Howdy Garden Knowm,
Have you ever worked at a job, where zero-error is required ?
Do you even know what that means ?
When I was roughnecking on a drilling rig,we were expected to live up to the zero-error doctrine, because if we didn't,it could mean the loss of life or limb, not only to ourselves, but to our fellow roughnecks.
The same doctrine, holds true for our soldiers and their commanders..and the CnC,as well..especially when one terrorist, can detonate a suitcase nuke, and destroy an American city. The fact that America has not been attacked again, means that the zero-error doctrine is functioning. Like President Bush said " We have to git it right-100% of the time.." As a seaman in the Navy,I was expected to operate on a zero-error basis as well. Because if I didn't,my fellow sailors could have been seriously injured or killed.
JFK had it right, when he said "Ask not what your country can do for you-ask what can you do for your country.." However, with the advent of modern liberalism, that has been turned bass-ackwards,as millions of liberals, awake each day..and wonder what they can git out of their country, with the least amount of effort.
Have a good one ...

Torog-- based on your avatar you're a ZZ top reject Jesus freak.. im guessing with that job your IQ is under 100, and im guessing you've been married 4-7 times.
But i gotta ask-- do you even believe your own hype? Like, there is no debate over whether or not george w is the worst president we've ever had. Never before has someone gutted education and science so much, started an illegal war, given TWO tax breaks to the rich during the war, shredded the constitution in the name of preserving the constitution and "freedom", george W is responsible for the deaths of at LEAST 500k Iraqi civilians. We convicted and executed saddam hussein for killing 127 people. Do you really think throwing around 'liberal' as an insult has ANY meaning to people? Maybe you should take some money out of your change cup and invest in a dictionary instead of blindly buying into whatever Karl Rove talking points you find on Fox news?
Just a suggestion.

Howdy Kyrandian,
Well..well..seems yer another one of them there snobby, elitist liberals, that always see's the glass as half-empty..lol. Working in the oil field, requires alot of training and expertise, probably beyond yer iq..and certainly much too labor intensive, for a whiney avoid-hard-work at all costs, elitist liberal, such as yer self. I've only been married once,I have a wonderful,26 year old daughter and I've been disabled for over 15 years now, because I finally wore out my back, from working hard to support my family. I'm also a Navy veteran, with 2 years of college, mostly in electronics.
I don't spew hype,I state my beliefs and convictions..and stand behind them..you see..unlike you-I stand for something, instead of swimming around in a sea of gray moral relativism. Unlike you,I will hold the enemies of freedom, accountable for their actions and will defeat them. I will not make excuses for evil to thrive and I will not sleep soundly, till everyone is free and at least as blessed as I am.
I don't "blindly follow" any man or his talking points..but I do follow God and His Son,Jesus Christ..without question.
So go ahead..call me a hick if ya want..it's just what I expect from shallow, elitist liberal snobs, such as yer self. :D

I'd love if you could point out the part where i swam around in my moral grey area sea.
Isnt it better to have nuance than to believe in moral absolutes? I mean, if you're talking about morals, where's the morality in the war in Iraq? no ones arguing whether or not saddam was a bad guy, but do the costs really justify the means?
Funny how anytime a dumb hick gets called on it, he automatically lashes out with the liberal elite 'insult'. Guess who the world respects? The coastal united states. Guess who the world laughs at? southerners and midwesterners.
No comment on my laundry list of republican cowards and war cheerleaders, huh?
Shocked..

I'm always keenly aware of the consequences of my decisions and actions, and aware that what we leave behind, after God calls us Home, that we leave the consequences of our actions and choices, with the living.
As a Christian,I love you too..but that ain't gonna keep me from being dissappointed over some of yer decisions,if I didn't care..I wouldn't bother.

Howdy Kyrandian,
The part where ya swim around in,is when ya say that America is worse than the arab-muslim jihadists..by granting them moral equivalancey and not holding them accountable for any death or mayhem.
I'll take moral absolutes over nuance, every single time.
By liberating Iraqi's from saddam and sons, brutal reign, satisfies the morality of doing such, same goes for Afghani's,suffering under the brutal reign of the taliban. Freedom ain't free..and is in fact-priceless.
As for who the world laughs at,I think that it's yer side, from where I stand..at us folks in fly-over country, don't make excuses and apologies, for those who attacked America on 9/11/01. I was born American..but I'm Southern,by the Grace of God.
As for yer laundry list,I hope it keeps ya warm at night..because I dang sure ain't gonna waste my time on why folks chose to do what they did,if they're wrong-God will judge them..all I want-is for every brutal dictator to be vanquished..be it in Iraq,Afghanistan,North Korea,China or Russia or Africa or Indonesia.

I dont know why i expected more than recycled talking points and propaganda, but i hoped against hope.
Since you're in favor of ousting all dictators, I'm surprised you arent appalled at how bogged down we are in Iraq (a nation without WMD) while we more or less ignore Iran and North Korea, significantly more dangerous regimes WITH weapons of mass destruction. You know, it takes a big man to admit when his side is wrong, I absolutely loathe john kerry, and think he's an embarassment. However, the man served his country. Which of Georgie W's policies have you criticized?
You call me "elite", but isnt using your religion as a weapon and automatically taking the moral high ground because you believe in an invisible man in the sky just another kind of elitism?
If i'm 'elite' (l337), i'll take elitism based on facts, and careful consideration, not a book of fairy tales written thousands of years ago.
Isnt one of the tenets of christianity to "turn the other cheek"? Didnt jesus himself say that was the mark of a good person? Your war-happy attitude belies your self-proclaimed christianity. I guess you're more of a cafeteria christian, ignoring any tenets of the religion that affect your lifestyle, but still take all the pompousness that comes along with your religion.
Would jesus approve of the war in iraq? Or of george W bush's internationally-decried human rights abuses?
I seriously doubt it.

1. WORK.. it seems we may need to define that word...
My life is my practice.. practice.. practicing to be LOVING.... that has forunatley.. been an amazing experience that has allowed me to create a BODY that is freaking KAK DIESEL.. a freaky specimen of sorts.... and goose bumps and giggles of rewards.... weather I am picking up dog poop, climbing a tree to get down a frissbee, bathing an old man, being a nanny, digging holes, or recieveing an award from Salma Hayek for best film... it is always LOVE... always practice... I have heard the word WORK.. my whole life... yet I have never experienced WORK...
2. thank you
3. great... that is fantastic... How does ONE know (be aware) what effect THEIR actions will have?

Howdy Kyrandian,
I've heard all of yer talking points too..99.9 % of em,are about making excuses for evildoers and why we must surrender to them.
Maybe you can explain to me,why it's best for some folks to languish under brutal tyranny..yet not so,for others ?
My chief gripe with President Bush,is the border issue and illegal immigrants.
First,ya say the Bible,is just a collection of fairy tales, written thousands of years ago, then ya turn around and chastise me,for not being a pacifist..what kind of sense, does that make ?
It's not up to me,to say what God or Jesus, will do in any given situation..all I can do,is to follow what God and Jesus, expect of us,as written in the Bible. The Book of Revelations, tells us that when Jesus returns, that He will not be turning the other cheek,He will be slaying the evildoers who continue to harm the innocent..because doing such,is the only way that peace can finally come about.

Well, actually-- I did say that since we're in Iraq, we are incapable of dealing with iran and north korea-- 2 significantly more dangerous countries. There's a lot of bad people in the world torog, the united states cant be the police force of the world if they dont want it. Never once did i make excuses for our 'enemies', but your intentional vagueness and heavy reliance on biblical nonsense, including flat out lies about jesus christ, a peaceful man who you claim would slay evil doers, proves that you're a lunatic, and unworthy of further reply.
God is dead, and no one cares
If there is a hell, i'll see you there.
"when Jesus returns, that He will not be turning the other cheek,He will be slaying the evildoers who continue to harm the innocent..because doing such,is the only way that peace can finally come about."

Furthermore- there's a substantive difference between my FACTUAL presentation of problems caused by our illegal war in iraq, that we are creating more terrorists (the pentagon's words, not mine), That we are unable to deal with the rising crisis in north korea and Iran because the bulk of our forces are occupied in Iraq, a war that has made the united states no safer. If you havent heard of it, the Baker report made perfectly clear the situation in iraq is "Grave and deteriorating".
"Talking points" are statements based on absolutely nothing, usually echoed by rush limbaugh, bill o'reilly, or sean hannity and their type, things like "when ya say that America is worse than the arab-muslim jihadists..by granting them moral equivalancey and not holding them accountable for any death or mayhem."
I never said that. Ever. What you did is distort the truth, and make ignorant claims based on your poorly-conceived concept of my opinion on the war on terror. A lie is a lie is a lie.
Using opinions as facts, and blind faith are the refuge of a coward.

Howdy Kryandian,
If ya don't believe that freedom is for everyone, then yer making excuses for tyranny to exist and thrive.
We can fight Iran and NK,if need be,with a draft to supplement our forces, with conventional and un-conventional weapons.
How would you know, that I'm making flat-out lies about Jesus,if ya don't read the collection of fairy tales that you despise so much ?
You declare that God is dead..God ain't dead..it's yer heart..that has died..along with yer soul..but it ain't too late to change that. :)

Howdy Torog ...... how's you? .... did you see me? I waved! :D
Torog you sound like Juda ... he wanted Jesus to slay the evildoers, but he refused .... he kept spouting this liberal surrender monkey garbage about loving them instead ... so Juda turned against him ... even though he was butalize and had the power to fight back .... he didn't he have an unkind word against them .... what a freaking liberal eh? .... if Jesus were to return he would speak of love and how we are all one and that we are not separate from All That Is or God as you like to call her.
He Knows that killing is not the way because he would be killing a part of himself and All That Is.
Garden has it right .... it's about Love .... killing has never been the way .... and we will never find peace through war.
Consciousness (thoughts, feeling and emotions) creates form .... quatum physics proofs this ... if you believe in war .... war is what you will have .... I willing to bet in Garden's world there is a great deal of love seen ....
.... and correct me if I'm wrong Garden about the work thing .... it's about the joy of doing .... not work .... right? .....
Torog .... try visualizing peace and love towards your fellow man .... what do you have to lose?
If Jesus were to return the same thing would happen he would speak of loving your enemy as you would love yourself .... that would piss you off .... you'd say he was a "false" God and have him put to death ..... again. :noel:

hello mr rebel..
ya see... the leaders (mods) of the forum have a direct impact on HOW HIGH we can get..
this thread is an important subject that facilitates greater awareness.. not all subjects have that EXPLICIT ability... so WHY not leave it in the lounge where more people CHILL!! why not give everybody a chance... alot of people don't go to the politics forum...
Ya see, every post in the lounge can actually be moved and put into another FORUM...
if I were a conspiracy theororist I would sat that this site is set up by the man to keep us down.. THE MAN knows that every topic HAS a more appropriate place than the lounge.. this lets THEM control us and our posts...
of course this is a total JOKE and I don't think the site was set up with that intention..
IF I were president I would keep this in the lounge... People like TOROG who are incredibly articulate and smart do ot just speak on ANY topic.
This topic is worthy and I demand it be moved back to the lounge..

We do our best to put subject matter in the correct forums/sub-forums. There is currently over 40 forums and over 70 sub-forums. EVERY POST?? Really....
if I were a conspiracy theororist I would sat that this site is set up by the man to keep us down.. THE MAN knows that every topic HAS a more appropriate place than the lounge.. this lets THEM control us and our posts...
of course this is a total JOKE and I don't think the site was set up with that intention..
I really don't see how a web site can control you but your posts and threads....yes. This is their site. I think that when they set it up with over 110 forums and sub-forums their making a statement on thread organization based on interests. Since members request new forums/sub-forums.....I believe that they are looking for the same.
IF I were president I would keep this in the lounge... People like TOROG who are incredibly articulate and smart do ot just speak on ANY topic.
This topic is worthy and I demand it be moved back to the lounge..
LOL
iloveyou
trust the people and they will do as they are suppose to
the best leader is one who is not seen
This is a WORTHY POLITICAL topic. No question about that. If you don't feel that this is a political thread I'd love to hear why.
Demands........isn't that part of the problem today? People, countries, groups all making demands in which the results are seldom good? Where's the LOVE.:D
Have a good one!

If Jesus were to return the same thing would happen he would speak of loving your enemy as you would love yourself .... that would piss you off .... you'd say he was a "false" God and have him put to death ..... again. :noel:
.... also why is it so terrible to talk in the political forum oppose to the lounge? What's the difference other that a mouse click?
Happy Holidays! :rastabong: :areindeer:
Howdy GrowRebel,
I do understand where yer coming from..as a Christian,I should always choose to do what Jesus expects of us..He does want us to love our enemies as we would love ourselves..which is what I would rather do,I would rather trust in God and Jesus, than in bullets and bombs.
The part where I start gitting in trouble with,is that such a path allows those who choose to brutally tyrannize others..free reign to destroy all good on earth,as we know it. Rather than Good triumphing over Evil..we will be overcome with Evil..if we don't draw a line and stand against it.
When Jesus returns, and there are breaking news reports about it,I will abandon all talk of war and leave everything,in His Hand's.
However,I'm only human..and I can't bear to feed my family and my country and the Free World,to the wolves.
Is the solution,to abandon civilization and allow the wolves to have a feeding frenzy ?
Believe it or not-I do pray for God and Jesus,to end all the suffering and death..and bring peace to the world. :)
Have a Happy New year !
Have a good one !

Yes, but you seem to believe in war rather than peace ... so you continue to visualize the brutally and tyranny .... believing it will "destroy all good on earth" yet you have have no real proof that it will happen .... true there is unrest on parts of the earth, but that is base on a limiting belief that war is necessary.
You are right about standing against "evil", but it can be done without violence .... Jesus, Gandhi, King amoung other proved this .... why won't you believe it?

No .... the solution is to believe in peace and let go of the limiting belief that freedom and peace can only be found through war and killing. It's a contradiction in terms.

Firstly religion has no place in politics.
George Bush is what I call a mouthpiece since the decisions are actualy made not by him but as a joint collective decision of the whole goverment.
I have made my views clear on what I think of America trying to make everyone like them (if that isn't elitist thinking I don't know what is) and DICTATING who can do what.
George Bush isn't the problem it's his string pullers, the real puppet masters are the rich and powerful businessmen and the agenda for global financial domination.
Who gave the US the right to tell others how to live?
Americas answer to a problem always seems to be "We got nukes so you gotta do what we say or we'll bomb ya" ,, WTF !!
Killing is killing and the US goverment doesn't seem to care how many have to die for an ideaology that they believe is right but others see differently.
The US gov and it's supporters see nothing wrong in forcing others to think and do as they want them to, isn't that as wrong as you can be ?
Bullying weaker countries to follow your example is arrogant and ignorant.

Yo Mr. BUD...
ummm.. iloveyou :)
yes any of the posts in the lounge can find a "better home" .. it is really subjective.. the site really has a lot of fantastic forums and choices... and because of this, each post can find an alternate home....
This was more of a joke and a friendly jab at "conspiracy theories" nothing more... nothing directed at this site or the owners or the moderators or the participants... just pure mental jibber jabber -
see dick run.. see dick touch jane.. see jane smile :D
DEMAND... yes, the word "demand" is obsurd... i know the internet does not convey JOKING well and I apologoze for causing further confusion... when I said demand... it was 100% absurd and silly and goofy and it was suppose to come across that way...
i never really demands anything.. 99.9% of the time everything happens perfect in my life.. the other .1% it happens perfect but I am to dense to realize this...
lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove...
iloveyou mr. bud
Mr. Bud and Mr. Knowm shake hands and hug and live happily ever after...

Bong!! You're back!! I was beginnig to wonder what happened to ya.
Anyhow, Bong's got a point. Yes, it would be wonderful if the world was filled with happiness, peace, and love but that just isn't the case. There are bad guys out there that need dealing with from time to time. Although we shouldn't always be the ones doing the dealing, if ya know what I mean. In any case, even if the U.S. is never in another war I seriously doubt the world will ever know true peace, certainly not in our time, or our children's, or even grandchildren's time.
That being said, yeah, George Bush is an idiot who has no concept of diplomacy or a sound foriegn policy. A while back someone commented something like "if he is such an idiot, how come he's been able to keep his party in power for so long?". Uh huh...well, maybe the question should really be "if he wasn't such an idiot, why did his party get such an ass kicking last November?" :D I must admit, I do enjoy my nightly anti-Bush portion of Letterman.
As for Torog, he's a hard core, right wing, Bible thumpin Texan. Do you really expect him to disagree with Dubya? Trying to debate with him is a waste of time. Like trying to tell a psychotic there really isn't bugs crawling all over him. No matter what you say, what constitutes reality in his mind is sufficiently skewed so that logic and true reality can never take hold.
