The Little Things in Life

I thought there was a thread like this, but it is still hiding from me, so anyways . .

What little, seemingly insignificant things do you value in your life? What lets you know you're REALLY alive?

For me, I love that first rush of fresh air after getting out of class. The feeling of being free mixed with the fresh air just does something to me I guess.

The smell of a cold winter day just as I wake up. Everything smells so clean, pure. Top that off with some snow and I might never leave the house =)

Or the way the leaves blow in every direction after a car passes over them. Again, it's the freedom of it all.

Or those late-night conversations when it's just the two of you, talking about everything. Those let me know I'm truly ALIVE. Haven't had one in a while, but the last one left a smile on my face for a few days. Those deep connections in conversation are few and far between it seems, but hey, don't lose HOPE.

So how 'bout all of you? ~

I love the smell after it's rained... a refreshing kind of piney smell, smelling that stoned is probably my ultimate thing to do. I dunno what it is... but damn, it's amazing.

And wildlife, i love seeing birds and animals going about their daily business while im watching... stoned as fuck. It's like im with them... it's crazy, and a tad hard to explain, but the simplest things make me feel good, and give me a reason to stay around..

when im walking up hill for hours
muscles burn with pain,
sweat dripping down my face
chest heaving from shortness of breath
then all of a sudden
im on the mountain top
looking down on the birds and clouds
and the ugly dirty city below

i like that

My most valued thing in the World would have to be myself. I just couldn't or wouldn't want to be anyone else. I also like to watch otters fuck about.

I love waking up with my boyfriend snuggling me in his sleep. It is so perfect and peaceful, I was just thinking yesterday..how that is one of my favorite things in the whole world. Being half asleep and just feeling his warm body..just knowing that he really loves me for me...and that it is just so amazing to have that. Really I know I sound stupid..but I just can't begin to explain how great it is...to just have that. I never thought that I would have something like that. Have a best friend like him...

Other things that make me happy....the nature, god I love the nature! Nothing can make me feel more at peace than being out in the middle of nowhere where all I can hear is the wind...smokin' that fat bowl while lookin' out at all the beautiful green scenery...thats the best....just being away from it all.

Also..animals make me happy..and little kids. Just that wonderful innocence and ignorance...it's so amazing! How they just have nothing but love and want nothing but love.

Also...my family makes me happy, I am so lucky to have such a great family...my mother is my hero, shes the most amazing person I know...shes my best friend. I only hope to be at least half as strong as she is someday...

Also..my best friend..I value her passion! She is amazing and has so much passion in her life that I know shes going places. I feel so lucky to have such an awesome friend as my best friend..sure, we are really different...but thats what I love about her...she does what she wants and has a great time and is successful at what she does. She is going to go far in life.

I also value another good friend of mine..who has taught me so much about myself. She is one of the strongest people I have ever met..and has a good head on her shoulders. She found me and made herself my friend, and I can't thank her enough for it...she is always there for me with some for of rational that always makes me feel better. Even when he brother commited suicide, I have never seen someone deal with something so well...she was the back bone for everyone.

I could go on for days about things I value....because I value a lot..I may not always show it...but I do...

- Rain. In San Diego, it's beautiful, sunny, and 75-85˚ eight months out of the year. It's not that I don't appreciate living in one of the most wonderful climates in the world, but somehow, it makes me appreciate the beautiful, lively cleanliness of rain. It's been drizzling on and off all day today, for the first time in a long time, and sitting outside, breathing the crisp, clean air and watching the water fall is incredible and harmonious, somehow.

- My younger brother. We've only recently become close, but it's fascinating to talk to him, to see how alike we are and yet how different.

- Random kindness. Harmony. Despite the hatred we're currently drowning in, love and peace have not abandoned us, not yet.

- David Gilmour. John Lennon. Neil Young.

Looking out my kitchen window and watching all the wildlife I attract with seed... No one around hear seems to be in touch with the little things,,,I love simplicity...

watching animals just do their own thing, I love watching the squirrels on campus scamper around. They aren't scared of people at all.

- Walking in the front door and seeing your family sitting at the dinner table waiting for you before they eat

- When you're laughing with a friend, but that kind of laugh that is so pure. Just laughin' forever.

- A solid mark on an essay. Makes you feel you are on the right track

- Watching a movie on the couch with my cat sleeping on my stomach and the dog lying below me. :D

I forgot crunchy leaves. I love it when I step on a leaf and it crunchs. It's just so fall.

when i say smiling and laughing i mean real smiles and laughter. not fake ones or forced ones. true ones :)

im deepely in love with the smell of winter, right before it snows..its so calming. like wood being burned but without the smokey smell. i cant describe it..
or when im burning the herb, and i sit back and realise how lucky i am, to be doing what i am. and how fuckin sweet it is. its sucha good feeling!

and the feeling of waking up on a snow day..and realising theres no school so i make hot cocoa and sit on the radiator andf get all cozy
oh also nature, whebever i see alot of greenery it puts me in such a great mood

its the ultimate (as long as the pigs dont pull up on your raft and you have to throw your pyrex bowl overboard)

i love my mother when im baked, once i asked her to bake me some cookies and make me a hot chocolate when i was baked and she did it! then i completely kicked her ass at wheel of fortune, but sober, eh, shes okay

When, after a full day of hiking, you look down at the clouds. Staying there until it gets dark and staring at the stars, while taking a hit.

I love waking up very early when I have a free day. Stepping outside when the sun isn't out yet... the entire world has a blue tint to it. The air seems fresher, and knowing that I have a full day ahead of me where I can do whatever the fuck I want. :thumbsup:

i live on a mountain on a tropical island and nothing is more beautiful than watching the sun rise over the horizon and seeing it shine upon the trees and hearing the birds chirp away. i know i have the almighty to thank 4 everyting hes givin us in this world u know sometimes when im torched i jus stop and look at everyting around me and think on how amazing it all is
