When should I start flowering??

I've had a few posts in the past about my 1st grow - I think all the help has really worked. My plant is about 12" tall (maybe a little taller). I'm growing in a closet where my plant can be about 3' tall at the max. I've heard that plants double or triple in size during flowering and I'm wondering if I should change to 12/12 in order to induce flowering or if I should let these guys go a little longer to maximize production. You can flower now, but remeber, less vegg time-less yeilds.

I started flowering a dom. sativa strain about 3 weeks ago, and it was maybe 10inches in height when I switched, well the bugger is almost 3ft in height now! It went crazy and I had to extend my grow space another 1.5ft.

So yes, you can flower now.

What kind of light are you using? If your'e not using 1000watts, it makes no sense to grow them any bigger...

:p :p :p They started their 12/12 cycle this morning at 9 a.m. with 12 hours of darkness. I'm using a 400w MH bulb - any recommendation on blooming nutes? I've been using PureBlend Pro for Growing by recommendation from local hydro shop. Thanks for the compliment, I think they're looking good too!

My new plan now that I'm on 12/12 is to water the plants at/near the beginning of the 12 hours of light. Is there any pro's/con's to watering at certain times when there is light or when there is no light? I'd like to leave the plants undisturbed throughout the 12 hours of darkness, hence watering them at the beginning of their light period. Also, I'm watering the first few days with normal water, and switching to bloom here in a few days. Do watering trends change during the flowering period (due to growth, etc..)?

get the pure blend bloom formula, i use it, and its amazing. I guess all the hydroshop owners like this stuff cause its what told me to use aswell.

NO they do not need to start alternating before you put the plant into 12/12..

one of my plants wouldnt flower for ages before it got alternating nodes...

No, water is as normal.

BUT, during the dark period make sure it's complete DARKNESS and no interupptions because the plant measures the un-interuppted darkness which releases a flowering hormone.

Your plant doesnt have to have alternating nodes to flower, but most people flower when they start alternating. [doesnt matter though]

Id flower now.

And gardenknowms right, no point in growing them really big unless you have the space and something like a 1000 watter because anything less and it wont penetrate to the bottom nodes.

And dont cut any leaves off, way too many people do this, but there is no need. It'l stress the plant and stunt growth, and thats a very bad thing during flowering,.

Cool - the darkness is uninterrupted - the system is in a closet which is in a room that has one window thats pretty much boarded off. The room is off limits except to me and my girl. I spend time with the plants at night, contributing as much of my CO2 as I can... I'm thinking about putting a stereo in there and playing classical music and Bob Marley... :rasta:

hey ...I saw on Mythbusters that they subjected plants-snow peas- to different kinds of music (classical, heavy metal, and some other kinds? can't remember) and different kinds of speaking ('nice' talk and 'mean' talk) on a radio/tape recorder. The plants that seemed to do the best were the ones that had heavy metal playing- believe it or not. You should ck out the episode if you watch that show. That's a nice looking grow, Good Luck!

^^ I have motivational messages stuck up around my grow room and a little stereo down there. I play my girls a mix of everything.. from reggae to classical.

Also when I go down to water I talk to them about my day and tell them I love them.... my girlfriend gets a bit jealous...

Maybe I'm crazy but I reckon plants can feel love :D .... and my first grows gone pretty good so far.

This is the same principle as blowing air on your plants. Sonic waves hit your plants and stimulate stem thickness and growth. Heavy metal and rock are usually loudest and lowest frequencies so therefore makes plants grow better.
No magic here.

lol i made a little boom boom room, with a light, a fan, a small speaker and a tweeter, and i used to use it whenever a plant was sick, and along with the right treatment, they allways recovered quickly and well... i used to play it happy tunes like old skool, Ratpack, Rebel mc, Billy bunter... anything that makes you happy...

soon im gonna make a bloom boom room... for budding flowers...

i got to say the boom boom room for ur sick babies is a wkd idea lol and yeah why not try it for the flowering let us no how it works out man
