I'm pretty upset.

Last night, I started a thread in the medicinal and health section titled "Please help me prepare for salvia". Since the "experience" section is full of Salvia experiences, that have NOT been deleted, I figured I'd be able to ask some questions regarding possible salvia-use even though I suffered from depression, anxiety, and other disorders in the past, as well as the fact that I'm on anti-depressants. I mentioned other drugs I have used in the past, in order for the people to answer me better, since they have background information on me, and would be able to compare it to other drugs.

I felt comfortable posting it at cannabis.com, because cannabis is my drug of choice, and the members here are like a family to me, so I felt comfortable getting advice from like-minded people as well as people who have had similar experiences. I'm not a member at any "salvia" forums, but I've been a member here for almost a year, so I really felt that this place would be the best place to come for answers. I spent alot of time last night, checking my thread to see new replies which helped some, but I wasn't done asking questions.

I got home from school today, looking forward to seeing what others have said, and to see if I got any new replies, but guess what? My post was deleted. Lots of helpful information that was given to me, is now gone. Information for other curious people is now gone.

Now, I know this is cannabis.com, but in the experience section, there are tons of salvia-related threads, so surely that couldn't be the reason why MY post was deleted. Also, if the reason is going to be something generic like "There are already too many salvia threads", well they are all different. There are millions of threads asking the same question such as "difference between indica and sativa", yet when a new one appears, it doesn't get deleted.

Now, in my post, I talked about other drugs I have done. I did not promote these drugs, in fact I talked about the dangers, and specifically said I do not recommend them. I was under the impression that the cannabis community was a community that was tired of being oppressed. Well, isn't that what's happening here? Many members have signatures that say "These are the drugs I've done:" yet, they don't get banned, but when I make a thread asking for genuine help, it seems like common sense to tell all information. When you go the doctor, you tell them everything, so they can help you better. That's what I was trying to do here.

This isn't the first time this has happened either. Over the summer, I made a report of an amazing cannabis experience I had, which others could have benefited from reading. Part of my experience included experimenting for the first time with another drug, that started with a "c". I wasn't promoting this drug, I was simply giving the FULL experience. I was upset, but I let it go. This time, it's more difficult for me to let it go, because I really don't see the reason behind my thread being deleted.

I've never started any trouble on the forum, gotten in an argument with another member, or posted nonsense for the sake of posting. I look forward to coming to this website, contributing, and learning information from others, but I'm upset at the way things have been going lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I hate cannabis.com, and I'd appreciate if you don't say something like "If you don't like it here, then leave", because I DO like it here.

Basically, I'd like a real reason why my thread was deleted. Once I get the reason, (which I'm almost positive will be because it wasn't about cannabis), I'd like to know why other threads are left to exist, while now two of my threads have been deleted?

I would like to suggest that you guys bring back the "Other Psychotrops" section, so people who live in the real world and are subject to curiosity of other drugs, or need personal advice about how to go about using it in the safest way, can have a place to go, while still being around familiar, like minded, individuals.

Horror B, it looks like your thread was deleted by another moderator. And it appears that it was deleted because it inadvertently caused replies about other non-cannabis substances (here I mean other hard drugs rather that herbals like salvia) rather than because your thread itself broke the cannabis-only rule. (I'll check with the other mod to make sure this is why). You're right that normally, because salvia is still legal in most places, most salvia threads are left alone. I think in this case it was because it generated some blatantly non-cannabis responses from others.

Pointing attention to other threads will only jeopardies another...I feel your pain,,,cause I know how it is to have people burst your bubble...

Why did you not ask in the forum that seems to accept salvia??? Salvia is not needed for a medical purpose IMO...

The responses from others regarding other substances were people saying "Well, you've tried (hard drugs) so I think you'd be alright with salvia", and another asking what one of the drugs I mentioned was, so I explained what it was, but also said that it is very dangerous and that I don't recommend it.

I think that my thread was incorrectly deleted because yes, there was mention of other drugs, but it fit into the main point of the thread, which was if I'd be alright with a hallucinogenic drug such as salvia. The reason I didn't ask my questions in an already existing salvia thread, you'd understand if you actually saw my post. It was quite long because I had to explain my medical history and experiences with other drugs. The people mentioning other hallucinogenic drugs were just giving me their opinions, and helping by contributing to my thread, while keeping my health at best interest.

Skink, I know salvia is not needed for medical purposes, but I am on anti-depressants, as well as a daily cannabis smoker, so I felt that the combination of meds and drugs would best fit under the medicinal and health section.

Is there any chance of the "Other Pyschotrops" section returning? Maybe a poll perhaps, because I'm quite sure it would solve alot of problems of people wondering where to post their threads, and/or legitimate threads getting deleted for the mere mention of a drug other than cannabis, or salvia. I'm quite sure the talk of a certain fungus isn't even aloud anymore.

Pretty much says it all right there. This is a WEED site...the owner has made it REAL clear to all of us that this is the line of discussion that we should lean towards. Stating that I've smoked some weed and then rambling on paragraph after paragraph about other psychotropics isn't really what the directive is as of now.

I think Phycho tropics is a dead horse issue at this point,,,many have bitched pissed and moaned about it... You should do a search on it...

Let deletions roll off your back and you will do fine... I did Salvia a couple times and trust me,,,IMO you don't want to do it...

I think the sleeves are mylar but the 'bodice' is that heat shield stuff from the lunar landers... lol where do ya find this stuff!

So, I'm assuming that my thread was deleted because of certain posts, and not the actual thread? My thread was "about" salvia, which has obviously been tolerated. I needed advice on how to go about doing it safely, and/or if I should even do it at all considering my medical history and negative/positive experiences with other drugs.

Anyway, it's over now, my thread has been deleted and I've gotten my answer as to why. Now, I'd like to change the direction of this thread so it will fit better in the "Feedback and Suggestions" section.
Here's my feedback, and my suggestion. Please don't take any personal offense to what I say, because like I said, this site is like a home to me and the members like a family, but all families have disagreements.

I think it is ridiculous that the talk of other psychotropics is not aloud. It used to be. I remember the anger and confusion when that section was deleted. Alot of people could not see why. I know why. Someone is biased. They accept cannabis as a medicine and a recreational DRUG, but personally are against other drugs. Yes hard drugs can be dangerous, foolish, etc... but nevertheless if taken responsibly (something that CAN be done with "hard drugs) can offer a greater perspective on life after having experiences that others have not.

I believe that if the "Other Psychotropics" section was brought back, it would minimize if not eliminate all of the non-cannabis related threads on every section of the site, other than it's intended section. It would organize the site better. I also noticed that threads are aloud directly talking about alcohol and cannabis. I assume this is aloud because alcohol is legal. Well, guess what? Cannabis still isn't legal in most places. In addition to that, alcohols effects and dangers can be way greater than other psychotropics.

Bringing the "Other Psychotropics" section back would also (and I can't stress this enough) give a place for people to have their questions answered by experienced, like minded, individuals, who are members of this great cannabis community. If you had a question regarding anything in day to day life, and you had a friend that knew, I'm sure you'd ask he or she first, before asking a stranger (IE: another forum).

In conclusion, I'm thankful that you have been honest with me, and I'm glad you answered my questions. I really hope you will take into consideration my request for "Other Psychotropics" to return, as I believe the organization of the site would benefit from it, members would benefit from a comfortable place to seek advice, and the sections other than "Other Psychotropics" would remain cannabis-only.

Other psychotropics is dead, buried, we played Taps and gave it last rights. As for "minimize if not eliminate all of the non-cannabis related threads on every section of the site", we have been given a method for that called the infraction system. If ya keep posting about, lets say heroin, and we have to keep on deleting and giving warnings to an individual it turns to bans that eventually puts the individual out the door for good. This has seemed to minimize the amount of these threads/posts on the board.

This is a WEED site........lets keep it on a subject matter that the site is about. When I found this site I was looking for grow info.....not how to chop a line. No amount of polls, bitching, etc.....will bring back the psychotropics forum........R.I.P.

Yes, but members can benefit from more than one section of this site. For instance, when I first came here, I posted in the experience section alot, but as time went on, I spent most of my time in the growing section. You can learn quite a lot from all of the sections.

As far as the argument that this is a just a weed site, then why do we have a multimedia section for original music, art, etc? Why are threads aloud in the current events section that have nothing to do with Cannabis? We're aloud to talk about Britney and "K-Fed" (things that have no relevance to the majority of us personally) but not other "psychotropics"?

If "Other Psychotropics" is never, ever going to come back, then perhaps allowing the talk of other psychotropics in The Hobby Lounge? Experimenting with other substances is a legitimate hobby. Many people enjoy exploring and expanding their minds.

Psycho4Bud, you gave a good example regarding the infraction system, but I'm mainly talking about how when I open up the experience section I am greeted with thread after thread of salvia experiences, alcohol/marijuana experiences, and threads that just aren't even experiences. If there were a section where the talk was aloud, then when someone who wants to read Cannabis experiences, and is not yet a member so they don't have the search features, they can rest assured that the experiences in the Experience section on Cannabis.com will be cannabis experiences only.

Hey, I can see your points and there was a time when my body and mind was younger that I probably would have felt the same way. Been there, done that, and that, and that, and a few more of those lets say.....hehehe.

But as for the forum, somebody bought the site that does not want to be associated with that, or that, or a few of those probably for good cause. It's real hard to say these days where the liability starts and stops regarding this type of thing. If someone could pull a law of some sort that would give this site COMPLETE amnesty in which case some dumb kid decided to punch to much or snort his way into a coma then maybe. But I really doubt that is the case. It don't even have to come in the way of direct charges but possible claims in a civil court who knows how much cash.

I can see some "concerned" parent filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against cannabis.com if their lil' Billy happened to read on here that crack wasn't all that bad and ended up with a toe tag. Parents always look for answers in these cases as to "why" and if they happen to see this site with that sort of thing being posted they have their outlet for the anger issue.....

I REALLY doubt if that type of talk will ever be seen on here again. Other sites that allow it are basically playing Russian Roulette with their pockets. I personally enjoy this site and would hate to see it closed down.

I'm pretty disappointed also. I posted in the thread and was really looking forward to reading about the experience. Salvia has helped me a lot and many people don't consider the method I suggested, which offers a milder experience and doesn't scare people like the intensity of smoking an extract. It's like the difference between many hard drugs (extracts) and the plants they came from.

Horror Business, maybe you could post your experience with 'cannabis sativa' or just 'sativa'. I would be interested in that, if you catch my drift.

Psycho4Bud, I see your point, I never looked at it that way, and you're right, I could see some psycho parent trying to sue the site just over the fact that it promotes cannabis, so I see where you're coming from.

Unfortunately, there is a difference between people like me who like to experiment with drugs only after research, and preparation to expand and explore my mind and experience altered states, and the people who just like to get fucked up for the fun of it, without knowing the dangers, limits, or even what it is they're taking.

Because of the irresponsible ones, (and this is why drugs still aren't legal) some people stereotype all "hard"-drug users as worthless drug addicts, etc...

I thought that way too, until I found Erowid which helped expand my knowledge as well as my curiosity.

Snorbel, I tried it tonight, and it worked. I didn't have a negative experience at all. I don't want to say anymore than that, because I intend on writing a full experience tomorrow. It was really cool though, I've never hallucinated before today and it was way better and totally different than I expected it to be.
