You are going to have some serious height restraints growing in the treasure chest. You might want to consider upgrading to a taller unit. With reguards to keeping it nice and watered while you are gone, just give it a solid watering before leaving, that's about all you can do.

Also, that look like tin foil on the inside of your chest, you should not use that for reflection. Try mylar

dude, you should turn the chest on it's side. so it's tall and skinny.
you could grow one big kick ass plant in it. put floro tubes down all 4 corners and have some lights above. sounds fun to me.
or keep it how it is. have your plant at one end, then train it in a zig zag down the entire boxt and let only the side shoots grow upwards.
or... do whatever the hell you want
just have fun

hmm. you also dont have any vent's that's going to be a problem. trust me, the heat from the lamps is the biggest problem for most growers, cuz no one thinks of it on their first grow

I would have been sketch about keeping cfls on in a closed space while gone.. Good to see your micro system works man, hope to see some more pics !

Its leaning toward the light...I would push it 1-2" from the closest light providing its not too hot but it looks like you have fluorescents. I don't know what kind of soil that is but you shouldn't be adding nutes until it gets into vegetative growth or if it tells you that it needs some. You need to cut 2 small holes in there to push in new air and out with the old. I kinda had a feeling there would be a picture with a fan inside the box with no holes soon...so before you do that yea. For soil go buy some good stuff from foxfarm or get blackgold. Make sure you are using 5K or so color CFLs...I can't tell from the pics and you want your temps around 78 or so.

ok thanks cyclonite for the advice i really needed it but for the two holes do mean that each hole needs a fan to push the air in and out or i just need one fan on the inside and two holes for fresh air--- kind bud ill defently get some more pics---shovelhandel thanks for the support ill keep u updated+++ i did put a fan in already and there is one hole in the chest so keep the posts coming thanks!!

It's just my opinnion but I wouldn't give it nutes quite yet. I find that waiting until 5-7 sets of leaves works best. (Or 3 1/2 weeks) Also, give her a little time to adjust to the transplant....she's been stressed, regardless of how smooth the transplant went. Nothing like blood, sweat and tears to help you appreciate a grow! Happy Growing and Peace!

I am very interested in what you can do with that small box, do some research on "The Sea of Green", fuck taking it outside, I am sure you could keep it inside, and get fine and dandy yeild. May I suggest two 120MM fans one as an inlit and one as an outlit for your box.
Quote:
Sea of green
The plantlet sea of green method was developed to maximize the speed of cannabis growing in limited height situations. In a typical sea of green setup of this type, clones are planted at densities as high as 9 per sq. ft. Within a short time after being established, the lights are switched to a 12 hour dark period. What happens to the planted clone?
The clone could just sit there, stretch a bit under the light regime, and flower, producing a tiny little bud with a couple of seeds. But that rarely, if ever, happens. Instead the clone takes off in a rush of growth, forming a woody main stem and branches. If the plant is suitable for sea of green growing, it will stop short of the lights and flower. Most indica dominated plants stop short enough to be grown using this method. That process is at the heart of the sea of green method, as it results in the smallest possible plant flowering in the quickest possible time.
Why does the clone act in this manner? The actual process is subject to debate. Your author suspects that the clone reads the light switch as fall, and has a mechanism that recognizes that it's too small to produce seed. So the clone goes into a furious growth mode that stops when the plant reaches a minimum height set within its genetic software, and then flowers. Others argue that the clone's response is just a variation on the normal stretching process that happens when flowering is forced in any size plant. For purposes of the discussion here, it doesn't really matter why the response occurs, just that you can rely on it.
The problem with the sea of green method under small HPS lamps is that it produces a number of small spikes under the lamp, a forest rather than a field. The plants crowd each other out and shade the lower portions, which in any event are too far from the light source. As we discussed above, tall and skinny is not productive under a small light. I grew initially using this method, based on books and magazines that I read before designing my 250 watt system, and it worked well for many years, yielding just over 1 oz. per ft. Not bad, but it can be so much better.
Note that in the mid-90's, the term "sea of green" started being applied to much larger plants and grows, even multiple 1000 watt installations over room-sized grow tables, with 3 foot plants spaced at one per foot. It seems the original meaning of the term, the SSSC plantlet method, has been almost forgotten.

Also fuck the tinfoil, get yourself some flat white enamel paint, and paint the inside.

ok thanks so much for the tips --420paul i have a pic of a fan i think that you are talking about and if it is ill get the fans in right away and try to find some enamel paint. also theres a pic of her from today-- and also hiprogrow ill lay off the nutes for now and post a pic up when i think i shud nute it and hopefully you (or ne one) could tell me if its the right time thanks everyone!! and one more thing with the leaning issue i keep turning the pot so every day a different side is facing the brightest light i dont know if that is bad for the plant but if it is then plz tell me thanks

Yes, those are the fans, I suggested, reason I suggest them is for the reason in your picture (the computer), Just make sure you put two of them in, one needs to act as an INLIT and the other as an outlet, since heat rises, I would put the outlit, at the top of the box, and the inlit at the bottom of the box.

Your going to need another small space, maybe try the speaker box? To keep some clones alive in... Look around...

Don't worry we will get you to that stage.... For right now, just keep doing what your doing, and try to get yourself another small space.

PLZZ READ noob grower with awesome pics inside a treasure chest!
Not to be rude at all, but I would not suggest growing in your parents house without their permission. It puts them in an unfair situation, compromises their security, not to mention makes it difficult for you to facilitate your grow the way it needs to be in order to get the results you are looking for.
Just my .02 tho
-
PLZZ READ noob grower with awesome pics inside a treasure chest!
nah... its easy lol
keep the lights really close man, especially in such a small space, the further the lights the longer the stem, and i dont mean that in a good way, you will have the same amount of leaves if not less... its called stretching,
p.s. sorry if im wrong, its just that in the pics the light is way too far away, take one of the plant under the light, keep it about 2-3 inches away..

aright everyone thanks for everything so tomarrow my parents are leaving im going to paint the inside, put the two fans in, and move the lighting around. but with the paint i was wondering if its bad to use a latex base paint? and razzapiggy dont worry i appreciate your concern but my dads got a broken leg and cant walk up stairs and i highly doubt my mom would do any thing if she finds it so thanks. below are some pics of some paint i found around my house- they all say bone white if someone could tell me if the paint is bad to use that would be great- also heres a pic of today.

when do you think i shud nute her?
-
PLZZ READ noob grower with awesome pics inside a treasure chest!
After about 3 weeks, or when she starts to take off.
You're going to need to double the lights soon.
-
PLZZ READ noob grower with awesome pics inside a treasure chest!
Lookin good, nice job on the fan, whats your temp inside the box? Also, like already suggested, your going to need to double the light... I would double the light, wait a week and then start apply some nutes. Once the momma' gets big enough your going to want to cut some clones. I will post more on that in a few. Reason is, you don't have the room to waste to grow a male plant, so your going to want to clone the plant, a few times (I'd take at least two now), once you get both clones good and stable, (this is why your going to need one more box) and flower one, so you immediately know if you are growing male or female. If male, sucks your going to want to start all over... If female then, you have your two clones growing, and then we can get into LST.
