whats wrong with dealers

ok i have been trying for about a week to get an ounce. yesterday someone rang me and said i got half ounce for 65 i said ok ill take it picked it up looked about right got it home weighed it and all was fine exept it was little damp oh forget to mention it was bang on 14 grams. anyways thought id brown bag it overnight to dry abit and got up this morning buds were dry but it only weighs 10 gram im so pissed off why cant dealers be bothered to dry and not rip people off. Dont get me wrong it is high grade shit but he shouldnt of sold it as half ounce. and should of charged me 50. do you guys think i have a right to moan at him?

You're lucky you're getting a 1/2oz for 65. People pay over 150 for that.

not uk pounds they dont maybe about 70 but still feel pissed at him trying to sell it as half ounce

where did you get 18 grams from?

so do i have a case to rant at my dealer or no im sick of getting fucked over by scummy dealers

thats tru. i hav to pay $160 where i live. but they r about 15 16g halves.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he could have just gotten it like that for all you know. But even still, if you got it for 60 you have no right to say anything. Plus, whenever you bitch and moan to your dealer about something like that you have no proof and you lessen your chances for him to deal with you in the future.

Dank bud sells for no less than $200 a half here, so consider yourself really lucky and write it off and maybe get from someone else next time.

If its good shit i wouldnt say nothing. Maybe next time you cop from him make a joke about it so he knows that you know.

65 is a normal price in England, anymore than that and you'd be being ripped off.

But let this be a lesson. Never buy wet weed, 75 - 80% of wieght is water.

Only ever buy dry bud, then you can get ripped off. [As long as it's wieghed up]

I got dank mids (nice grow) that has seeds in it for $95 a 1/2. Shit is tight. The only thing wrong is the seeds... which is nothing wrong because now I got seeds!

a few rules that I live by (others may not agree):

1. never, ever bite the hand that feeds you.
2. you will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
3. fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me

meaning: if this is your only source, and you want to keep buying, keep it civil. I would give him another chance and if it happens again, then I would say something - polite but firm. Remember, it's a business deal, and you should use the same tone of voice that you would with your boss when asking for a raise.

Yeah, this could have at least be partially avoided if you would have checked the dryness of the bud when he gave it to you, then you could have said something. Whenever I buy over 1/8, I ALWAYS get it weighed in front of me, and my dealer is happy to comply. If yours is hesitant about it, simply get a new dealer.

Once you bring the bud home, don't bring it back to him saying you got ripped off, because he would be wary that you might have taken some and then handed it back.

you would understand if you were a dealer.. they pay for that weight too, if he dried it out he would lose money

But that's the thing, weed shouldn't be about who makes more money, or ripping off your customers. It's ungerground, tax free, illegal, yet there are a few dealers who think only of their profits, and don't care about ripping people off...

That's not what the herb is for. If they want to do that, then sell something else. I have no tolerance for asshole dealers, no matter how much they can hook me up.

Drying the weed is the growers responsibility, not the dealer. The dealer sells it as he gets it, thats his job, an intermediate between you and a grower. If you go down to a ford dealership and buy a car which falls apart, its fords fault, not the salesman's. Get your blame straight, and also realise that all weed loses weight.. its rarely sold bone dry.

Bad analogy.. Ford company is a legit business first of all, Drug dealing is not. Second, a car falling apart is a huge deal and results in a total loss. Getting wet bud could be more comparable to buying a new car and it being dirty, and having to wash it off yourself. Dont forget that the growers arent ever even going to know the people that end up smoking that bud, and as long as its good enough hes going to get rid of it.

I appologize, I don't see what your getting at.

The point still stands. If your weed is wet, your quarrel is with the grower, not the dealer. Drying and curing is not the dealers job, its an intimate part of the growers work, and if you've ever grown before, this would be clear as day.

If your weed is wet, find a dealer with a different supplier, but leave the damn dealer alone. His job is to get the growers product into your hands, and nothing more.

speaking as a dealer i inspect my purchases and buy a quality ounce for my customers... dealers shouldnt buy weed that their customers arent going to be satisfied with.

and another thing you're tossing aside is the fact that most customers don't even know who the dealer's grower is, and dealers like to keep it that way. your ford tells you who to go to if it breaks down right on your dashboard.

I'd beg to differ. A dealer has very little incentive to do this as a majority of people who buy weed take the dealers quote on weight as given. How many average pot smokers own a scale? Keep in mind your average and most common smoker is not like a member on this site. They don't know all the intricate detailt about pot, they dont own scales, they don't read online cannabis forums; they buy a 20 sack for a weekend with thier buddies every now and then and just smoke it. Hell, I'd be willing to bet a majority of people on this very site dont own any sort of scale and use visual estimation to asses weight - something which deliberate addition of water doesn't affect. I invite you to create a poll asking what portion of members own any kind of scale. Let me know how it goes.

Your probably going to break out the "well, people have it weighed out infront of them" - also very rare in your typical circumstance. It's handed off after a quick visual inspection.. if even that, and thats that.

Your yourself are also throwing aside the notion that maybe the grower may deliberately not fully dry thier product to obtain more money from the dealer - someone who is actually concerned with weight and owns a scale or three.. They also buy by the weight ya know.

Yes, they don't know this, which is why i suggest finding a different dealer if this problem should arise. You can't go and complain to the grower, thats the way it is. If you can't change something, be assertive. Find someone new.

I would talk to him and tell him what happened, at least see what he will do about it. If he does nothing, then if you buy from him again make sure it's dry. Or, move on.

some dealers are shady as hell. But when you find a good don't let go for anything. Took me 3 years to find a guy whos fair and honest with premo shit for cheap, those guys are one in a million.

It wasn't that bad of a deal and you knew it was wet when you bought it.

Where im from (near london) we had a drought, but its all over now. Plenty of nice skunk to be had in these parts.

In response to the original poster, you have to bear in mind that the dealer you got it from is in the same boat is you, he paid full price for damp weed too, unless he is a grower in which case he really should know better.

all i can say is that if you really feel put out, or if it happens a lot then by all means have a word with him so he knows not to try and mess you around.

He lives in the UK. their money is measured in pounds not dollars and because of the national debt and trade deficits(thanks Bush) their money is worth twice as much in exchange. so 65 pounds equals about $130 US.
