i hardly ever cough when i toke but i just depends on what strain ur smoking some are more harsher than others and as for psychology i love studyin people the way they are the way they act the human mind is such an intresting thing if i was smart enough i would go to uni but im not so i'll just stick to growing and getting stoned lol
coughing has nothing to do with getting high, coughing makes u light headed, try having a cough attack randomly without smoking, youll feel light headed, add the weed and people think it feels like stronger weed when its not :D
also im a psychology major
Cough hard enough you will get a headache. Then you will be battling a headache while stoned.
Heyyy YEahh Pixel you were what I was fishing for on the side, hey
What is doing that route like?
How hard is it for a slightly above average student (but gifted for psychology and a certain sense of social intelligence, of which i've only recently discovered)to do well in a course like that?
whoa... harold and kumar...
well psychology is a broad and actually pretty vague field.. think of it liek a tree
youve got biological psychology involving the actual anatomy of the brain and how it works.. neural activity and such. research in this field involves a shit load of machines and mathematics. your classic white doctor's robe / clipboard researcher
then you've got your social psychologist who studies not what happens inside the brain but what the brain causes to happen on the outside of the body. social psychologists study how people think on their own, in groups, in certain emotional situations, etc. social psychologists usually end up in some type of therapy, whether it be a classic brown couch listener or disaster scene psychologist
another faction would be cognitive psychology which is a bit of a mix of the two. this section is populated by mostly behavioralists which believe human action is based on a mix of inherited traits, instinct, and environment. basically you are a product of your past experiences.
in each of these fields there are certain views and theories as to how the brain works.. consider them like the political views of psychology. since its such a new science there isn't that much set in stone yet, so a lot of speculation is still present. these are biological, behavorial, and humanist. then to each of these there is a different approach you can take (evolutionary, psychodynamic, cognitive, etc)
as far as the actual courses it's really just how dedicated you are. it's a fuck load of classic reading/remembering but it's extremely competitive and do not plan on going anyhwere at all in the field without at least a master's degree and preferably (very) a doctorate. so plan on being in school for a long time, working hard well the communication majors party their asses off, and paying loans up the ass if you plan on going to a good school. and if you do, take it from me, don't waste money on getting a bachelors at some ivy league joint, get your bachelors at a state school and dominate their courses and get your graduate at a nicer school.. you can put both degrees up on your office wall and people ALWAYS ask 'where he got his masters/doctorate' not 'where'd he go for that bachelors degree'
couple questions, what grade are you in right now? have you taken your SATs yet? how'd you do? especially on the reading section
I hardly ever cough. Gotta love bubblers =]
I prefer philosophy to psychology, each to their own.
i cough somtimes but not too much when i do cough i hate it. And that sounds really intresting i dunno if i'd wanna go to school for it but prolly be somthing fun to look up some time and read bits an pieces about.
I'm also a psychology major, I plan on getting a PhD/PsiD in Clinical Psychology, hopefully to help children if I can (In normal terms this means I'll be working with kids who have schizophrenia/bipolar/etc.)
I find cognitive psychology interesting, why people think the way they do. Biological Psych is OK but I'm not into Anatomy... Obviously all the clinical psych stuff I eat up.
Here's one article I recently found very interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases
I always take little bong hits so I don't cough. I don't enjoy coughing at all! Who would?
yeah I'll cough when I grow a vagina
I usually don't cough when I get high but for some odd reason I find that when ever I do smoke so much at one time that I do end up coughing..I end up getting higher than I usually do when I don't cough . And I don't mean a little cough, I mean like 20 seconds of straight coughin' lol!
If I try to put too much smoke in my lungs, I'll cough. I guess if you're coughing you're getting high quicker...
maybe ur not coughing cus your taking pussy hits :DQuote:

That's what I was going to mention. I actually have an associates in psychology (haha). I did good, all A's, but the big thing that kept me from going all the way was the time factor. I just wasn't sure I wanted to devote so much of my life to studying before going out into the real world. Ironically, I still ended up being in school for 10 years total, getting a BA in East Asian Studies and a BS in International Business. And people wonder why I'm not too anxious to go back and get my MBA. LOL.Quote:

Much more than if you just exhale or even cough from something like having a cold. Second, the reason you're probably coughing is that you're taking really big hits, hence, more THC. Three small, non-cough hits will do the trick and be a lot more comfortable in the long run.
It's not. It's not a fact but it does seem that way with me :p.Quote:

But other than that, no, I don't cough. I get plenty high, too.
My smoking buddie even coughs on purpose when he doesn't need to. He says it gets him higher, but that's just him coughing and making youreslf light-headed so it's pretty stupid.
wow you have some sick ass beats on that myspace of yours. :thumbsup:Quote:

i hate/love cottonmouth i love it cus i know im high as fuck but i also hate it cus im so god damn thirsty. Why does weed dehidrate you? Isn't that why it also turn your eyes bloodhsot?
I took an entry level psych class with a friend of mine. We were in this big ~200 person class that was about 75% female. The professor was a really good lookin' (not gay, but he looked like Mathew MaConahey) dude. He was cool, talked about some dirty shit man. He would get to talkin about sex....stuff that probably shouldn't have been said....and when noone was talking, you could literally hear every hot and bothered girl in that room huffing and puffing.
Edit: Wow, I must be smoking some kind of rhyming pot.
Psych major here
My friends ask me what it is about psychology that I like and I guess I feel like its a one true science that has so much mystery to it. Theres so much we dont know about human behavior and the mind in general and that keeps me really interested. The differant directions you can take in psychology seems never ending and they all fit together and mesh really well. Im really introverted and could have conversations all day with people about why we think the way we do about everything we come across, that just spans off and off onto so many sublevels. Is that something your interested in?
I really think you have to really openminded and like to question things and examine them as to why they are the way they are. Behavorial, cognitive, developmental, abnormal, theres just so many differant paths you can go and whatever you choose in psychology in general will lead to a career where your in a position to help people which is a plus. For myself im not to concerned about where I want to end up in psychology, I just love the knowledge im gaining by being in the classes. I could take psych classes for many years to come
hahahahaha u didnt mean to rhym??? if not then thats pretty amazing u should call that weed the dr.suess weed.Quote:
