I've been listening to the Beatle's a lot lately, got their discography.
Hate to tell you this, LazySmoking, but "Mrs. Robinson" isn't a Beatles song. It's a Simon and Garfunkel song. It was written by Paul Simon.
My favorite Beatles song? Probably "Hey Jude" or "The Long and Winding Road."

I've never cared much for the Beatles though. They were teeny bopper, pansy ass pop music. I never found it that rockin, ever.
I was always into the Stones and Zeppelin rather than the Beatles. The Beatles back then are no different than liking Britney Spears today. That's just me though. :)

There is another Beatles tune I really like, but I can't remeber the name. All I remeber of it is piano at the beginning, and it was in that tripped out movie The Yellow Submarine. It has Pual singing in it though.

i love the rolling stones, i love led zeppelin, but the beatles had such depth to the music, 3 of them where great song writers, im not a big fan of ringos writing, 3 of them could sing really well, and they could all play their instraments very well, i think george is such an underrated guitarist

All I know is that Beatles aren't around anymore, neither are The Kinks, and the Stones are still rocking out at ages 60, so they must be something right. Although I never listen to their new stuff.
I really enjoy John Lennon's work on his own. The Beatles started quite young I believe, at age 17 I think, something like that, so of course their early work will be directed towards a younger audience, which is pop music. Their later workings when they all found their own identity, some good songwriting was done. I actually have The Beatles Anthology 2 CD here, and I do enjoy it. It was their early workings I didn't care for. It was too sweet for me, but a few albums later they were growing and maturing in songwriting.
We all have our own tastes, and I was just saying mine. I agree, some songs Plant has written have been fairy, but that is simlair to the Beatles early workings too.

John Lennon was having problems with his first wife during this album, nobody knew about his first wife to keep the band seem like they were bachelors or whatever. I think the problems in his life reflect the lyrics.
When he started to grow up and got out of being a pop image, I think his lyrics def. reflected the problems in his life. That's why I like him the most out of them all. When he went on his own he was making music for a cause, not for an image.Quote:
