i bought a pack of 10 seeds and planted 2, they turned out to be male, so i planted another 2 and i'm now waiting for them to show there sex, i was wondering what is the ratio between male and female in a typical bag of seeds? and what are the chances of 1 or both of my new ones being female?
anything i can do to maximise the odds?:confused:
this is why i buy feminised beans now lol ,
all the love , time , nutes , elect , all getting wasted to end up w/ a buncha fukn males stands my hair on end !!! so does thinking i'm gonna havta go give my money to some other bastard for shit weed , when i know i can grow far far better myself !!!
i feel for ya , for real . i've got packs -n- packs of freebies from w/ orders from the past . God bud x Dreamweaver , Bublegum x Somango , AK47 x Bubbleberry and i'm afraid to use em now that i've been spoiled w/ buying feminised . havent had a male in over 2 years .
twice i did a sog garden started out w/ 30 beans and only ended up w/8- 10 girls . nomore of that b/s .
start buying feminised beans if you can .
now that i'm done ranting , lol . i've gotten as good as 7 outa 10 being girls , and as bad as 3 outa 10 being girls . i've noticed a better rate of female in the more well known breeders also . and try to avoid any n all stress to better your ratio .

well, i've only tried growing one plant, and it so happened to be female. she's still vegging nicely in my closet too.
Dude what ya gotta start doing is cloning, I know it sounds like a big expensive complicted labratory procedure but its not just cut a female branch at the 4th node and get some hormone gel that could be found at any nursery dip it in there and plant it, you'll have 100% female and you don't have too buy feminized beans. lol ^^^Quote:

I agree, cloning is easy.
I just planted 35 seeds and got 25 females. Usually you get about 50/50 but there is something you can do to increase this ratio. I stumbled upon this by accident but I have heard from many a grower more experienced than I that this technique does increase the ratio of females.
Most people think that you have to keep the seedlings warm all the time but once they germinate I drop the temps to high 60s low 70s. I do this everytime with seeds. The last time I germinated 40 seeds and got 29 females. That's a pretty good ratio in my book. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
ye i'll try that, but i've also heard the way to get more females is more blue light,higher humidity,lower temps and soaking them in oral contraceptives any truth in these?
My humidity was always around 50 and I just used HPS for the whole life of the plants, so I don't know about the blue light (do you mean MH) or humidity, but the contraceptives I'm pretty sure is BS. Why go through the trouble anyway? Just lower your temps for the first 3 weeks of their life. With lower temps I get more females. And not just with these seeds, either. With any seeds I try.
Plus saves you money, you don't have to buy those feminized seeds anymore.

Clone u bitches! feminised seeds are so not worth the money when u can clone, and there is no ratio, what are the chances when u have a kid its gonna be girl or boy? lets turn our thinking caps on, i also herd if u clone fem seeds they can turn hermie. u spend 200+ for fem seeds that last you one grow, when u can have 1000clones for the time and patience spent on 1 female mother plant. get 5 seeds grow them, take a ccouple clones from each, flower them, sex them, and find ur best female. you now have a mother willing to give you free FEMAL plants for how ever long u can keep her alive and healthy. dont get greedy and kill her..
