SEATTLE -- Got the blue-state blues? Rudi Kischer feels your pain.

The immigration lawyer in Vancouver, British Columbia, plans seminars in three US cities -- Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles -- to tell Americans frustrated with President Bush's reelection that the grass is greener north of the border. And that is not an allusion to Canada's more-lenient marijuana laws.

"We started last year getting a lot of calls from Americans dissatisfied with the way the country is going," Kischer said. "Then after the election, it's been crazy up here. The Canadian immigration website had 115,000 hits the day after the election, from the US alone. We usually only get 20,000 hits."

Its universal health care, gay rights, abortion rights, gun-control laws, drug laws, opposition to the Iraq war, ban on capital punishment, and ethnic diversity mirror many values of the American left. You see, in Canada, we don't judge people by how they look, buddy. Believe me, I've seen a lot of long hair and bushy beards in Montreal, and nobody harasses them. IF you move to a Canadian city, especially Montreal/Toronto/Vancouver, you will learn the true meaning of cultural diversity, and you will be flabergasted at how no one pays any mind anymore to the ethnicity of other people.

I, for example, am Italian, I have a Chinese girlfriend, her bestfriends are cambodian and Laotian, and their boyfriends are Lebanese and Filipino, my best friend is Vietnamese (oh right, americans don't like vietnamese cause they're ALL communists...) and his girlfriend is French-Canadian..... It goes on and on, and nobody really cares, cause we look at the person's personality.

Besides, Santa Claus has long hair and a bushy beard, and the RCMP doesn't go after him... :D

I would like your opinion on why the U.S is such a great place to live..
When the rest of the world can't stand Americans..

You'll never understand why America is such a great place-until you go and live in a country like Saudia Arabia,like I did. I went there to drill waterwells and got a first-hand taste of what it's like to live in a brutal dictatorship..and it made me appreciate America more than I ever thought was possible.

If you don't understand why America is so unique and better,then it's probably the fault of yore liberal school teachers-who hate America.

they did it in the 30's when hitler was still a good christian leader, because they saw the evil he was planning. were those people wrong?

when you see a great evil taking place in this country and everyone else is cheering it on, i can understand why they'd want to leave.

granted, this time, there really is less to choose from since the entire world is coming under this control, but i'd still take the middle of nowhere USA over canada.

Well..it relieves the pain somewhat..I don't know how medical mj would work,cuz I ain't never had any..but basic mex-brick and strong skunk,both help pretty much..I can only imagine what really potent mmj would do. Another way it helps..is the anti-spasmodic relief that I git from weed,the chronic pain I have from my back,causes my muscles to spasm and git all tightened up..but soon as I toke a doobie..it starts to make me relax and make me able to even breath better,because my rib muscles tighten up from the pain.
