Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
It's not purple. It came from the cannabis clinic in Los angeles, its 220 a half ounce, it's 65 an 1/8th, it smells through the thick, blue, plastic container it came in with grandaddapy purle labeled on it. But its not purple.
However, I took one hit out of a glass bong and I am stoned. I took one more and I could barely move rather right this.
I was just thinking, if this shit knocks my ass out in one to two hits ( I smoke an 1/8th of chronic from the clubs a day) how much narlier would the stuff I have seen on the internet be? The grandaddy purple I had been anticipating was on the internet and the buds were all purple and the most intense lookings buds I have ever seen. The shit I have isn't really dense, its green and looks like absolutely great green buds. Tastes amazing.
This stuff smells absolutely insane too, I mean through a plastic bottle?
Anyways your thoughts...

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
he says it in the very top line of his post... lol
btw dude, purple bud means absolutely nothing to do with strength... matter of fact back when purple haze was known to exist, it was only mid-strength, was good stuff, but there was a lot better stuff to be had at the time...

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
cold isn't the only cause of purple bud... i'm not so sure on strains and if GDP is one or not, but there are strains that are genetic (since i'ts in the name, i'm going to go out on a limb and guess this is supposed to be one) but i'm not a grower, so don't take my word for it, atleast the last part... the other part i do know, and you can take my word for it.

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
It's because pot isn't regulated like other industries are. If you want to sell kobe beef, you better get it authenticated and inspected. Unfortunately, since weed is not federally regulated, there's no one forcing the growers to call a strain what it actually is.
All that happens when a club buys weed, is they take it under a microscope, check the trichromes, make sure there is no diseases or mold on the bud, maybe take a sample toke to see effects, and they offer the buyer a price. If the strain name is never given, or it's an old one that doesn't appeal to the market, the club will change it.
Think of it this way. Say a grower brings in a batch of Northern Lights, that is absolutely tear your face off phenomenol. Well, the club can sell it at $55/eighth under the name Northern Lights, and people will bitch because they're selling a "generic" strain at such a high price. So instead, they slap the name Bling on it, charge $60/eighth, and are lauded for making the premium strains cheap in the market. Now, could you honestly tell me you could tell the difference between Northern Lights and Bling, just looking at two buds? Taste a difference? I know I couldn't, and I pride myself on smoking tons of different strains throughout the week.
So what you're smoking might not be Granddaddy Purple at all, but maybe some Skunk/Haze cross. As long as it tastes lip smacking good, and gives you a gentle yet firm punch in the face, then it doesn't really matter. A rose by any other name...

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
Granddaddy purple dont have to be purple. I had some and it's not purple at all. It's dense and dank as hell. Like you said, it smells through a plastic container, it even smells a little through a air tight glass jar. I too got it from the cannibus clubs. It's some good shit. Too bad I'm dry and not gonna smoke for a while. Need to save some money.

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
All my plants turned purple due to the cold nights, though i did grow some seeds called Purps this year, the difference was that the Purps leaves were a light purple naturally before the cold set in and the other plants that turned from the cold were way dark purple with purple bases on the tricholms. the Purps tricholms heads were purple. So...no matter what i grew, northern lights, old gangster, 420, bubble gum, they all turned purple. But, the Purps were natural light purple leaves, even before budding.
Just my two cents,
inbud

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
I had an 8th of grandaddy purp a couple months ago, I remember that stuff SMELLED! I've gotten a lot of purps and they all have a similar purp smell, thats usually how I tell if its actually purp.
Grandaddy doesnt have much purp on it at all, it was green with red hairs and dark purple spots but its hard to tell if the spots are actually purple because its so dark. It looks dank as fukk but the smell is a give away. Purp is almost always the smelliest stuff around. And it gets you high as fuck, purps like demon weed or something, lol, everytime my friends smoke purp they tripp tha fuck out, thinkin its laced for sure.
-
Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
ill show you part of an 8th that i got a couple of nights back. some dank gdp, its all ground up but you get the picture. after a bowl i was STONED, so gdp lived up to its name.

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
The first time I got Grand Daddy Purple it had some purple in it, this wasn't from a co-op, then I got some from a co-op, and it didn't have purple in it. However, I know they were both the same strain because they smelled identical and gave me the same effects. Really good stuff, and a popular choice for people with stomach problems such as Crohn's, or IBS.
And just a side note, God damn I love the smell when you walk into a co-op hehe :D
-
Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
Im pretty sure thats GDP, its a little tough to tell when its busted up but i circled a purple spot on one of thoes pics. The purp is pretty dark on gdp though and can be tough to see.

Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
Purple shmurkle, who cares. Just smoke it. :stoned:
-
Grandaddy Purple has arrived!!! But,
^^^ thank you
nto to mention, if the genetics of the GDP clone used werent stable, the purple gene could have come up recessive, but it would still be GDP( correct me if im wrong)
