The Grapes of Wrath
I find it hard to believe a collector like me missed Urkle so many years. I really love smoking her and the flavor is one of my new favorites along side Space Queen,
I have some pretty amazing news to report and I hope Sticky is around so he can help me get to the bottom of a small mystery. I didnā??t time her the first run through cause I really donā??t care and it helps me not cheat if you donā??t know how long a plant has been budding you have to make sure its done.
Now this run I did write it down and we are now at day 47 here. We are a lot further along than I would expect for this potent strain. It leans toward Indica in buzz and since itā??s smoked as much for taste as anything when you start getting stoned on 3-4 hits its kind of a surprise. So Sticky is this thing really going to be ready in 4-5 days here at 52 or so cause she pushing close to the scissors today at 47 so itā??s a small mystery I assumed wed be closer to a full 8 weeks?

The Grapes of Wrath
I didn't just pollinate this girl at a whim I have a bad taste in my mouth still from other "Purple" adventures in breeding and I wont ever make the mistake of naming a strain a color again.
Yes much DPD is purple but some is not and thats bs.
Purple traits pass on to some females and in others the potency gene seems to be more dominant. I am not sure what Space Queen will add to Qurkle but I am anxious to find out!
Now the seeded Urkle has actually been in bud less time than the other I just posted but youd have a hard time knowing. I may have pollinated her a bit late but I will just leave her in flower until the seeds are completely done. Now that I know how fast she finishes I will make sure I pollinate her closer to 21 days and not 26 like this plant was. WTR tells me he has let her go 70 days so we should have no problems with seeds maturing presently there still green

The Grapes of Wrath
We have been looking for a nice Purple cross for awhile now that I actually like to smoke. As pretty as Black Russian was I simply didnt prefer it's flavor, many like that peppery spice flavor but I am not amoung them.
I am into fruity smoke like Lemons, Cherries, Oranges I love to combine the bubble and make fruit loop hash.
A few more Unseeded Urkles.
This plant has never been cooled under 70 maybe even 75 so the colors you see are 100% natural I have yet to stick her in a cold bud room to see what she is capable of I want purple in the heat and she deff puts out the amazing hues.
Day 44 Seeded
Keep and Eye out for the start of Qurkle I will be cracking seeds as soon as there mature.
Grapes and Cherries Oh My!

GRAPES!!!!
nice
lookin amazingly good

The Grapes of Wrath
Wow! The fact that those plants have never seen temperatures below ~70 makes those purple hues very impressive! Now that we've seen what those plants are capable of doing without "cheating", throw em in a cold basement to really crank up the purple-ness!
But please don't make any of it into hash, the bud is simply too good!

The Grapes of Wrath

The Grapes of Wrath
I'm anxiously awaiting the release of this cross Sub, when are the beans going to be made available to the public? Are you sold on the name Qurkle, or is that just what you're using for now? If you aren't, I was thinking "Laura" would be a great name for it, after the girl adored by Steve Urkle on the show Family Matters. Since it's Urkle x Space Queen = Urkle's Queen = Laura? Hmm, maybe not...Anyways, your pics are always an inspiration!

The Grapes of Wrath
My secret is simple 35 years growing :)
I also use my own soil and never push my plants. Yields are not important to me but taste and potency.
Our gear is availible world wide through several distributors and soon in the Rokerij Coffee shop.
Online you can order from www.cannaseur.com hes my best friend and has sick secret shipping usually within 10 days.
I had it for a link but no mod ever told me it was ok so I removed it due to the anti spam policy here.
I would still love a how to forum here but I never get a responce from mods?

It will be fantastic to see your new purple adventures available on cannaseur. I like their shipping, it's fast, and they take plastic securely... a big plus. Cheerful customer service too!
I agree that taste is the most important factor to consider when breeding... taste, potency, and then finishing time actually rather than yield since a fast plant will give you over time as much yield as a slower but heavier plant, with that quick turnover that an obsessed strain collector like myself values so I can really vary my headstash.
Beautiful plants, beautiful pics as always...that last pic in the first post still shows more white hairs than I typically like to see that close to estimated harvest, and the first pic of the trichs... still a bit sparkly. But my goodness they are beautiful.
As an aside to the purple strain thing... I've got 3 Purple Star (easy 'beginner' strain, relatively low THC, kind of leggy for my taste) going right now in flower... they are supposed to show purple in 50% of plants, leading me to believe that it was a trick of the breeder to make it harder to knock off, since obviously it's got to be a recessive trait so they DO have a double-recessive parent locked down... and crossed it with a heterozygous parent...ugh, pain in my ass! Luckily by chance I've got 3 VERY purple ladies, one of whom was also a mutant with the whorled phytolaxy mutation- 3 leaves or branches at each node- and she's the stumpiest girl of the three. My temps dive into the low 60s and even high 50s on occasion at this time of year so the color is showing very strong and pure.
It's really tempting to breed FOR the purple color since there are always a bunch of people around who get so excited over it rather than the overall quality of the rest of the plant's genes.
Anyway... that was a tangent... oops.
