Found out Dad smokes, completely shocked

As the title shows, i found 2 joints in my dads office. This is a complete fucking shock, im shaking right now, im not sure if im happy or wierded out. He is like, super high strung kinda guy, obsessed with his buisness he owns, always telling me never drink or smoke weed. He always checks my eyes and shit when i come home from somewhere to make sure i wasn't smoking. man oh man, im so weirded out right now. how should i approach this? should i pretend it didn't happen? Should i talk to him? talk to my mom? wow dude...just wow

Haha of COURSE you blackmail his ass. Don't be weirded out, it'll make your life alot easier. Just call him out on being a hypocrite (as long as your being safe and responsible about your toking)

DON'T talk to your mom, being a married man, it's just fucked up to a man in shit with his wife, whether you're the child or not... just ask him why he's so worried about you smoking, when he does.. but first be sure they're even his.. do you know without a doubt they're his, and not say confiscated from you or something....? if he has high stress, i don't blame him for smoking... and what's so weird about it anyways? is it so weird you smoke, or anyone else on this site? your dad is a person too... lol

I don't know...hes in a different position. Hes looking out for your best interest.

On one hand, your dad, an upstanding citizen(?) who owns his own business enjoys the herb.

And then theres you, a highschool kid(?) who has ____ grades and gets/doesn't get in trouble, etc.

Don't know the situation you are in, but your dad seems to have his stuff together so unless you do too, don't call him a hypocrite. I'm just thinking thats something he could throw in your face maybe.

How old are you too? Maybe wait till your 18 and say "hey dad, I found 2 of your joints one day, so how 'bout we light one up?" it seems like most parents would prefer their child to be 18 before lighting up if they are going to approve of it at all.

Im 18 years old, and i get a 4.0. Plus i was like the easiest kid to raise, they dont have to push me to get good grades, and i have never done any stupid shit. And yes, its my dads...unless its my moms, which i HIGHLY doubt. Its not mine for sure, cuz i smoke blunts and he has two hella nicely rolled joints (i can tell he has rolling skillz)...its not my brothers, he smokes but he lives in AZ, i live in CA, and he has never been to our new house

then perhaps it's time for a man to man talk with your dad....

you know... this is sort of reminding me of a quote that my homie P.Miller once said, when i was in the 7th grade, and im just now understanding what he ment when it was said, but anyways, P.Miller said "EVERY ONE SMOKES POT" im just now understanding, that what he said, he was talking about, dont be surprised about who smokes pot... cause like when he said that, we were talking about how we had just found out that my ex step dad was a bud smoker, and i thought for sure my mom wouldnt be with him if he was a stoner, yet, she was the one that told me...

BTW, the first time you do smoke weed with your parents, if you ever do smoke weed with him, it will be awakward...and you will be inbaresed when they take a hit off a bong, and cash the bowl in one hit, and walk to the kitchen, and not even be stoned....

atleast that how i was... me and my dad only smoked together like 2 times... but he did let me use his bongs, and never got mad when i scraped his pipes and bongs...and he would also give me a bud every now and then...

lol dude, my first experience was much diffrent... i smoked with my dad (before he got heavy into crack, again.) me and both of my brothers did actually, off a 1.5 foot (about) steam roller, made out of a cop-issue mag light (you know one of those big ass 6 cell ones? http://www.saveonlighting.com/itemdetail.asp?item=1282) it was akward, but the only one that would have been embarrased was my littlest brother, as that was the only person that took a lesser hit then my dad... and my dad took like 2-3 hits, and was just fucking wrecked, it was funny as fuck actually... pretty much right after that he went straight down to HEB and bought a bunch of food to cook (he was a sous chef for a very fancy, high end resturant, he knows how to cook, so does my mom and so do i, just ask my wife ;) it runs in our blood i guess...) came home and cooked it... he was a skinny little bastard, either me or my middle brother weighed quite a bit more than him... but i dont' think either me or my brother could've ate as much as he did.... we also got my dad to smoke blunts with us... take us to the beach (to stay there all night, camp out) with like 6 blunts between 5 people, and 2 36 packs of beer... best night i ever had with my dad... sadly now, i've disowned him because he used my brothers death to get money for crack... but i always remember those times...

i smoked with my ex's mom and she got real high pretty easy..and why do old people always smoke joints...

I recently just got in touch with my both my brothers again after 5 years and found out their mom smokes and they've smoked with her. It was kinda wierd knowing, but I'm sure it was more awkward for them the first time.

Talk to him, and let him know you smoke.. He can't say shit to you, cause he's a pot smoker himself.

I would just take one of his joints and let him think for a while...

oh the memories, i remember being like 8 and finding my dad's stashes around the house, and not knowing what it was i would show my mom (who would get mad at me but only cause she didnt know how to tell me and my brother). This happened for a few years, me and my brother would always come across little baggies of buds here and there and one day in the winter we went to go shovel and there was a big baggie in one of the gloves and my brother pulled it out in front of my dad so they told us then... after that my dad was alot more relaxed about it, we never smoked together at the time but we knew where all the plants were in the bush. it actually wasnt untill a few years ago when me and my dad first smoked together. It was very awkward at first, but now whenever im home or if my parents are visiting me we always blaze, its great.
Alot of people would be surprised by the amount of people that smoke weed or once have. After my dad came clean to me and my brother we soon learnt that nearly all the adult population in our little community were stoners, im sure its the same in alot of other places too.

Either way dont do anything stupid like calling him a hypocrit or anything, just find a way to let him know you know. and then one day when hes stressed as fuck tell him you have a blunt with his name on it.

one night when i was home my dad went out the back door for a while. he would do it to smoke a cigarette once in a while so i didnt think anything of it. then he came back inside after a few minutes and i started to smell weed. i went out in my backyard to see if a neighbor was chiefing or something then i turned and looked at my dad and he was blazed. i was like holy shit!

then last night my mom found my light bulb vaporizor in my college apartment and was completely cool with it.

its pretty cool when you know both of your parents are down with pot.

You're 18, time to toke with your dad.

...and yeah my parents are cool with it now just because they've given up stopping me. They know im trying to prove to them I can be responsible about it and keep my grades up.

Lol wow, my dad is also a hard ass. He even told me he doesn't smoke and expects me to be the same (yeah right :p). But if I EVER caught him with something that indicates that he's been smoking marijuana I'll probably catch a heart attack.

My dad is a hardcore republican hardass, all he does is work and annoy the fuck out of me. My mom on the other hand is a big time liberal who i will definitely be smoking with one day in the future...

Ive learned never to be suprised about who smokes. But the first time my old man pulled over to roll a spliff on our way home from a recruiting visit to UW I was alittle shocked. But dont be weirded out man. One of my coaches and teacher had a plant growing in his back yard.

Ya, id pretty much talk to him about it.. Just say youre cool with it and everything. I wouldnt wait till later..that might give him the chance to say he stopped a while ago even if he didnt.

But thats pretty cool your dad smokes, wish my dad did a lil.
