Just have a few questions on size i think mins growin slow for some reason, heres a couple pics. i got 3 flor gro lux 18hrs a day, 10 inch fan 3 times a day just transplanted into bigger pot last week. looks healthy but i think it might be small for 5 weeks i have nothing to gauge it on. its on its 6 set of leaves and its 6 node. the nodes are like 1/2 inch apart. so any advice would be great like i said im a rookie so gimme a lil break. thanks again

pabuds it looks to me to be going ok its 5 weeks in picts i would run fan as much as u can. make stems stronger but looks ok. it looks like the light or lights might be a touch to high i start with florarcent lights right on top of them not hot enough to burn but they will be short bushy plants at first then when i put it out side it kinda evens out but still a bit bushy. if in door till end and u have the room then you shoud be ok you just dont wont to burn your plants from the heat of the light. i put my hand above the plants an hold it there for like 5 mins to see how hot my hand gets which tells me if its to close or not...hope this helps are you using any plant food yet???? your soil looks like standard potting soil straight outta the bag???? good for 1-2 weeks but thats it.. i will keep eye out for ya 2 see if i can help..

At four weeks veg it should've been near 1ft (16-17" by now), lower your lights, and perhaps add an HPS to the mix, I only use two 150w HPS (with MV for supplement) now, works wonders.
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
8"-12" is way too far away for flouro's, get them around 2" above the tops of your plants and get that fan on more, maybe for 15 mins every hour, sit back and watch them really start to grow. ;)
Good luck :rasta:

Any Northern Light growers out there?
the problem is too little amount of light and/or light intensity, and if using fluoros, then you can put light about 2 inches above plant canopy.
You see, you can grow with fluoros; Just don't expect fast growing or high yielding plants. peace
p.s. Your plants look fine, they just need more light. peace
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
Thanks everybody i lowered my lights and im gonna get some perilite to mix with the soil this weekend so ill keep ya posted. Anymore info would still be greatly appreciated. Thanks again
P.S My plants will be grown with fluoros its vegitative life then HPS for the flowering that shouldnt effect yeild to much right just slower growth until budding?

Any Northern Light growers out there?
I got rooted 6 Northern(and 3 Afghani) clones 3 weeks ago and was very unprepared and they were in rough shape, if I didn't take them they were going in the trash. They spent two days in the little rockwool cubes in a 90 degree closet till I could get out and restock everything. Tho top it off we got nailed with spidermites. The miites are non-existent now and they are taking off. They are 10-11" tall bushy and have fan leaves almost the size of my hand spread right out( but I'm a chick with small hands). Anyways The leaves are already zig zagging and I can just about start taking clones. I also have them under a 400watt MH bilb and don't know their history before me though. This is my first real grow. I've tried in the past but something big always can up and I made my choices usually after about a month of hard work. I'm looking forward to bringing in my first harvest.

Any Northern Light growers out there?
Hey guys,
Well i got some good news and bad. the good news is its been 4 days since i droped the lights and switched to cfl's and the she is lovin it growin much faster. my new problem is that she is purpling on the stems of the fan leaves and on the ends of the leaves as well. all the research ive done points to a phosphorus deficiency so i leeched the soil and was wondering if there was anything else i could do to help her out. Please Help!! Thanks
P.S. More pics will be up tomorrow so you can see what im talkin about

Any Northern Light growers out there?
what are your temps like?
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
Temps rangin from 70-80 with lights on an 67 at night so it shouldnt be too cold or anything i think the soil was locked out so im keepin my fingers crossed
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
hmmm, not temps then... i don't know. don't think it's strain related, i've grown nl, but it stayed a lime green all the way through.
sorry i can't be of more use...
love, kp:p
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
How are your NLs doing? I'd love to see some pics
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
yeah pics would be great. i am growing a NL plant right now, but I am sorry to say I don't really have anything positive to say about it. It was stressed out like crazy as a young-un, and it is extremely stunted. However I topped it recently, and it really liked that- it grew a lot, so maybe that says something about the strain, IDK. I'm just planning on taking a shitload of clones off of it, and then trashing it. It would probably just be a waste to flower at the moment. It stayed limegreen for the first couple months, but then i read on the boards somewhere that NL are really difficult to overfert. I took that to mean that the plant needed more ferts than I was giving it, so I basically raped it with fertilizer and it darkened up quite a bit. So if you see your plant lightening, don't be afraid to use a heavy hand with the nutes and see if that helps.

just a quick question, how long do you think your stem is altogether including the stem thats under the soil? how long should an average 4 week indoor stem be?

Here's a link to some pics, my pics are too big to thumbnail and I don't know how to shrink them. so I'll work through them with you, but backwards because I fucked up. They are about 24 days old, so almost 4 weeks.
001(last one) Is my dryer set up with the odor nutralizer attahed to the exhaust fan at the bottom.
002 is a better pic of the tree stand and exhaust fan underneath.
003 is an inside shot of my grow op, right in the middle is the fan and stand, when the plants were smaller I had a screen overtop to sit the plants on but now they are to heavy, so we are moving up to the stage two of the dryer
004 the dark purple is Jaz, and the bright purple is Mrs. Bin Laden(both Afghani)
005 Bella is the read one in the middle, and one of my unnamed ones is the orange(see the color difference? Orange is suffering from a little P deficiency) Orange got Fimmed (both Northern)
006 The middle one is foxy and the other two are unnamed(also P deficency for those two), all 3 got FIMmed. (also Northern)
007 is Petti next to her big sis Jaz. I FIMmed both Pettis tops today.(Afghnis)
008 is a shot of one of Jazs leaves after flushing and feeding today we had a few blotches on a leaf the are dark green and crispy, also the very tips(less the mm) and most leaves either yellowed or went strait to brown, but it hasn't progressed at all. I dilluted my nutes today but at the same time increased my P to make up for the deficency so that could be it.
009 is one of my last leaves to heal and regenerate after the spider mites almost all other leaves hav healed and many were not quite so bad as that but still pretty patchy, but it's been almost two weeks since.(This is on orange unnamed Northern)
Let me know what you think guys I'll try to get the pics up here tommorrow and fill you in again. but I'll be kicking around here for a little bit.

hey pa, looking good! crissy, i put up some pix in topping, as well as some clone info...

Any Northern Light growers out there?
Nocturnal,
umm its hard to give you an exact number but my rough guess is about 12 inches or soo. it may even be bigger. righ know i have about 7 - 1/2 inches above soil. umm when mine was about 4 weeks i had it in a 6x6x6 pot and it need to be transplanted cause roots were formin through the drain holes.
Chronic C,
Your girls are really lookin nice but i just have one question how far away and what type of lighting are you using? they look healthy but a lil streched out might wanna drop the lights a bit it may slow down the overall height growth but it should build more foliage but thats my opinion and how much do i really know?
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
To tell you the truth I have no clue how faraway my light is, lol. I raised it for the pics but normally I have my light height according to my temp. My last grow op in the othe dryer I made 8 females convert to males because I couln't get the temp out of the high 80's, and there were a few other stresses and since I didn't know much about sexing I didn't know what I had done till the sacks started to pollinate, lol. After that I swooreagainst growing but that sure got me far. Butyou are right the are a little more stretched then I would like them to be, but the temp is sitting at 79-80 so I guess I'm playing it a little safe. Do you think 84-85 would still keep them pretty happy if I move it gradually?
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
temp is at 80.9, humidity is at 30% and the 400w MH is 12' from the highest and 18" from the shortest(Petti). The next shortest 3 are at 15". Think I should lower it?
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
Chrissy,
Do you have any type of ventilation goin on? if not this would really help you control your temps and a fan would thicken up your stems. my girl sits anywhere from 77-88 and she doesnt seem to mind it. but i never let my humidity drop below 38% so the plant wont dry out if it is a lil hot. and if she is at 88 its not for long. Normal temp is about 82. droppin your lights may burn your plant sice its a 400w but if your not opposed to it you could add a few cfl's keep them within 2-4 inches from tops to get them bushyer but then again im kinda new at all this too so some may disagree but hope i helped ya a lil peace

I haven't first hand but my husband has actually been to many smoke cafes in BC. Sorry buddy but there are, I'm not sure how they pull it off legally but DH lived in BC for seven years and can teach anyone BC drugs 101 lol. I live in Manitoba where we have to largest gov run growop for medicinal MJ, fuck if I could only figure out how to get a job there, lol.

I talked to my husband about smoking cafes and how they stay running. In BC it is illegal to smoke marijuana, but it's not illegal to use a vaporizer because you are not smoking it. Apparently there are cops around all the time though, and unlike amsterdam they can't sell weed there.

Any Northern Light growers out there?
Ahhhh i see well that sounds pretty gay LEGALIZE IT already damn it. but thanks for the input. even though i ws wrong oh well maybe ill head up there and blaze a lil haha. and i did see your pics i like the drum set up. its so crazy how inventive we stoners can be when we but our minds to it. only if we could get paid for shit like this. but anyway i just completed my flower room and i must say for my first its not to shabby. illl have pics up in like a week my sis has my camera and is on vaca so. looking to bud in 2 weeks or so. IM SO EXCITED!!! sorry my first time i cant wait.
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
I know eactly what you mean. I just picked up my new 400w hps setup and my first ever flower room should be done by this week. I can hardly wait! Plus now I have everything I need for cloning! I'm so excited! I've never made it this far.:D

There are lots of smoke cafes in Vancouver, not to mention the rest of BC. For example, I bet Nelson has a lot too- they're a crazy pot town. As for Vancouver, there is one cafe called The Amsterdam Cafe, there is a vaporizor lounge next door, and I can think of at least 2 other places where you can also go to smoke vaporizers. I am sure there are more, but those are just the ones I know about from my experience alone. BC rocks.
ps: I don't know if "smoking marijuana is illegal" in BC, cause if it is the cops don't care AT ALL. You can walk down the streets in Vancouver smoking a joint and no one will do anything. The smoking cafes all happen to be very well-known, and don't try to hide what they are doing from the cops at all.

so basically there more like "safe spots" to blaze. by that i mean you can bring your weed and vaporize it but you cant exchange or buy weed at any of these shops? if thats the case why have the shops? why not just stay at home? shit im to lazy to walk outside to smoke let alone go to a shop to smoke. maybe if they had something to sell it would intrege me a lil more, but thats still a lot farther along then the US has gotten. why cant these political fuckers realize how much money they would bring in and how much violence and drug trafficing they would stop? its not rocket science people are gonna do what the fuck they want so why not make some money off i? jackasses. but i could go all day with that subject so ill stop there. thanks for the info you guys like i said ill have more pic asap. shes lookin real good, cant wait to show ya
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
IMHO Canada won't legalize weed unless the US does first, we are getting pretty close but taking the last step would upset our sister nation and as much as I hate to admit it the US is a very influencial country with whom we do share two borders. We are a unique nation with our own ways, but politically we tend to play it safe. But that's just MHO.

Any Northern Light growers out there?
well its been a while since ive chatted but again its cause i dont have pics for ya cause my sis still has my camera. but anyway, just have a quick question. im pretty sure my plant is in preflowering. she really starting to fill out and look bushy. The first three nodes from the bottom up formed a calyx. my question is when should i put her into 12/12? should i wait till i see calyx all the way to the top of the plant? will waiting longer for more calyx to form result in better bud production? im planning on leaving her in 18/6 for another 1-1/2 to 2 weeks before i go to 12/12 should this be enough time to let her fully mature?? i know you can keep them in the veg state pretty much as long as you want i just wanna know when the "average" plant is put to 12/12. Thanks for any help!:stoned:
P.S. i should have some pics up tomorrow night thats when sis gets back

Any Northern Light growers out there?
How much space do you have to work with once you light is as high as you can put it? From what I gather a plant can double to triple size during flowering. So if you have 3 ft to work with flower at a foot and a half. I'm glad to hear your plants are filling out. I'll have pics of mine up later today, you should check them out.

Any Northern Light growers out there?
hey, my flowering room is about 4x4x8 feet so i got some room for growth. i just wasnt sure if my plant would continue to fill out once its in 12/12 or if it would slow growth to concetrate on producing flowers and it still has some fillin out to do i think. again i know you'd like some pics be patient they will be here tomorrow. Thanks again everyone

Just a quick question about cloning. my baby is almost big enough to clone and i was wondering if a 1/2 perilite and 1/2 peat moss medium would be good for her clones or if i should use straight perilite? or any other suggestions on what to use? anything would help thanks again.
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
I tried using soil but my clones died within a day. I picked up some rockwool cubes and a traydome and these ones are doing great.
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
ok i ordered some rockwool it should be here by friday!! now since they are for hydroponic set ups can i still put them into any type of medium? i obviously am not runnin a hydro system and didnt know if they would work in peat moss/perilite?
-
Any Northern Light growers out there?
Once you see root poking out the side or bottom you can pop them in your medium and start feeding them. The rockwool supports the roots, holds water and allows for air. Eventually the root ball just grow around it.

Well i promised pics and here they are. i think she looks pretty good and is ready for buddin. as soon as i clone shes goin to 12/12. She is a lil more than 9 weeks from seed in these pics. again i had light issues in the begining so took longer than normal. producing nice calyx i think she is about a week or so into preflowering. and has developed what i have researched being called undifferentiated primordia i tryed to take a pic of it hope it came out ok.
