"You'll miss high school!"
Oh shut up.
But damn were they right.
I'm a senior, involved in a relationship that - if I don't get my shit straight and get some money for us to live off of after school, she'll be moving with her family when she graduates.
Not even smoking anymore. Not enough money and just don't see the point after 6 months of probation for being arrested with half a fucking bowl in a pipe.
I still need a job.
I don't know what I'm going to go to college for since I bombed my through high school.
A career plan sounds about as worthless as a roll of TP to wipe my ass with right now, it's not too important as of now, but it sure is worth to have in the end.
I'm not trying to be an ungrateful little bitch, I mean I'm better off than most 17 year olds. I'm just saying I never thought I would listen and agree when they told me I'll be missing the high school days.

Growing up can be horribbly shocking. It seems like over night life changes.
You have some priorities to get going on.
Can you go to a community college while working full time? It's hard but you are young and can do it easily.
Don't smoke. Save every last penny you can. If this is important to you, you will find the strength inside of yourself to take care of what needs to be done.
Never give up on something that really is easy to rectify if you just DO IT!
Believe me...do it while you are young and still in the groove.

The high school days are just another phase that everyone goes through, when everything seems like the world is going to crash down. I know where you're comin' from.
It gets better. Like tootsie said, any way you could get into a community college? Go there for 2 years, get your grades up and work part-time while you're at it for money. Then, if desired, transfer to a 4 year university and get a decent degree. It's not going to be a cake-walk, but it can be done with a lil motivation and work. Even if you get a job at fast food, it still pays money. Where is the girlfriend moving to? I'm guessing pretty far away?
-
"You'll miss high school!"
Yeah...pretty far if we can't support each other.
Yeah I'll end up at a community college but I want to be a teacher..I know it seems impractical after how horrible I did all throughout H.S but teaching isn't all about just geometry and being as eventful as a stick of chalk. I wanna go to like film school of take video production in college and some english classes because I also like to write. It would be cool to teach those things, and deal with degenerate teens that were much like myself every day when I'm older.
Wow I'm such a schmuck. Talking about my future on a message board dedicated to weed. They don't wanna see this, just stories about getting baked and setting fields on fire.

I miss highschool too, although it wasn't really "high" school for me until my senior year if you know what i mean ;) Either way, good times.

Burning fields...I didn't know we could do that...who's in...jk
High School was alright, you could survive with a complete lack of responsibility, I still don't think that justifies all the BS that was involved with school. I would rather work a shitty job at a gas station the rest of my life than go back to high school. You'll eventually see how lame high school was.
-
"You'll miss high school!"
btw college, its just tops...It's the bee's knees..just wait and see
-
"You'll miss high school!"
the bee's knees? i don't get it. i actually kind of miss high school, though. not because of the work, obviously, but we had some pretty cool teachers. our german teacher owned.

I quit before i got any qualifications, but i still got a job, a very well paying job, and my own place to live. I can afford everything i need in life, all withkout qualifications. Im basically a manager at the boat yard i work at. But then again, you wanna be a teacher so yeah, i guess you cant just quit.
Well, remember qualifications dont mean EVERYTHING, infact, if you cant do the job they mean sweet fuck all.

"You'll miss high school!"
I think like overall I'll miss being taken care of by my parents and shit, I mean who wouldn't. You don't have to do anything but go to school. But school alone is something I won't miss. I would rather work, honestly I would rather do neither but I do work. Not full time but still, the point is I actually like working right now. Maybe it'll change when I become an adult and have to work for real businesses and stuff but as it is right now I enjoy my life the best way that I know how to.

"You'll miss high school!"
I don't miss high school at all. 18-22 were the best years of my life. Unlimited freedom and youth.
-
"You'll miss high school!"
Hey dude, at least you're doing it now, i feel bad for all those people who get the shock of real life AFTER COLLEGE. not being able to take care of yourself after you get past 20 is lame in my book.

Ever thought about the military?

Geezuz, if you think you have problems now with a high school love affair that might end after graduation, wait until you grow up and really fall in love. You do not have a clue as to what real love is yet, all you have is high school hormonal love and that aint the real thing.
Busted and on probation for a half a bowl? You either fucked yourself by copping out in court, or you got railroaded by a shitty public defender. Either way a half a bowl was foolish to have out in public if you know the man can get you for possesion.
It may seem cold now, but in 25 years when you look back on it, you will see what I meant. I remember my 1st probation officer, he was a nice guy that let me get away with murder.

graduating in a few months too, and my future is totally up for grabs

theres more to life than smoking a plant. thats why this is the lounge, not all talk here is focused on bud. ppl having other hobbies.
some of the teachers ive had, id be SHOCKED if i found out they had pretty good grades. as long as you focus on your subject of primary interest, and a few others that relate, you can be just fine.

Doesn't matter if you bombed your way through high school. Did you graduate and get your diploma? Go to community college.
What is so bad about your girlfriend living with her family? Do you have to move in with eachother right away?
I didn't do that good in high school...and I went on to community college for 2 years...and now I am attending University.
I kind of understand where you are coming from in a sense though, I am moving in with my boyfriend in 2 weeks and I am really worried about money...
I am going to probably have to switch to going to school part time...hopefully not though. I am hoping to go full time and work part time...still not sure how it's going to work out yet.
Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with going to community college...You may be eligible for financial aid too, and if not ..you can always get loans. Also you may be eligible for work study, which is getting paid by working at the school..which usually works around school schedules.
There is all kinds of options out there for you, you just gotta get on it!

HS is really..bullshit. More of preparing you for college where its the real deal if you're trying to be something crazy. My uncle is a doctor making a lot of money and he dropped out of highschool, took his G.E.D (some test giving you a diploma), went to a community college, then after those 2years transfered to a 4year and so on..If you remember..didn't they say the same things about jr high when you were in 6th grade?

I hate high school, I can't wait to get the fuck out.
I'm thinking college is going to be amazing (i know it will), and I'll most likely get a nice job right out of college..i think they said something like 50% of the students that graduate from that business school have a job waiting for them when they graduate, and the rest find jobs soon after. So I should be set..:D

EDIT: crap someone already answered it LOL

College isn't good for everyone; neither is high school.
I didn't enjoy either.
But what I think is important, is decide what you want to do, figure out how you are going to do it, and then do it.
If you don't know WHAT you want to do, then figure that out first. Look up "average salaries" on google to figure out what you might make at each potential job, figure out what it takes to get that job, and then decide where to start. Community college? Technical college? A state college? An apprenticeship?
You'll figure it out, but don't blindly take anyone's advice. Think for yourself and make a goal, then figure out what you can do to reach it, even if it takes you ten years to get there.
Even if you never achieve your goal, you will be working towards something you believe in, and you will find options along the way you never knew existed - and you can take those opportunities when they arise.
I know that is wishy-washy but believe me, I am "successful" but have also been miserable at some points. You need to believe in what you are doing, and not let your circumstances hold you down. You do have options - you just need to think about what they are, and choose one.
