there is a forum of parents I can relate to. I visit one for adoption, but frankly everyone brings too much religion into the mix- I am not against Christianity- but when everything is because of Jesus, I get weary. Hope I haven't offended anyone! I prefer to see the bounty of the universe in the sacred plant  and the eyes of a child!
