Do a search on the net on makeing hash from male plants. Not sure how potent it is but everyone i know says you can do it.
demonangel :rasta:
the male plant has virtually no thc to it ,
ortho i have heard of people making hash or butter out of it
cheers all :)
male plants flower like female plants they just have staminate flowers which do not contain much thc at all. imo it is a waste of time to grow males unles you are a breeder. the thc content is so low that you might as well save your time and buy some schwagg. if you grow out male plants you better real clean your growroom afterward so as not to seed future grows with any leftover pollen.
i had males 2 weeks ago i cut them down and smoked them it got me pretty high, if you do get them flower them if it's worth your while for 2 weeks longer if possible there thc content increases as it flowers reaching it's peak at about 5 to 7 weeks flowering.

The female will then grow false seed pods, and normally, if the male pollen and touched the pistilles seeds would grow in these. But because you havnt pollenated the female, it'll concentrate on THc production as well as bud or flase seed pod production. When the plant is pollenated it still produces THC, but not as much because it's focusing on the seeds. Also, if you do seed a plant and want viable seeds you'd harvest much later than if you was going to smoke. They need to mature.
All in all, unless you want a seed harvest, you dont want males. You can make minute amounts of hash form them, but it's a hard drawn out process and i dont think it's worth it at all.
JUst kill them and get rid of them, and concentrate on your females, they're the plants that'll give you something smokeable.
All I know is that the males I have smoked got me high. Not as good as their sisters, but OK. Maybe I just have good genetics growing, but the males will indeed get me high! Been toking for 40 years. - Granny
i know that is how males flower. but they do flower and the flowers are called staminate flowers(notice i duidn't say buds) the clusters of balls you speak of are called staminate flowers. PICK UP A BOOK AND RESEACH WORDS YOU DON'T KNOW BEFORE YOU TRY TO CONTRADICT ME BUT END UP JUST SAYING THE SAME THING I DID WITH DIFFERENT WORDS!Quote:

THEY DO FLOWER if they didn't then they would just veg and never produce any pollen so the cannabis plant would become extinct after 1 generation unless mother nature found her own method of cloning. so as i said before males flower like females but the flowers are different (staminate not pisillate) which are pretty much useless except for collecting pollen. it's that simple.Quote:

look at this photo, and tell me again, how male plants have no THC ... I am so sick of all the bad inforrmation going around ,,, Hi, Stormie ! ... :smokin:
ummmm, but thats a female you're showing a picture of there Frank.
freewheelinfrank, after seeing the seeded female plant i still say that male plants have low thc and are not worth growing except for making seeds.
Some people have a very low tolerance and dont need much leaf to get stoned. Especially with todays super-strains.
Male leaf, female leaf, no matter to some people. What I would do is cure the leaf. Then I'd smoke it :pimp:
Ok, the term "goes to flower" could be said of males or females. Yes they both mature and work on reproduction. Females have pistils, and males have pollen sacks. One could define that as "flowering" and be correct, but in general people tend to call male reproductive growth as "balls" and female as "flowers".
Dont worry mate, that is what i thought you meant but i wasnt sure lol.Quote:

To me, that looks like a seeded female, therefore it's not a male.Quote:

So, males have such a low amount of THC it's easier to throw them away.
haaahahhhahahahahaaa....
if your so sick of the bad info going around u best stop posting it lol, thats meant to be a male plant yeh? well, males dont make seeds.... fool...Quote:

Then there's the hermie scenario. I regret throwing out two that I knew were hermies because I could see a few random pistils toward the top and mostly balls everywhere else. I'm mad because they were Northern Lights seeds, and now I'm down to my last two seeds.
Males are useless unless you want to breed.
There's not enough resin to bother with hash really unless you have an exceptional male, in which case, send him over here so I can breed him! A resinated male IMO is far more valuable than all the mothers in my garden.
I'd recommend letting it continue to flower and pollute all the ladies in the room, then smoke the expended pollen sacks for a taste treat you'll never forget. (you'll be able to taste the boy parts in hermie buds forever after)Quote:

smoke the resident pollen sacks?
you mean cut off those acorn shaped--oval shaped pods and dry them out, crush them powder and smoke them? at what point in flowering..at what week?
what does that taste like and why bother since the THC is less than 1% anyway compared to a female which is anywhere from 7-20% depending on the strain.
Ewww. That sounds a bit unpleasant.
Oh BTW Volker I was going through my male collection again last night with a magnifying glass and DID find a few trichs on one of the dudes... but not enough really to get all hot and bothered about unfortunately.
Why don't we put it this way- Male plants can have THC, but they are far lower in THC than their sisters. Males from a good strain are usually (what is the term?) a low grade schwag(?) and if you got bud, why bother? Since Stinky found the trichs, we can dispense with the "Males have absolutely no trichs" myth. I've seen them, too and used them to decide which of 2 males to save the pollen from (other was smoked immediately, since we were in early bud with the girls and out of stash- mites got in the previous grow = low yeild :( I know, I'm a barbarian for smoking males, but any port in the storm!). Even at that stage, the girls looked better. Males can make a reasonable emergency stash, if you can grow them somewhere where they won't cause mischief. I heard a dude say (rather crudely, so I'll clean it up) that trichs on cannabis are like breasts on humans. Both have them, but on females, they are bigger and better. Trichs on a male are counter-productive. Trichs are sticky. Pollen should not be stuck to the male plant- it needs to float free to a nice, sticky, female plant. Any male that has trichs has a good chance of carrying a nice genetic package for heavier trich production. With a few generations of selective breeding, Stinky, you may have a winner! Keep checking those males for trichs!
DAMN it STILL won't let me give you more rep! pooey.
lol I love it. Like breasts on humans :D
