How to properly clean glass pipe (help)...

I just got my new glass piece and it's a nice one too :). The thing about it though is when I'm not using it, I'd like for it to be clean. The reason why is because I go places alot and you know I'm a "what if" person and I think that's why I am where I am in life because I always take major pre-caution. Basically my point is I need to know how to get this shit out of the bottom of my pipe because I don't want any traces of marijuana in my pipe in case I get stopped by a police. Strange thing is I'd clearly make the cop aware I was high but laugh at him because he couldn't find anything but a pipe with no weed in it :p. Strange yes, but anyways some one help :D.

Also, arn't you a minor, Orangeman? The cops will still give you hell if you have a pipe just for that.

run hot tap water through it-also i use cut pieces of weed trimmer string to remove stubborn tar

get some rubbing alcohol. Put your pipe in a baggy that is like sealable with those little plastic things. Make sure the alcohol gets in the pipe and shake it around for a minute. Go get some salt and poor salt in the pipe and some in the bag. Dont be afraid to use too much salt. shake the bag a lot pretty hard so the salt gets where you want it to and keep shaking for a few mins. Pretty much then just dump everything out, resin should poor out too and then run water through it for a few mins to make sure its nice and clean.

So wait, I wanna make sure I got this straight. I get some rubbing alcohol and pour it in a plastic bag? Then put my pipe in it and then put some salt in there and let it sit for a while...then just rinse my pipe off and it'll be done?

ya pretty much except try to poor the salt directly into the bowl too, it helps. And also dont let it just sit try to shake it around for a little bit. The salt acts as an adhesive to the resin so shaking it will get the resin out well

Yeah I sorta guessed that part. Wasn't too sure on where to put the salt but I didn't know rather it mattered..but now I know :D. Thanks for the help :hippy:

Yeah, it's name is Bob because BobBong gave me the first suggestion for which pipe I should get. Which was the one I have now. :)

just boil up some water throw a little salt in the mix and put the pipe in there, use tongs to shake the pipe arround "this works on pipes and peices with alot of reson" sounds to me like your going to clean it alot more frecuently so i think some rubbing alcohal and a q tip will work just fine

Hey orange, the easiest way to clean a pipe completely, is simply soak it in oxy clean. No scrubbing, no shaking, just soak it in hot water and oxy clean. Thats what the guy at the headshop back home told me. I was trying to buy some of the formula 420 from them and he's like look man, save your 7 bucks and get a bottle of oxyclean, works just as good. And he was right.

For your pipe, you can soak it inside a baggie or in a bowl. Make sure to use hot water then rinse with hot water, and it should look like brand new.

Ok just one question. Using all this real chemical cleaner...if residue is left at the bottom of the bowl where it's not reachable is that healty if it gets heated?

With my pieces, I would always scrape them first and make a little ball, then boil them and take that resin, dry it, then combine it with the scraped resin. If you want to keep the resin so you can smoke it I wouldn't suggest the alcohol and salt technique, I would just boil it then dry the resin. Now that I think of it, I have a fat ball of resin somewhere. I have no clue where I hid it, so I'm assuming I did it when I was stoned because I can't even remember hiding it haha.

Ya I've tried boiling it a couple times. I think I didn't boil it long enough ause there was still resin left in the bottom of the bowl. Also boiling it will make your kitchen smell like resin. so if you are expecting your parents to come home soon i wouldnt boil it. Also with the chemical cleaners and stuff, they should work great just make sure to run a lot of hot water through your pipe afterwards to get the chemicals and shit out.

After you boil it, there will still be some resin it in, you just have to get a safety pin or something and get it. It will be really easy to get out, and when you'll get it out in huge clump, but you need to dry it afterwards and compact it into a ball so it will get a lot smaller than it first appears. Gets you stoned nonetheless.

how much did you buy that pipe for? it looks pretty cheap. i had a few of those twisty ones...they break so easily at the twisty part.

Oxy clean rinses right off if you run water through. I've always cleaned pipes this way, and never had a problem with it not rinsing out thoroughly.

yea man honestly this is the easiest way i think. ^^

first i would try and clean the bowl out best i could first witha paper clip and make a resin ball.

just make sure nobody is home and get a pot with some water and set it to boil. if you dont want to get resin inside the pot, you can just fill up a glass with water and put your pipe inside that, and the glass inside the pot.

once you boil it for a while, youll still have some resin inside the pipe, but it will be very easy to just scrape off with your paper clip.

if you're wanting to save the resin, then use my stickied guide at the top....

if you don't want to smoke resin, then just use alcohol and salt, shake like hell, i always drop a couple drops of dish soap in afterwards, fill the chamber of the pipe about half way with water, cover all holes and shake like hell (be very careful make sure you got a damn good grip on it at this point, or you'll end up throwing the son of a bitch and be like DOH!)
