Mom is really confusing me...

So I am pretty lax about keeping my smoking a secret. I don't air out the house enough after I smoke, I smoke inside, I leave all my stuff in my closet etc etc. I smoke with my bong (which is pretty loud) while she is upstairs, but only when music is on.

So today I was with a younger friend of mine, like four years younger (I'm a senior), and we were smoking at my house. I'm talking to him about a friend, I open the front door finishing my sentence: "dude AND he grows!"

My mom was outside with the groceries, and she just looked at me. "Hi mom!" akward silence. She asks me to help her with the groceries. I help her out, and so does my friend. My friend drops ALL his groceries and is like trying to pick them up while my mom watches. My friend and I get inside and she blocks teh door and starts talking about someone my friend and I know who is going through surgery. The whole time I feel like she's checking out our eyes.

Well anyway, I give the kid a ride home... the entire time I'm like "fuck man I'm screwed, she's going to check out my closet."

So I get home... and just before I open the door the phone rings. I wait until she picks up and I walk inside, and right up to my bedroom. I wait there for a bit, pulling out my homework and getting to it. (I'm blazed off my ass btw, not just a little whacky.) Suddenly I hear my mom knock on the door.

"Hey hun, are you getting hungry yet?"
"Just a little..."
"Okay I'm going to go start dinner."

(This is standard dialogue between us two.)

When dinner is ready, she calls me, and I go down. We start talking about school, and she makes a point of asking me how all my classes are going. I tell her that they are going well, which is true except I'm alittle behind on the term paper.

I tell her thanks for dinner and that I'm going up... and here I am now posting this.

What do you all thinK? :confused:

my mom is like this too,

i think she knows that i smoke, but since ive been able to keep my grades up and stay out of trouble she doesnt really mind... but i feel like the first time she actually sees me smoking or with weed or perephernalia or i get into trouble or something that she will flip out and go apeshit on me.

shes even said to me once before "you look higher than hell, your eyes are all red and squinty"... it was really akward

shes probally like my mom and doesnt want to admit to herself that her little baby smokes

my mums a bit like this, theres bn so many times when ill come in stoned of my head n shell b like dnt u think you shud cut down on the weed or your stoned aint you. i just usually say no i shudnt cut down and a lil bit she knows i smoke and also knows i was dealing for a short period but its nt like i can sit and smoke a joint in front of her i have to act like im doing it on the sly even if she knows im not. once i move and have my own room im pretty sure she wont really mind me toking in ma room as long as i open a windo but we shall see i move on the 15th of december :)

honestly man, if you dont air out your room after u smoke or be careful about where u keep your stuff, she probably knows.

I'm like 100% sure she knows at this point, she is just acting normal... the thing is she asked me how school was going... so maybe that means she's okay with it as long as school is going well?

maybe, that what my dad says "as long as this doesnt affect your grades" i can understand that, and hes giving me enough leeway so i do try in school

WHAT THE HELL

So here's the deal. I'm starting a grow in my closet (save the napalm for later, guys), and I haven't sorted out wiring an outlet inside my closet yet. I have a big, fat, orange extension cord running out under my door to a nearby outlet.

Anyway, I usually chuck some clothes over my cord right next to my dirty clothes bin. When I came home tonight, the bin had been emptied, the clothes all taken away from in front of the closet, and mom was acting normal again.

I DONT GET IT!



PS. Oh, and I'm 18. I waited until I was 18 to grow in my closet so that way I am the one legally at fault, and my parents are not involved in any way.

Ok, look, your mom isn't that old and she knows what weed is. More then likely she has smoked it in her lifetime. Maybe she smokes it still and that's why you get away with having the smell in the house; because it smells normal to her. :shrug: It's normal for a mom to ask questions about school and stuff to see what you say to make sure you're ok.
Don't be freaked out by any of this. Seems all is cool at your house. :)
In fact, the only thing I'd worry about is being a senior smoking out an 8th grader. (or by 4 years did you mean a frosh?)

You are correct about the house. The law doesn't care how old someone is. The owner of the home is 100% responsible for what happens under their roof.

Yeah um you're entering the stage obviously known to you as the "lax" stage but it's generally the "fucking up" stage. Where you get to that point in your smoking life where you think your moms to dumb to know or just doesn't care and you just let all that shit go on right under her nose but not directly. See what it sounds like to me is your mom trusts you. Like never thought her son would do that so why go through his room or go by it to spell it or care?

You're messing up man. Sounds like you smoking was never an authentic thought in her mind till today. I would watch your back if your mom wouldn't enjoy that shit going around in her house and if you respect any amount of trust she has for you.

Well here's the thing... I asked her a long time ago about her trying weed way before I ever tried it. (At that point I was really against it, and knew a couple kids who were trying it, so I figured I'd ask.)

She told me that at her all girls school there were two guys on her floor that both delt weed and LSD. (Yes, all girl schools will admit guys.) She said one of them was her boyfriend, and that she tried weed. She then told me that she didn't really like it and only did it once...

And about the house thing... I'm gonna get on it and ask a lawyer friend of mine and see what the deal is. Plus, if I come out straight and say in court "I grew the weed, I used it for myself, mom never knew, I hid it from her." etc etc, of course they COULD nail her, but what judge/jury in their right mind would do that?

Plus, she has ZERO priors. The judge/jury would not be serving their purpose of upholding the law if they nailed my mom.
